Nov 9, 2013I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

Aug 23, 2010I use the GPS functions and My Tracks quite frequently on my DX. I was wondering if there was a way to check to see which satellites the DX locks on to and their strength - much like a GPS unit (Garmin, etc)?
I would like to use this information to check some settings while on trails as well as getting the Lat/Long of my position.
If I have to use an APP to do this can you recommend a good one?

Aug 26, 2010This is the one thing that grinds my gears about this phone. I downloaded battery widget and the battery meter goes in increments of 10. Not 93% battery life, 90. Not 72%, 70. Is there a setting to make the battery display the exact life left or is this it?

Jul 21, 2010Anyways, if your battery goes from 100% to 90% in less than 5-15 minutes, here's why.
First of all when your phone shows its fully charged, it really is NOT (UNLESS you charged it over night). In that case you will notice that from 100 to 90 stays a long while in between.
But if you charge it during the day and your phone has say 50-70% or whatever and you charge till phone shows is 100%. Your phone has NOT really charged to 100%, trust me!
To test, do this. Charge your phone when its down to 90%. Now plug it up, you will see the "lighting" icon showing charging. If your phone stops showing the icon the phone says it FULL to 100%. Most people will unplug and start using the phone. And they will see the phone go from 100 to 90 in no TIME.
But if you leave it plugged even if the phone shows fully charged for 1/2 to an hour you will get more battery life from 100 to 90!
So battery meter still not working properly. Come on Motorola, use your phones so you can notice these things. Stop using iphones for your personal use!
Here's the good things the OTA update did fix/improve.
This is at least the case with MY phone.
- X no longer gets hot while streaming video while on 3G. This was huge for me as the phone got very hot, but only on 3G, not wifi. FIXED
- When my phone was down to 30-40% in battery life. I would restart the phone and the battery would show 70% and stay there for a long while! For ME this is no longer the case. If its shows 30% and I restart the phone it will still show 30% after boot. FIXED.

Feb 19, 2010Friend of mine said he activated a Droid today, brand new, and the battery meter is showing a "?". No meter just the empty battery meter with a question mark inside of it.Anyone have that issue or ever heard such a thing?

May 4, 2010anyone seen an app that simply reports yours signal strength? the built in one (settings > about phone > status) seems to report, but in a way that makes some sense. for example, anyone know what -90 dBm 0 asu really means?
I have a cool app called GPS test that shows the GPS strength - bar chart and number and color - of GPS signals.
I have another app called No Signal Alert that tells you when you have lost your signal. I emailed them to incorporate a signal strength meter, as it seems a logical app to have it.
Motorola Droid X :: Battery Meter Increases On Restart
Jul 19, 2010I got my Droid X on release day and I'm loving it, but I've noticed a bit of a weird issue. I don't charge my phone in the course of a day... letting the battery drain as much as possible before plugging it in... but several times now I've noticed that my battery meter actually increases when I restart the phone. Yesterday I drained it to 20%, restarted the phone, and it was at 70%. Tonight it got down to 40%, I restarted it, and now it's at 80%... and these aren't just fluke readings that go away after 5-10 minutes... the battery drains consistently from that percentage point.

I have Settings>Sound & Display>Audible selection "unchecked" and I still get this.
Can anyone help me figure out how to turn this off?
Ok I found it and boy did I have to do some digging. settings>applications>running services>android keyboard>Sound on Keypress = Uncheck.

Sep 30, 2010I accidently sat got my evo into some water on our bathroom the other night and now my phone is acting weird. I disconnected the battery and the phone and allowed them to sit in bags of rice for a few days to draw out the mositure. I turned the phone back on and found the camera is no longer so the water must of wicked in through there, but what is troubling me is the orange charge light comes on as well as a red indicator light on the other side.
