View 2 RepliesI updated my HTC hero into the official 2.0 (?) update and i just wanted to use some custom rom when i noticed i couldn't get into the screen where you can do nan backups and flash zips. So i'm not rooted anymore. Now i tried rooting my phone again with Root your HTC Hero CDMA Stock Android 2.1 | Gadgets DNA.That link and i was going pretty good till the superuser permission part. I didn't received it on my HTC Hero and I tried doing it over again and over again and it just doesn't come in my app list.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIm not getting the "superuser permission" app in my app tray even after all the steps and it even says "unrevoked" in the command prompt as well. im running on build number 2.27.651.5, anyone?
View 2 Replies View Relatedsuperuser permissions not working on my hero. just got the fresh 2.0d on my phone last night and it hasn't worked since.
View 10 Replies View Relatedi re-flashed the rom and it's working now. but now my google contacts aren't showing up?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for about a month now. No problems whatsoever, until the other day. My phone was turned off. Then, it "magically" turn on ans started ringing. I turned my phone back off for a while. Later, I turned it back on and the second the home screen pops up, like 10 force close screens pop up. I can't text, internet, nothing. No settings either. I click the phone tab at the bottom and another force screen pops up, same as everything else. It also shows I have no signal at all, when normally I have almost full bars. A few days prior to this, my phone would phase in and out of service for no reason.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone noticing a ridiculous amount of force closes on LP+ while running CM6? I originally was on the newest "stable" build, go ta lot of FCs, so updated to the 9/25, still getting the FC's. Then went back to the stable one, updated LP in the market, and still getting the FC's.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago I flashed the 2.1 icon pack, used MetaMorph to apply a theme and ended up getting force closures. I did a wipe and restored my last nandroid -- no luck. Then I restored with the RUU and put Fresh 1.1 on my phone. I want to switch to MoDaCo 2.2 but when I do I'm getting those force closes again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a htc hero (which I absolutely love), it's an unlocked phone (Belgium doesn't allow carriers to couple phones with subscriptions). Despite working fantastically, one thing has been bothering me which I can't seem to fix. I've got the standard calendar widget on one of the main screens, but every time it syncs or tries to update, it force closes itself (htc calendar store com process). I've noticed now that the events added to it on my phone, do not sync to google and vice versa.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis isn't a compatibility issue. Okay so when I first installed HTC sync it was fine. I used it to install the latest ROM from T-mobile. I haven't used it since seeing as I didn't really have any need to. But today I though I may as well try it. So I turn my phone on. Plug it in. Drag down the notify bar. HTC sync. Sync now.
Pop-up on my computer says syncing calendar. Then it stops after 2 items. I look at my phone and it says HTC sync stop unexpectedly and I had to force close it. So I go into setting and try using HTC sync from there. But then my computer tells me the connection to my phone has times out. So, I restart my phone this time I get to 4 items. But the same thing happens.
Every 10 hours or so my texting makes me force a close and I lose all service then I have to pull out my battery and then wait 4 it 2 reboot and I miss alot of text during this time. I've tried chompsms and handcentsms.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just starting having this issue today. When I turn my phone on. I have no service and all my apps no not working and they have to be force close. My phone is not RAM Or ROM. I also tried to uninstall some apps.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst let me say I am running Fresh Rom 1.0......I went to calibrate my keyboard as I have before and now all it does is force close. Not sure if Fresh has anything to do with it as I restored to Sprint RUU with update but still force closed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIdk what could be causing it, I removed taskiller & any newer apps from the past few days I've added but is this something I should call tech support about ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince few days ago, com.htc.bgp has been force closing on my HTC Hero. I have tried pretty much any remedy I have found on the internet, but it still bugs. Here's a list:
-Hard reset
-Deleting caches from ALL of the apps
-Deleting the HTC Sense app on Facebook.com (with hard reset)
-Turning off Facebook sync (this DID work, but losing functionality that worked just a few days ago kind of sucks).
