Does anyone know of a way to modify the default HTC Scenes? Whenever I make changes and try to save them, I cannot overwrite the default scenes. All I can do is create a new scene with my modifications.

So everyone loves Sense and we have a dedicated thread to showing our home screens. But no one seems to talk about Scenes. Does anyone actually use them? I know I tried for the first few weeks but no I hardly even remember that this a function?

I only use one my custom scene are these other scenes affecting battery life I just noticed these extra scenes and wondering if I should delete because I don't use them.

I got such bad memories at times, and want to write something down to look at later as a reminder. So I was looking for a widget to do this, something similar to 3Banana app.
So here is my dilemma, I am using Hero on Sprint and I want to start really modifying this phone as I have done with all my past ones. I read these forums trying to absorb who has done what with the various apps, roms, and other software that can enhance this phone but am not sure what effort to put forth right now. Should I start to go crazy with apps and looking at using a different ROM or just wait for this new update?
I am in school and haven't had the kind of dedicated "nerd" time I would normally put toward this type of thing so please forgive the obvious ignorance permeating throughout this message.
I just downloaded- Godzson oynxBluesdirt.zip icon+dailer and everythings there and looks great except that the browser is gone, and I love the default browser so will someone please help me to get it back.
NOTE- I already tried ~Settings>Applications>Browser and then click the button Clear Cache and Clear Data then reboot your phone.~

Does anyone know how to set the Lock 2.0 as the default screen locker? If I reboot my CDMA Hero, then the standard Lock screen will appear. If I manually run Lock 2.0 first, then it will use that until I next reboot. Also, is there a way to modify the information that appears on the lock screen? I'd love to be able to see missed calls / reminders there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to remove an ImageButton's background in only the default state. I'd like the pressed and selected states to behave as usual so that they look correct on different devices, which use different colors for the pressed and selected states.
Is there any way to set an ImageButton's background default state's drawable without affecting the pressed and selected states?
I've tried to do this with a selector, but it does not appear to allow you to use the default drawables for some states - you have to set all the states yourself. Since there's no API to retrieve the device's default pressed/selected drawables, I don't know what to set the pressed/selected states to.
I also tried getting the StateListDrawable object for the button that the system creates when you are not using a selector and then modify it change the default state. That didn't work either.
I seems that on Android, if you want to change the drawable for one state of a button, then you must set all the states, and thus cannot preserve the default drawables for the other states. Is this correct?
I have a coworker with an Iphone and one with a Droid and both can go to buzz.google.com but I cant on the Hero? I am thinking it has something to do with HTC web browser but not sure?Is there a way I can get the default browser on the Hero? Or just go to buzz.google.com?

I can both send and receive emails, but I'm having some issues getting notified and receiving messages consistently. I have my update settings set to every 30 minutes, but often I will check the client only to see that it hasn't been updated for hours. Also, sometimes when I get messages there won't be an email notification or an unread count on the widget.

I had no default defined so that when I tapped a jpg file I got a popup menu asking which app I wanted to open it with. Someway or another I managed to check the box that says use this as the default and tapped the app before I could uncheck it. So now the built in picture viewer is set as the default and I would like to clear that so I get the popup box again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI switched from the default SMS to handscent SMS recently and I like everything but one little thing. When I get a text, two notifications appear in the top left corner. Once I answer the text, the handscent notification goes away, but the other mail notification will stay until I get another text message or clear all notifications. Is there a setting I have to change to only get one notification? Does this have anything to do with the fact that I had the popup message setting turned on so that every time I got a text a window popped up on my phone allowing me to answer the text much quicker than actually opening up Handscent messaging. Can anyone help me solve this problem? I just uninstalled it because of this reason, but if I can fix it, I would love to reinstall it and use it again.

I can make an appointment and go down to reminder, scroll up to "none," but when I go to set the default reminder in the calendar I am offered 5 minutes and less. I don't want reminders, and I would prefer to have it default to none every time rather than having to go the extra step to set it to none. Is there a way to change the default to no reminder? I have set up my google calendar online to have none, but when I enter an appointment in my calendar it won't allow that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed Handcent because of the battery drain issue, and like it a lot, but now I cannot turn off the OEM Messages program. I tried going into the Settings>Applications>Manage Applications to turn it off, and it doesn't work. I also did the "Use Handcent as default SMS" when that box first pops up. I get two different ringtone notifications too. Although I switched the ringer to the same one both through the phone's settings and through Handcent's settings.

Handcent worked fine before i updated to 2.1 but ever since then i cant get the default sms to stop popping up when i get new messages. I have already unchecked every setting in the default app. Is there another setting i am forgetting to mess with??
