The internal meter says it is due for charge long before its out of juice. Battery Left widget will give accurate voltage levels, but it too is fooled, even after proper calibration.

seidioonline.com 2600mAh...almost double stock value.FWIW, I've had one in my Motorola Q for the past year, 2100mAh, and there is a direct correlation on mAh value and usage time compared to stock. So if mAh is 2x higher than stock, it will last 2x as long, under same conditions. I did a mock-up of what it would be like with the "extended battery door", which is pretty close to what is pictures, and it felt easier to type using the hard keyboard.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have purchased the Seidio Extended life battery (2600mAh) about 1 week ago and i do not feel it is performing as expected.Here are the issues i am facing: 1.) The phone takes about 1 hour to report fully charged (similar to standard battery), but if i unplug the charger then re-insert, the battery charge is reported at 60%.When the battery reaches 100% again, i repeat the same process and this time the battery reports as 70%.This repeats until the battery is "actually" at 100%2.) The battery seems to drop charge irregularly, the first 10% is lost after a very short period of time (4 minutes on the last check!) 3.) Once the battery reports as being down to 20%, if i re-boot the phone, it then reports charge of 60% again and the process starts again.I have enclosed 2 attachments to support this information, the image file is a graph i pulled from an app called "Battery Graph", as you can see, the battery level does not drop on a smooth basis, if it was working correctly i would expect a smooth curve, not sharp drops.The second attachment is a zip file which contains an excel spreadsheet showing the full breakdown of the battery % drop during yesterday.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBattery Left was the first thing I installed on my phone when I got it. My battery life has been terrible so I've been trying to track down the problem. I woke up today, unplugged my phone and didn't touch it for an hour. Battery Left says I have 70 percent left but the battery meter in the status bar showed full. I uninstalled battery left and installed Battstatt and it shows 90 percent (2 hours later). Anyone else have problems with battery left? I hope this fixes my battery problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo i am working on the m900 battery issue right now and we know exactly what is wrong with the meter reporting values (samsung set 15% to = 3.74V while the nominal voltage is 3.7 so it reports 15% when it is really more like 60-40% somewhere in that region).Does the behold 2 suffer from this same problem or is there really a battery life from full charge to phone wont turn on?If you dont have this issue, and have access to the open source files for it please let me know.. i need the battery.c and .h since these phones use the same battery

View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyways, if your battery goes from 100% to 90% in less than 5-15 minutes, here's why.
First of all when your phone shows its fully charged, it really is NOT (UNLESS you charged it over night). In that case you will notice that from 100 to 90 stays a long while in between.
But if you charge it during the day and your phone has say 50-70% or whatever and you charge till phone shows is 100%. Your phone has NOT really charged to 100%, trust me!
To test, do this. Charge your phone when its down to 90%. Now plug it up, you will see the "lighting" icon showing charging. If your phone stops showing the icon the phone says it FULL to 100%. Most people will unplug and start using the phone. And they will see the phone go from 100 to 90 in no TIME.
But if you leave it plugged even if the phone shows fully charged for 1/2 to an hour you will get more battery life from 100 to 90!
So battery meter still not working properly. Come on Motorola, use your phones so you can notice these things. Stop using iphones for your personal use!
Here's the good things the OTA update did fix/improve.
This is at least the case with MY phone.
- X no longer gets hot while streaming video while on 3G. This was huge for me as the phone got very hot, but only on 3G, not wifi. FIXED
- When my phone was down to 30-40% in battery life. I would restart the phone and the battery would show 70% and stay there for a long while! For ME this is no longer the case. If its shows 30% and I restart the phone it will still show 30% after boot. FIXED.
Friend of mine said he activated a Droid today, brand new, and the battery meter is showing a "?". No meter just the empty battery meter with a question mark inside of it.Anyone have that issue or ever heard such a thing?

Also I've done 3 full drain and full recharges so far and my battery has improved sloightly each time, do you reccomend I do it again or is that just bad for the battery?

- I'm running the "Battery Left" widget and I have it displaying "estimated percentage left", "system percentage", and "estimated time left until dead".
- I listen to A LOT of Slacker Radio.
My issues:
- I was previously getting about 19+ hours out of a fully charged battery. 2-3 days ago I started having issues with the widget (I think it may have started when I installed an update to the widget) so I recalibrated it to no avail. Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Within a few hours it claimed that it was getting accurate readings (when I first installed the widget weeks ago, it took days to get accurate) and now says that I should be getting 9 hours out of a fully charged battery. I know that can't be right so I'll see how the widget adjusts itself over the next few days, but, any thoughts? (I know a lot of you guys use the same widget and know how it works...)
- Also, In the first two hours of my phone being unplugged this morning, it went from 100% to 70%. I did run Slacker for about an hour and a half of that time, but could it really drain the battery that much that quickly? And I noticed that when I close Slacker, if I go into phone settings, applications, running services - there's still a Slacker update thing running in there. Could that be draining the battery too, even if it's only checking for updates?
- I really don't run a lot of stuff on this phone. I keep wifi and gps turned off. I use bluetooth only a few hours each night. Minimal web browsing. Although, my POP email gets checked every 5 mins (but I just changed it to every 10) and I do use gchat and text a decent amount, but I'd say overall, it's "light" use (except for Slacker which could be a huge drain, right?)
I got my Droid X on release day and I'm loving it, but I've noticed a bit of a weird issue. I don't charge my phone in the course of a day... letting the battery drain as much as possible before plugging it in... but several times now I've noticed that my battery meter actually increases when I restart the phone. Yesterday I drained it to 20%, restarted the phone, and it was at 70%. Tonight it got down to 40%, I restarted it, and now it's at 80%... and these aren't just fluke readings that go away after 5-10 minutes... the battery drains consistently from that percentage point.

I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

So far I love it!Anyway, the guy told me to charge the phone all night long.I played with the phone this afternoon and the battery completely died at about 7pm. I plugged it in and checked it at 10pm and it was at 100%. Should I keep it plugged in all night long? The paperwork doesn't say to keep it charging after it's reached 100%.
