Is there any API in Android Calendar/DateUtils which provides a list of holidays based on the locale? If no currently, is there any plan to support this in future?

I want to add language to the language list from the settings, Not by apps like "Morelocale2". A way to edit the list of the default language list.
I've seen a guide saying I should disable the files Customization Setup or Customization Setup Provider which probably are not updated to the full list, But sadly the guide was old (probably for 4.0 ICS) and these files are not exciting in my device (4.2.2), perhaps they are named differently..
I want to ask is it possible to remove unwanted language list from locale settings? I'm using Gingerbread 2.3.6 stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace.
As you can see on the attached picture I want to remove marked language. Is it possible?
How can I do that? Do I need to edit LocalePicker.smali in Settings.apk smali folder?
I was thinking how awesome it would be to create a to-do list at home, set the location, then have it pop up when you get into the set range. Does this exist already?

I've got a situation where someone wants to put their whole paper based client list on their phone, some 200+ contacts, and they don't use Gmail. So I'm going to have to type this thing up, and integrate emails while doing it. The thought of having to type it in on the phone is not encouraging. Anyone run across something like that before? On another side note, any good way of limiting what contacts you receive from Gmail? It updated my phone and I've got maybe 20 I actually talk with and 350 contacts I don't care about now.
I go into the calendar app, not widget and go to my calendars and try to add calendars and the box that pops up has no options. It's starting to bug me because I want to add the holidays and Facebook birthdays.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have several users here in our office with the HTC Hero using the Google Apps Premiere system (myself included). I have subscribed to the US Holidays calendar on my Google Apps Calendar. It syncs to my phone with no problem. We have another user who is not so lucky. If I go to my calendar menu on the Hero I see where I can check/uncheck the US Holiday calendar. On the other user's phone, he does not have a US Holidays calendar that he can check/uncheck. I've seen similar posts that regard Sports calendars but have not found a solution for the US Holidays calendar.

1 - On my google calendar I am able to enter reoccuring items and they sync with my eris as they should. I also see all the various holidays on my google cal but these items do not sync to my eris. Is there a way to get the holidays to port over to my native eris calendar?
2 - My contacts has a place for defining a contact's birthday and anniversary. How can I get these user defined dates to populate to my eris calendar? Seems like this should be simple functionality no?
Is there one that also shows holidays? I sync the stock calendar with Google.

I'm planning to use my website to provide updates for my android application whenever the user decides to perform an update( in case there is one available) . I'm thinking to use http requests for the communication between the user and the server, so whenever there is a new update the server sents back to the user the link to download the apk of the update through the android browser. So far I think it should work !?!. But once I have the apk of the new update on the card ,and the installed old version of the application how do I actually perform the update ?

(same as on my EVO).Then once i am in the call, I could click the back button and view 1/2 calendar and 1/2 dial pad. It was very helpful because i could see my passcode from the calendar for my conf call WHILE i dialed them in at the same time.Is there any app or function like this with Android?
