I have an application that records audio and i want to add an indicator which shows the volume of the recorded audio ( in real time ). Any ideas how to do is.

I have a problem with my desire 500, I think it's a bug of jelly beans 4.1.2, records video with sound and voice messages with very low whatsapp are at a very low volume. I have tried others and have the desire 500 styesso bugs. is a problem of htc or jelly beans 4.1.2?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm writing an Android application that plays back voice mails using Media Player, which are just WAV files that have been sent to the device. When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?

View 8 Replies View RelatedAs I remember the issue got started from my fault about wipping my battery state. my battery never charged to 100%.I tought I can solve this by wiping when it's fully charged(99%).so I charge my phone to 99% and wipped.but after that my charge percentage got wrong.for example it shows 50%,but it gets off bcoz of low battery.or I plug my charger when it's at 30%.it jumps to 90%rapidly.I have changed my rom.but no results.I tought maybe it's from relation of hardware(battery)and software(ROM) data.so I decide to try my idea.
My idea was:wipe and format all things at recovery.draining battery to 0%(by entering the downloading mode and remaining to it untill phone gets off)then pluging it to charger and let it fully charged.and then odin and installing a ROM.but I have wiped and formated all ghings.but when I plug the charger now a battery icon appears on the screen,but it doesn't get green as it is charging.

I recently took my Epic to a concert and recorded some videos. The picture quality of the videos was OK but the audio was amazingly distorted. There was a lot of bass at the concert which greatly I assume distorted the entire videos sound. I am greatly disappointed as I cannot listen to the songs cuz the sound so bad! Is that normal?

btw, When I use Sound / voice recorder, it records in 3gppp at high setting with 127 kbps AAC audio.
I want to capture audio and along with the audio I also want to show the live signal strength of the audio on the screen.
Is there ant api that give me information regarding the the loudness level (or at least some information indicating whether the user is silent or speaking something) of the audio or should I implement my own signal processing using the captured buffers and determine the level.
In the Android phone, while I am watching YouTube videos, I may reduce the audio volume. Once I am done watching, I close all applications and leave the phone. Then when there is a incoming call, the ringer is very feeble. I may miss that call.Can you make the volume adjustment apply only for that application? I don't want the ringer volume get changed.

I am trying to change ringer volume but I am a bit confused. I can reach the volume_ring level by using the code:

However it says in the explanation "Ringer volume. This is used internally, changing this value will not change the volume. See AudioManager." How can I change Ringer Volume? What should I do?
I listen to music in my car through the aux line in. The volume on my evo is considerably lower than my ipod and it is making the music sound terrible. And im talking about the mp3's from the sd card not pandora (pandora is a whole seperate issue obviously) Is it just me?? Is there some sort of fix or app for this besides rooting? Im running 2.2.

There is just one issue that I would love to gloss over but it's important given that it is a phone so I'd like your input. There was one other thread on this that sounds kind of like what I'm experiencing but I just wanted to be sure before I go in and exchange it.
When I am on a call, it is rather difficult for me to hear the person on the other end. I have the volume turned all the way up but not only is that not that loud but they also sound muffled. If it were one or the other I might be able to deal, but I never had trouble hearing on my BlackBerry and I never had the volume turned all the way up. It's gotten to the point where I'm unknowingly pressing the phone against my ear really hard so I can hear better. Has anyone else noticed that callers sound muffled? Should I exchange it?
My X10i has really low audio volume when using my bluetooth headset. The same headset when paired with my old trusty Sony Ericsson K610i worked fine. I have also tried with a Sony Ericsson Elm and that was ok. Is there anyway to increase the volume on the X10i? Any SW patches, apps or tweaks?
View 3 Replies View RelatedQuestion: The EVO 4G plays an audio file whenever you adjust the ringtone volume with the volume rocker buttons. Does anyone know which file this is and where it's located? Why I'm asking (in case you're interested): I'm one of those that does not like to hit the power button everytime I want to sleep/lock or wake up my phone. It's simply an awkward button for me to hit and I'm afraid I'll wear it out over time or accidentally drop the phone. So, I'm using 'Screen Off' to sleep the phone with homescreen shortcut and 'No Lock' to prevent the phone from going entirely into lock mode. This lets me use the volume rocker buttons to wake the phone. The problem is that each time I hit the button it plays the 'plunk' sound indicating the volume level, which is driving me a little nuts (think Chinese water torture). I've been unable to find a solution to this problem, and am now looking at finding the media/audio file for this and simply replacing it with a silent audio clip. But I searched for all media files in /system, played them each, and couldn't find a match.

The application seems to run and record MP4 output file, but it is blank when I view it with QuickTime! I am wondering if I am setting up the MediaRecorder correctly. Also, expected to see a live preview because a Surface to display the preview was set . But nothing shows up. Any one have suggestions as to what could be doing wrong?
