Android :: Custom Title Bar Without Padding / Remove Grey Borders?
Apr 19, 2010So I am using the techniques in this thread to use a custom background for my titlebar. Unfortunately the framework places my layout inside a FrameLayout (title_container) which has padding as seen below.
Is there anyway to remove the Grey borders? The frame layout is defined in com.android.internal.R.id.title_container, so accessing the frame by ID would be fragile.

Apr 20, 2014I am using our country local brand walton primo gh2 phone. In notification area i see "Downloading English (US) ", under it download paused. First three or four time i tapped and hold and its took me to Language and input option and shows me that update and every time it stacked on 64%. after that when i again i tapped and hold it shows just app info nothing else and i cant remove it from my notification area. Its very annoying to see and some file goes to queue under it too download never start and i have to restart downloads. I am using android 4.2.2.

May 6, 2012I created a google maps app. I have been using the debug md5 fingerprint to test my app as I built it. It worked fine. Now that I'm ready to publish, I'm having a problem with the nondebug md5 fingerprint I need to publish with. I'll go step by step with what I've done. I right click my app in eclipse, then go down to android tools > export signed application package. It pops up a window. I see my app name i hit next.
keystore selection> create new> C:AndroidAppMapKey> create passwords for it hit next.
Key creation> create my alias name.
Lets say mapalias> give it the same password as the keystore. Give it a validity of 1000> insert my name. hit next. destination and key/certificate check> C:AndroidAppMyGoogleMaps.apk > hit finished. After that i open up cmd, I'm on windows 7.
I type> keytool -list -v -alias mapalias -keystore C:AndroidAppMapKey -storepass mypass -keypass mypass. It generates the md5 code i need. I go to the website to register the md5 code. get the code i need to use on my android: apiKey="ofhsjfjfjmmmmmdnjjffmmf". Run it on the emulator and my phones. I get a grey screen with no map coming up.

Aug 6, 2010I mostly use wifi at home and office so I usually turn the 3G off using APNdroid and Smartbar. When I needed to use 3G on the street, I used APNdroid and Smartbar too. But there is just a grey 3G signal on the notification bar. I have to turn the phone off and turn it on to have 3G signal.

Jan 22, 2012I'm trying to find the colour codes (ie hex, RGB(A) etc) for the Holo themes in Ice Cream Sandwich. I see that from the Android Developers website that they are defined in constants, but I need to get the actual values for use elsewhere. I've been searching like crazy for hours and the best I can do is a page that I can't even show you because I'm still a noob on the forum!
I have some values, but I wanted to match them up to the R.color documentation.

Google Maps Displays Grey Tiles When Drawing Geopoints

However, once I try to plot a couple of geopoints and connect them it does displays the geopoints and connects them, but the Google map stops displaying. Only grey tiles show. May 5, 2014I recently rooted and I thought it'd be cool to try and get some free in-app purchases. I looked at a tutorial and it told me to use Freedom and Market Unlocker Pro. I had to open Market Unlocker Pro and use the custom market code '25008'. I then opened Freedom and opened Clash Of Clans and tried to buy something, and as I thought, it didn't work. But since then my WiFi bars have been grey and I can't use the Play Store or any Google services. I can use the Google Search and the Internet but I can't get apps that I want on the Play Store. I've tried restoring and clearing data from Google Framework but that hasn't worked.

I've tried Handcent and got a blue light for SMS delivery, so clearly it is possible, so why can't any other notification app make use of the other colours? Jun 11, 2010The HTC Desire has been the first phone in a pretty long time to get me excited and make me think "I want one!" Doing research just adds to that statement! But I still have one dilemma preventing me from buying currently: what colour to get?! I know, it's something completely basic and non-technical, but could mean a great deal. The main colour is named 'Graphite', known as brown/bronze and many more variations! What exactly is this colour? It intrigues me, looking on the internet, it can look purple, brown, grey, black! This is obviously the most common of the Desires and can be picked up unbranded, with original firmware, etc.
Another option is a black HTC Desire. I gather the black, which I feel I like best, is an Orange-exclusive. Over-branding on their part, but I see black non-branded HTC battery covers are coming out soon, so not a biggie. Further, their over-excessive branded firmware can removed and have it clean clean. Finally is the recently-released Silver variation, 'limited-edition' as they said on eXpansys, but I believe this is a common colour in Holland. Looks nice, but the extra price tag seems a sort of over-kill - probably not worth it. Let me know your opinions on any of this and help me decide. Particularly your thoughts on the standard HTC Desire 'graphite' colour! And I have seen some people switch from the graphite to the black versions - again, let me know which one you like best!

May 25, 2010So I have the nexus 3D gallery app installed on my 2.1 Eris. It works fine other than it refuses to generate thumbnails sometimes. They just show up as grey boxes. Once it finally does generate the thumbnails, it's fine, but sometimes they just won't generate. For example, I took some pics this past Sunday and the thumbnails are still just showing up as grey boxes. It takes several cycles of closing gallery, opening gallery, closing, opening, etc. etc. to get it to finally generate all the thumbnails, then they're fine. Oh, and sometimes they don't show up at all. Seems this app is very buggy on the Eris.
