I'm writing an android app, and in it I want to have a sort of title bar, with the name of the game, the score, and things like that. Then below that I want to have an grid of image views, which will kind of be like tiles on which I can display different characters in my game.
I have the following xml layout, but when I run it I get a black screen: code...

Got my X today, had Verizon transfer the contacts from my Omnia to the X. (Backup Assistant was not available for the Omnia)Anyway, on the home screen, if I click the bottom right contacts button, none of my contacts show up, even under the different categories. Nothing in google, nothing in phone contacts.However, if I click the bottom left button (phone icon), it brings up all of my contacts.How can I get this migrated over to the other contacts? I tried backup assistant and m:IQ, with no luck. Neither of them back up the contacts listed on the left icon list.Any help is appreciated.

am instrument -e class android.app.foo. -w com.android.cts.foo.MyTestApp/android.test.InstrumentationTestRunner
Test application executes fine, showing result of the sub-tests in the MyTestApp. But, Application Manager is not exiting properly. This is observed from "ps" command output:

Due to this issue, we are not able to execute the test applications in shell script.
I'm beginner of Android.I want to run my first application on emulator. I use eclipse.I don't know what's happen. I installed my apk. I "register" my acitivity in manifest file, but I can't see it in list of application. When I open manage application setting it's written that my apk is installed. I searched about it everywhere. But I just discovered that whenever I try to add another call when I am in a call, it promps me to complete the action using. 1. my app 2. The normal phone And when I click on my app, it just opens my app. I do not understand what is causing this and do not want my app to be shown in that list.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need help finding the right email app.The default one is horrible. The problem I am having is that it doesn't differentiate new emails from old. Every time I open the inbox in any of my email accounts, it always shows all emails as new. I don't know which one's I read or not. It's not bad if it takes me directly to the email, but when I have emails for multiple inboxes, I don't know which ones have the new email. I called tmobile tech support and was told that unless I delete the read emails from the server, the phone will keep reloading them as new. On my old phone, the messages I read where marked as read and stayed that way. When I got a new email, it was clear which one it was because it was highlighted.
Also, I've just switched to the g1 from a business phone, so I'm really new to this still. The couple things that I would like to figure out how to do is, first, I would like to know how I can search my contacts both by name or business. I've transfered the contact info from outlook to the g1 and so I have both name and business information. However, when I search using the keyboard, I can only search by name. If I put in the name of the company, it doesn't show up. Also, is it possible to have both shown. On my old phone when searched for either the person name or business name, the result showed both. For example, if I searched for lauren or Unico, it would show up as Lauren with Unico below it. Also, this way if I have more than one lauren, I can distinguish between them without having to click through each one.
Secondly, is it possible to set up "speed dial" function. Basically, if I pull up the dialer and press 2 for like 2 seconds it will. Third, I used to have my phone setup that I would have what ever my next appointment was, it would show on the home screen. Is that possible with this phone. Is it possible to allocate certain space on the home screen to preview upcoming appointments.
I have uploaded an application in Android market. But when I search for the app the app do not appear in the autocomplete box which appears below the search box. For example, if I type "h" in the search box the autocomplete box will have the applications with "h". But in my case I need to type the complete name of the application.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't get this Gmail app. It doesn't seem to sync properly with my Gmail account. First off, sometimes the main screen will show "Inbox (1)" or whatever number to indicate I have email, but there are no emails when I tap "Inbox" (but there *are* emails on the website, so they are really in my inbox). This may also be related to the label syncing options. I have them all set to "sync all" because I assume this means it will keep everything synced no matter how old it is, and if you specify a number of days, then it just syncs as far back as that many days. But this seems to cause a problem too, in that sometimes I have email on the website, but the phone isn't detecting it.
Finally, both times I've tried to send an email, it won't work. The email ends up as "sending" in the Outbox, but never gets sent. And yes there is a data connection. I see no reason why it shouldn't send immediately. I didn't expect the Gmail app, of all things, to be so problematic on an Android phone!
once I check a message, the app still says I have a message until I reply. Is there a way to fix that? I do have handcent but I still prefer the htc message app.

Normally, when debugging, I would have to uninstall and reinstall the app because it doesn't see the new values in the database.Now, it's doing the same thing on the market.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make sure my application looks good on the droid, my AVD seems to be messing up. The resolution is off, as the apps shortcuts are spaced the same as my g1 (I know they are usually spaced further apart, and the AVD loaded correctly once, and it's been jacked up since). Also changes I make are often not reflected, and when running a build it no longer says application already installed attempting to re-install, it just says installed successfully.In short, is there any way to fix an AVD that is acting up like this? I have tried deleting it and remaking it, but that doesn't fix it.

What I want to know is if this is ok to leave it on the charger at night for that amount of time?Also, when the phone is getting pretty low on battery I plug it in before the warning comes on to charge. Is this bad? But no matter what I charge the phone at night even if it was recharged at some point during the day. Will this ruin the battery?

Started on the missus iphone that it stopped sayiing 'Welcome to CoPilot' when you started the app (even though it is switched to on in the settings), also none of the directions are audible yet the button clicks are fine.
