View 1 RepliesJust made a video with my Motorola xt701. played it on the phone and computer it has no sound. Made another one with me screaming in the phone, still no sound. Do you have to have a mic plugged in to get sound when making a video or is there another issue??
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently took my Epic to a concert and recorded some videos. The picture quality of the videos was OK but the audio was amazingly distorted. There was a lot of bass at the concert which greatly I assume distorted the entire videos sound. I am greatly disappointed as I cannot listen to the songs cuz the sound so bad! Is that normal?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to know if it is possible to improve to improve audio recorded during a video??
I mean I can record video at 720p 25 fps, but the DAMN audio gets recorded at 12 kbps!!
It's just tinny and annoying sound cuts up all the time.
So it is it possible to increase the bitrate of audio via modifying some system file or changing some parameters in phones hidden settings or something like that?? my phone is a Chinese Zopo PILOT ZP100. .
btw, When I use Sound / voice recorder, it records in 3gppp at high setting with 127 kbps AAC audio.
I have had my Evo since launch day. I have recorded some videos for fun and they play back on the phone nicely. But today, I connected the phone to my PC and wanted to play a video. I got video with no sound. I tried several I recorded some at 720fps and some at VGA. Same results. Videos I downloaded from You Tube play fine. Just the ones I recorded on my phone. I have a relatively new HP running Widows 7 and have used Quick Time and Windows Media Player. Neither would play the sound. Anyone have a problem like this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan anyone please comment on the audio quality through the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Droid? I will be using Skullcandy Titans which are in-ear earphones with noise isolation. I am hoping it is at least as good as that through my iPod nano 4th gen. I know that isn't an amazing benchmark but I'll be satisfied if it sounds at least that good with high-quality audio stored on the SD card. Speaking of SD card, do they still pack in the 16GB MicroSD card with Droids these days?
View 8 Replies View RelatedHey, I have a problem with android programing when I try to record and then play the file that was just recored. I can both record and play the sound but the quality stinks. Its not just bad is really hard to listen to and sound abit like its a computer generated voice. I use the andriod SDK-emulator. The code that sets up the recording looks like this;
MediaRecorder recorder = new MediaRecorder();
recorder.setAudioSource(MediaRecorder.AudioSource.MIC);
recorder.setOutputFormat(MediaRecorder.OutputFormat.RAW_AMR);
recorder.setAudioEncoder(MediaRecorder.AudioEncoder.AMR_NB);
recorder.setOutputFile(path);
recorder.prepare();
recorder.start();
And the code playing the file later looks like this;
MediaPlayer mp = new MediaPlayer(); mp.reset();
mp.setDataSource(path); mp.prepare(); mp.start();
I don't know what part that makes the audio file sound really bad or if its just the emulator that makes it bad and that it would work on a real phone.
So is the audio quality crappy and too quiet or is it just me? I tried listening to music using the included headphones yesterday on a plane, and I could barely hear the audio. I ended up switching to my iPod, which I had hoped my G1 would replace. Has anyone used the G1 with different (i.e. better) headphones, and what were your results? (I know the headphone jack is proprietary, but I'm hoping with better headphones/earbuds and a USB to 3.5mm converter I can sqeeze better quality and volume from the G1. We'll see.)
View 26 Replies View RelatedThe Evo's video sound quality is amazingly terrible - which begs the question...can it be improved or are we stuck with unusable "hi-def" video? I'm looking for why it's so bad. Codec/bitrate/compression issues or what?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to digest every possible piece of information I can on the Evo, and have been very anxious to get one on June 4th. But something I'm finding very little info or comments on is how terrible the audio quality is on video recordings. It's surprisingly very bad. The video quality is looking good, but that makes the bad audio just that much worse. I've noticed this on every sample video I've checked out on You Tube. It seems that it is slightly better on the Incredible, but still pretty sub-par. If you watch video recorded from the Motorola Droid or iPhone, you can hear what a difference it is. Is this just a HTC thing, or is it something that can be adjusted?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe audio being recorded is horrible. Will there ever be a fix for that because I'm considering taking my EVO back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFrankly, I'm fine with the video quality. It could be a lot better but I don't use my phone for anything serious. The audio quality is horrid. I pulled a video into MediaCoder to find out why. That is 12.8kbps at 8,000hz sampling rate. To put this in perspective; A low quality MP3 is 64kbps at 44.1khz (44,100hz). That is 5 times the bit rate and more than 5 times the sampling rate.