I did rooted my Desire few weeks ago, after i did apply 2.2 update, now i believe my HTC is unrooted again, which i am happy with. This question probably been asked 100 times, but still cant find answer to it -how to remove Superuser permission app from menu without rooting phone again?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just noticed my superuser icon is no longer a ninja, it is more like a skull and cross bones android...is this normal?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sorry if this has been answered but I couldn't find it specifically.I recently rooted my Eris to 2.1 (using GrdLock's guide) and have trouble accessing superuser permission. The program labeled this opens to a blank screen and force closes, and when I tried to download a widget to overclock my processor, it could not work because it was unable to access the superuser permission.I thought that this came standard with rooting, so is there something I did wrong? Also, occasionally I have been unable to place or recieve a call. The call timer runs as if I'm on the line, but I can't hear anything at all. I usually have to turn off/on my phone to fix it, but was wondering if this was another problem associating with the rooting or superuser permission.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone is moving extra slow, Handcent is giving me a lot of force closes, or not opening at all. I can't delete messages...can't download out the market, it will say starting download but will never actually start...I want to throw it against the wall
View 17 Replies View RelatedI decided tobreset up my jd. It asked for superuser rights. When it was resetting up, it installed aosp. What is aosp and why did it ask for superuser permission?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis app has never asked for superuser permissions before, but today it asked for it several times. I accepted the request until I decided to see what could happen if I deny it. The app still captured screenshots.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo for the past year I have been using a blackberry bold 9700. At the time when I bought the phone, AT&T didn't have any really appealing android offers. Anyway, the captivate came out, and it seemed like finally there was a good, high end android phone for my carrier, despite AT&T's usual bloatware BS. So I went onto craigslist and found some dude who was willing to sell his captivate for 200 bucks + my bold 9700 (side question, was that an OK deal? I feel like a little less money would have been fair). So we met traded, I'm finally on android, I love the phone, but there is one problem. There is an application on the phone called superuser permissions that I can't delete.I found out it's a program used for rooting.Even though I plan to root my phone eventually, I don't want to root it yet (I'll wait until froyo is released for my phone), and I would rather just root it myself and know what I did to my phone, if that makes any sense.
To make matters a little trickier, I use a mac. I can transfer files between my phone and my computer by going into usb debugging, but the samsung only has drivers that work with Windows... I don't know if that's a problem or not but I just thought I'd mention it.
Here is the scenario:
Motorola Droid - Original
1. Rooted 2.1, then
2. OTA Stock Update to 2.2, then
3. Seem to have lost root, However - I still have the Superuser Permissions Icon.
I use Barnacle for WiFi Tether - I get a "Permission Denied" error when I try to start the application. I also went into the terminal emulator and tried an "su" which also gave a permission denied response. I tried "sudo" and also got permission denied response. Others have told me this is common with this progression of events. However, How do I now ROOT 2.2 in this scenario?
I can install a custom from be cause superuser force closes after I open cwm to load into recovery. I can't even get into to recovery because of this fallen over Android both that has a red yield sign on it. Galaxy Nexus
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a replacement incredible, but over the last week I'm getting more and more force closes than I did with the first one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on this new app, and it's force closing before it even opens, why it's force closing? (I've tried this app on my samsung transform and my motorola xoom yesterday, both worked, and them i added the image button inplace of the regular button, and now it won't work. here are my files;

I'm getting reports from users about force closes in my app after the donut OTA. One of them was kind enough to send me a logcat which included these two gems (right after he installed it from market):
10-02 15:56:35.708 D/PackageManager(71): New package installed in / data/app/com.billnapier.android.livebookmarks.apk 10-02 15:56:35.708 W/PackageManager( 71): Unknown permission com.android.browser.permission.READ_HISTORY_BOOKMARKS in package com.billnapier.android.livebookmarks 10-02 15:56:35.708 W/PackageManager( 71): Unknown permission android.permission.READ_HISTORY_BOOKMARKS in package com.billnapier.android.livebookmarks
The second one makes sense, since that name has gone away. But I can't figure out why the first one would show up, since that permission should exist on the phone. anybody got any clues? I can't reproduce this on my phone, so it's kinda hard to debug.
Some of my users are reporting force closes. Does anyone have some ideas about how to track these issues down when I can't reproduce them in the Emulator or on my Hero? This is my app btw if anyone wants to logcat it for me:

I figured I might try starting something up for those who are having problems with Launcher Pro. It's a great home replacement and has far better functionality than Sense does IMO. The only issue is that it seems like some people are getting a lot of FC's.
I had a good week long run without any FC's, and then after an upgrade it seems like they're back.
If anyone has found any malicious widgets or apps that don't play nicely with LP, can you please post them up here?
