View 2 RepliesWhen my SD card is mounted in my Magic, the CPU usage is very high (90%+), the battery is very warm (34 degrees +) and it drains the battery very quickly (dead in 10 hrs with very min use).
When the SD card is unmounted or removed, the CPU usage drops to 10% or below, the phone is cool and the battery lasts very long.
Does anyone know the reason behind this and how it can be resolved?
I've reformatted the SD card and removed some of the media files not supported by my Magic but still have this issue.
Whats using so much ram and external sd card memory? Internal memory has little space utilized. Is there a way to control this? A larger SD card maybe more ram

As I did some research I found out, and correct me if I am wrong, that most of the applications that we download on the Droid go against the internal memory, and that the applications are not being loaded onto the memory card. I move to the Droid from Blackberry for this sole reason, thinking the Droid had it the opposite way, that the applications were being loaded on the memory card, and not the internal memory. This concept of loading the programs onto the internal memory, was putting a hurt on my Blackberry, where I had to give up programs in order for it to run faster. I am now concerned after finding out that the Droid has the same concept, that this will eventually happen with my Droid, and that I may have to give up programs for it to run fater as well. If this is true to what I am saying, that the applications are on the internal memory and eating away on it, then I am hoping someone would develop a program where as we can take our progams and move them over to the memory card so that it will free up the internal memory, other wise I am off to seek aphone that runs windows, I do belive they do have this concept that I want. I should have done my homework!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to draw a chart and I'm using a scrollview to do so. my scrollview holds the chart view. What I've observed is that the scrollview's onDraw calls the onDraw of my chart view. Now I draw the entire chart on the canvas when the onDraw of chart view is called. Also scrollview's onDraw is called everytime I scroll the view. So I end up drawing the entire chart multiple times. Is there any better way to achieve what this

When i started my dapeng a75 it started with the update screen(automatically)
I leaved the phone 10 minutes and shutted down when i camed back.
I started it again and the android loading screen showed 60 times.(normally 5 times till load)
I plugged in the pc and showed this""Installing driver: MT65** phone"""
I dont have any root or clockwork or something like that.
I dunked my Moto Droid as I fell into a pool this weekend. I probably tried to boot it too soon after that happened, but now a few days later it is operational. Theres a few flecks in the screen display but otherwise I cannot notice any serious deficiencies in the interface. The one major problem I am having however is with the battery. Obviously, it got wet as well, and when the phone did become operational again, it indicated about 50% charge and went down from there as I used it. After it powered down though, when I plugged it in to charge the battery indicator showed a question mark and I can no longer charge it. The Droid will operate when plugged into a wall outlet only (not my computer). Is it possible that replacing the battery is the only necessary fix?

I did a small research and found several engines: - Java4Less (http://java4less.com/charts/chart.php?info=android) - Chart4J (http://code.google.com/p/charts4j/) - BlueChart (http://code.google.com/p/bluechart/) is it a port of jFreeChart?! - aChartEngine (http://code.google.com/p/achartengine/) - aiCharts (http://www.artfulbits.com/Android/aiCharts.aspx)
Somebody try them?! Any pros and cons?! Which one is the best for Android?!

View 42 Replies View RelatedBeautiful Widgets just showed up in Market for the Droid. Looks great and I bought it based on it's reputation.
I kinda wish Market didn't leave incompatible apps off the list. They should just not let it install. I spent a long time thinking I mispelled "Beautiful".Anyway it's showing up now.
I have a Vista 64 bit laptop. Got a droid eris 2 weeks ago or so. First time I ever wanted to connect my computer and phone I tried a bunch of things but each time, phone kept saying it was mounting but then would never do it. But under settings/SD it knew it was mounted b/c of card size, etc., showing up and "Unmount" was selectable. Did lots of things, kept trying, eventually when I tried out the sync feature found out I didn't have HTC sync on my computer, which it said it needed, so I installed that and then tried to mount again and then it worked! I viewed my files, moved some pics around, etc.
Now I go to mount again and the same thing is wrong, won't connect at all. Tried mounting, unmounting, power cycling, using device manager on my laptop, even took out the card and put it back in, safely removing hardware, back and forth and on and on. Computer knows it's plugged in because it shows up as drive F but when you click on it once it is "mounted" (though I don't think it actually is mounted) - the computer says "please insert disk into drive f". I have USB 2.0 and I got it to work once, I don't understand what is wrong this time!
how to make battery consumption on running applicaion in android my thesis problem. it's about a battery notification or battery consumption of running application. how can i make it just like a chart/history that will tell how much battery an application consumed.
View 1 Replies View Relatedyes, it is . I charged it up Sunday night. Monday evening I still had over 60%. Monday night I did not plug it in, I tuned off 3G though. This morning the battery status still showed ~60%. So what did I do (or what did I NOT do)?
(1) I did not do the battery discharge-recharge thingy. BTW, if you really *fully* discharge a Li-ion battery you will kill it.
(2) I did not download any task killer/manager. This is supposed to be a smart phone to kill things when needed.
(3) I do not use the Home button at all. I always use the back button. my awake time is about 10%
(4) I do autosync, but my WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS is off.
I admit I am not a heavy user, though I have used up about 50 Mb data in 2 days. Peter
I had look the demo video of X10. It showed the X10 recognize the at least 5 faces. What means? How do it recognize and how do we use it this function? Pls explain me!
View 31 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's my phone or what but when I look up the Other Usage on my phone, it shows it "Running" more than 2/3 of the time. And on Network Usage, "Android System" and "Media" use a great deal of the phone as well.I think this might have to do with my "android.process.acore" crashing every once in a while when it's asleep. Based on everyone's feedback I might have to return the Moment for a third time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI hope what I'm asking hasn't been asked, but if so, I'd gladly take a link in the right direction. Is there a comparison chart/ T-chart that compares the various roms out there?Something that compares build (2.01 vs 2.1), features (wireless tether, live wallpapers, etc), speed results, strength/weakness narrative etc. similar to what you'd find on a consumer guide, perhaps in a scope and sequence type of alignment that alludes to release dates?I've heard "go with the rom that best suits your need", but a diagram like the one suggested might help the community.Perhaps a knowledgeable veteran would be interested in such a project? If I'm way off, just tell me to go pound sand.

I have need to make a sort of "Pie Chart"-style circular display. the wedges of the chart have to be touchable, and the whole circle has to be able to spin 360deg. I'm still an android noob, but I'm guessing that I can't do this with a Layout.. right? preferably, the wedges would be image assets that I create in Photoshop, and not programmaticaly created does anyone have any Idea where to start with this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBattery Left was the first thing I installed on my phone when I got it. My battery life has been terrible so I've been trying to track down the problem. I woke up today, unplugged my phone and didn't touch it for an hour. Battery Left says I have 70 percent left but the battery meter in the status bar showed full. I uninstalled battery left and installed Battstatt and it shows 90 percent (2 hours later). Anyone else have problems with battery left? I hope this fixes my battery problem.
