When i fire up my youtube app, i get a quick black screen flash and it goes back to home screen. The app doesnt launch at all. It was working just fine for several months, all of a sudden it started doing this.

I just got a new HTC Evo and when I use the youtube app it just goes to a black screen like it is loading but doesn't do anything, but if I go to the browser and go to youtube it works. I can't use any of the soft keys at the bottom, I have to make the phone go to sleep then open it again. I was wondering if it just takes long to load or if the app is broken, I am only in a 3g area but I wouldn't think that that would affect it. It shows my notification bar but doest let me access it

I don't know if I'm missing something in the settings or what, but every time I shake my Eris while running an app the screen automatically goes back th the home screen. This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.

When it crashes - the screen goes black, but the green alert light still flashes. Does anyone else have this or a solution? It is stock with just a few added apps from the market.

When I try to reboot it just goes black and comes back to this screen. I can get to clockwork and do and nandroid backup, but I just wanted to know what potentially caused this so I can avoid this in the future.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHTC Evo was working fine, started noticing screen flickering but phone continued to work fine. Updated to froyo 2.2 and did sprint updates, phone still worked fine, then next day in the middle of playing with phone screen flickered and went black. Tried removing battery and rebooting several times but no luck. Left battery out overnight and tried again in the morning white htc screen appeared and then flickered out to black. did a hard reset, with the screen still black and still nothing. I've gone back to my phone after it has set for hours untouched and press the power button I can see the lock screen but it too goes away after a second or two. Phone is functioning lights at the bottom of the phone are lit and respond when I press them just no visible image. I don't have the insurance so I'll have to pay for all the fixes myself and I've had it since August so there is no returning it to the store. I've searched the web and I haven't seen a solution to what the problem could be is it the LCD screen or the motherboard. I'm ordering another screen but I'd hate to find out it is something else.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
I recently rooted my phone and deleted a few stock apps, all of which were on that list of apps that were okay to remove. I just did a hard rest and now when the phone turns on, it just sits at a black home screen. The only thing i can do it hold down search and search the web, seems like from deleting some widgets it messed things up. Any way i can install a new from or something like that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running modaco 3.2 core custom rom ssh seems pretty good very little lag but cant help thinking that something is wrong as titanium back up, wireless teather and super user permision don't work they all load and then the screen goes black and says su request in the corner before saying activity su request(in application superuser permissions)is not responding, force close. i rooted and also started using gde home mod got to say it is pretty good although i had to pay for it but has a good replacement for sence only trouble is widgets don't seem to work or just aren't there except for clock,conversation, any of you experiencing this problem?is there something similar but better that widgets do work. what is the best firmware/rom upgrade e.g 1.6-1.8 or 2.1. Has anyone got these working well on the hero. Is there a big delay when waiting for a alert after you receive a message or is it just my hero?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy aunt gave me a Samsung Galaxy S2 and everything was fine, except that it didn't let me register to the network. The next day it told me that it had to do an update so I did the update. After the update the home screen turned black and pressing the buttons didn't do anything. After a while an error pops up saying "application is not responding" and then the screen just stays black. The top bar works just fine and I can even go on the internet, play games, practically do everything. I did a factory reset by pressing Volume up + Home + Power 3 times already, but the only thing that changed is that the language turned into German.. the screen stays black. It had nothing to do with Rooting or Flashing, because I don't even know what that is.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!
My x10 went onto a black screen and the unlock button does not work. The phone is on and fully charged but cant do anything.

So I was personalizing my phone today, when I removed the "Add a Contact" bar from the second screen to the left. No problem. I'll go look in the "+" categories and find it. I can't. Any ideas how to get it back? If you haven't changed any of the screens, scroll to the one just left of the first home screen...that bar.

I have 4 subscriptions in the news app and the widget on the home screen. The problem is, read news keeps refreshing on the app after i've read and deleted it. If I read all the news, then delete them all so that it's empty, the widget will "load news" and everything will come back. Is this the way it's supposed to work? I thought only unread articles were supposed to sync but mine just keeps loading all the same crap again, as well as new stuff too.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had a look around this site but can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem as me.I downloaded an application that changed the unlock screen to the same as the iPhone.For some reason this changed my home-screen was well as my unlock screen.My HTC Hero had the same home screen as this:

The long bar across the bottom with call etc has disappeared and changed to one square box. I have uninstalled the application but there is nothing to change it back. Can anyone help?
I'm a new Nexus One user, when I want to shut off the phone I have to use the back button to go through everything I've done for the phone to return to the home screen, if I don't the next time I turn it on, it will go to the last used screen. Is there a way to quickly get back to the home screen and deleting the others?

This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?
I was wondering if anyone has a cure for this. The phone is rooted and on Villain 5.x. I've recently started using the camera and noticed that it will abruptly close on me - no force close message or anything - just back to the Home screen. A reboot seems to fix it for a few snaps, then the same again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know how I did it, but on my home screen, originally I saw this:with the phone on the left, 2nd home screen to get to all the apps, and the contacts button to the right with the 5-7 screens.somehow I got it on some "Linux" mode where when I press anywhere on the screen, it will shrink to three small windows, two of which are empty and 1 of the windows only displays the following icons: Droid Market, Browser, and Maps along with a dock at the bottom. I want to go back to the way it was beforehand. Does anyone know how to fix this?
