In my Touch Pro 2, i was able to open a calendar and click a conf call phone number, it called the number. (same as on my EVO).Then once i am in the call, I could click the back button and view 1/2 calendar and 1/2 dial pad. It was very helpful because i could see my passcode from the calendar for my conf call WHILE i dialed them in at the same time.Is there any app or function like this with Android?

I have flashed my N7000 with Omnirom 4.4.2. However I tried to use multi window function. It have not the "add to split window" menu. Seems the multiwindow is not available. Any way to make the multiwindow available?

It appears that the great search company that is Google did not put in a search function within the native Android Calendar (there is of course within online Google Calendar). What replacement Calendar for droid do you have experience with, that of course synchs with google calendar and also has built in search function.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy alarm clock sometimes decides to snooze for an hour and 10 mins rather than 10 mins. I nearly missed work on Friday, what is going on!? I waited a long time for the X10 mini to come out and admit that I am a little dissappointed. I've had a SE W580i until recently and I am finding that there are a lot of basic things that my old phone could handle but my new one seems to struggle with.I have used my phone alarm as my only alarm clock for at least the last 5 years. I really struggle to get up in the morning and if I turn the alarm off, I'll fall straight back to sleep again, therefore I rely heavily on the phone's snooze function to wake me up eventually after going off a few times. I was initially dissappointed that you cannot personalise the snooze duration on the x10 mini, the 10 mins is usually ok for me but in certain situations I prefer to shorten it. Please consider including this in the next software update, Sony Ericsson!
But the pressing problem is the (massively) extended snooze. It happens every few days and seems to be quite random. The first few times I hit the snooze button, it works as normal. A picture of an alarm clock comes up showing the time, and a white segment of clock face is highlighted indicating how long the snooze is for (10 mins) and when it will next go off. Then, I stir due to some disturbance outside, notice that the sun is definitely brighter than it was when I was last awake, grab my phone in a panic and realise that I have been sleeping for 20 mins since the alarm last went off, and that I have less than 7 mins to get up, dressed, packed and on the bus or I will be late for work. Meanwhile my phone is cheerfully still displaying the clock face with the white segment showing that I have 40 mins left to snooze and all is well. I didn't even know it was possible for this phone to snooze for anything other than 10 mins. Unfortunately I am asleep whenever this has happened and I'm not sure how I've done it.
I have tried setting the alarm when awake and then pressing various buttons, tapping the screen in various places, even pressing and holding the snooze button or swiping it. Most of these actions do nothing and the only way to stop the alarm is to slide to turn off or press the snooze button. My theory as to what is happening is that the phone snoozes for the normal 10 mins, but then when it reaches the time to go off again, it fails to go off and then the snooze time is displayed as 50 minutes (until it reaches that time again for the next hour). I think the white segment does initially show the 10 mins, I've started checking when I hit the snooze button after it happened a few times, but I might be doing something different in my sleep somehow.
I just changed to a new desktop running Windows 7. After installing HTC Sync, it can detect my HTC Hero. The problem is, under Sync Manager, it only show "contacts" but no "calendar".
How do I make it to see the calendar. I am running Outlook 2007.
I don't have this problem previously when I used Windows XP. Both contacts and calendar synced properly before.
My WM touch 3G is no longer function properly, I plan to switch to Sony Experia S. It comes a problem that how all my data stored in WM transfer to android, especially appointments and call log in my old WM transfer to the new android. I usually backup my WM calendar data by PIM backup and the backup file is .csa. Originally I plan to import this .csa file to Outlook 2010, then export to Business Calendar Apps or Gmail. However I find this .csa file cannot be recognized by Outlook. how to export my WM calendar and import to Business Calendar Apps or Gmail? I would prefer to export it to Business Calendar Apps as I don't want to store my personal calendar in google server. I am also looking for how to transfer the call lot too, I try to keep it as possible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

I'm planning to use my website to provide updates for my android application whenever the user decides to perform an update( in case there is one available) . I'm thinking to use http requests for the communication between the user and the server, so whenever there is a new update the server sents back to the user the link to download the apk of the update through the android browser. So far I think it should work !?!. But once I have the apk of the new update on the card ,and the installed old version of the application how do I actually perform the update ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?

in order to start a service

Or, provide a Context object to do a query

If this is done in a UI class which extends Activity, that's fine.
However, If I want to create my own utility class (a singleton) that doesn't extend anything and call these functions, I don't have necessary Context object. Now my workaround is to pass an activity reference while initializing the utility class and have that reference to call those functions. I'm wondering what's the correct way to do that. It should not be reasonable to have every class to extends Context so that it can call those functions.