A decent quality MP3 is at the very least 128kbps. The audio that the Evo camcorder app is 1/5th the quality of a crappy MP3. This is a rather simple software fix. I'm not a programmer but I know how audio and video codecs work and I see no reason for this limitation. The phone can record excellent quality audio. Just download a recording app and try it. HTC or a third party developer needs to get on this. The reason the video is a bit jerky is that it is recorded at 10.01 FPS...
We have one of the crappiest microphones on any phone. I tried to record some audio/video with my camera and the freakin audio SUCKS! what gives? is there anything HTC/Sprint/we can do about this?
View 8 Replies View RelatedHave you ever tryied to make a video when you're at a concert? (I'm not speaking about a classical concert!)
I did and the result was horrible for the sound part. Is there a trick when I want a good quality audio? just keeping the Phone in the air is not enough
I'm going on a trip soon and wanted to put some movies on my phone. I found some DVD ripping software, ripped The Dark Knight as MPEG4, and was thrilled when I saw the picture- it looked fantastic. Then I put my headphones in. Where's my sound?
Before this, I had the movie The Book of Eli on my computer, MPEG4. I put that on my phone- sound, but not video. Converted to H.263, got both, but video was terrible quality. Near unwatchable. Should I try converting to a different format? I mean, there has to be some way to get good quality video.
I have a HTC Desire HD and a Panasonic Lumix TZ65 Camera which I'm taking with me on an upcoming trip, if you were to choose which device to shoot short video clips which, would it be in 720P quality on the HTC desire, or the High Quality (non HD) video mode on the camera?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got a Droid Incredible and love the phone so far. I have a problem however playing back video that I recorded. The video comes out fine but there is no audio track. Same happens when I play back on my PC. I have read some forum posts that were similar but none of the solutions offered have worked for me. I have done the following: Played back on phone, WMP, VLC and Quicktime.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI know this has been discussed before, but I've been having audio / video sync issues with converted videos on the eris. I'd like to emphasize it is the PHONE ONLY and that all videos played great on the computer. Is there any solution, or maybe a better mp4 video software out there? I'm down to a video quality of 320x240 and 350kbs, but the video still starts to lag the audio. If I pause and then play, the video speeds up to "catch up" to the audio for a split second, but then slowly falls behind again. Overall, I've been really disappointed with the incredibly slow processor on the Eris. It's not like this thing was HTC's first smartphone or anything...
View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm big into freestyling. i have over 1500 instrumentals on my phone.i can't figure out how to play them and record myself (either audio or video) at the same time.i figure i'm either gonna have to download a new music player that won't close or a video/audio recorder that won't close the "Music" player that came with my evo.and before anyone goes tryin to be smart, i realize that even if i was able to accomplish such an action the quality would probably be really low due to speaker and mic being so close.my intent is more of a "on the fly lyric composition" rather than a " put myself on youtube to show everyone how awesome i am"

I am on the brink of buying my first Android phone (HTC Desire) and have just stumbled across some postings about Vodafone's restrictions on streaming audio and video. I have read a few articles on this now, but I really don't understand exactly what the blocks apply to. It seems to apply to "RTSP" streaming, but I'm not clear about what this is and whether this just applies to live streaming, or also to recorded video such as clips on the BBC News site.Does this apply only to Vodafone, or also to other networks? I was thinking of getting a new contract with Vodafone because the coverage with my current provider Orange in my area is very poor, and because Vodafone have the best price for the Desire. However if this streaming problem applies to all video on Vodafone, I may well pay a little more and go for O2. I don't know whether this would make any difference, but I will be going for an unbranded and unlocked phone through CPW.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to use/view the video's I record with my phone on my computer. (open from an email or use in window's movie maker)I have a new computer with Windows seven at work and a Vista laptop at home. I can send the video to myself and try to open in from my email or tether to the computer and transfer the file manually. Either way I can't open with windows media player. Video's taken with default "Camcorder" app on a myTough 3G running Android 1.6.I know it has something to do with the codec's the phone uses but wonder why they wouldn't use codec's that are compatible with the most commonly used pc's?Is there any way around this? Some kind of converter for the computer or for the phone?Is there another camcorder app that can record video with a different codec or is it phone hardware specific?So far have been able to use these forum's to sort out most of my Android problems but I'm stumped on this one. It doesn't seem like it should be this hard to do. Should be more user friendly.
