View 10 Replies View RelatedIm not getting the "superuser permission" app in my app tray even after all the steps and it even says "unrevoked" in the command prompt as well. im running on build number 2.27.651.5, anyone?
View 2 Replies View Relatedsuperuser permissions not working. i've already wiped and reflashed fresh 2.1.1. when i try to open superuser permissions all i see is a black screen. also when i use htc sense, it seems to suck up battery really fast but it runs smooth. but when i switch to the nexus launcher it takes a while to load up all the icons on the main screen. i've tried to search but it seems like the search is not accurate in hunting down the threads for me because when i try to create this thread, i see more similar threads than just simply searching for it through the top right search box.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI updated my HTC hero into the official 2.0 (?) update and i just wanted to use some custom rom when i noticed i couldn't get into the screen where you can do nan backups and flash zips. So i'm not rooted anymore. Now i tried rooting my phone again with Root your HTC Hero CDMA Stock Android 2.1 | Gadgets DNA.That link and i was going pretty good till the superuser permission part. I didn't received it on my HTC Hero and I tried doing it over again and over again and it just doesn't come in my app list.

View 2 Replies View RelatedStrange curious thing, but, in All Contacts, even in Google, the contacts I have in Groups like Family aren't showing. I have to actually go into that contact set to get them to show. I would have thought that All Contacts, would have actually been all not some.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Hero yesterday and had the Sprint store transfer my contacts from my AT&T sim card. Everything seemed to work fine except when he looked in the "people" icon, nothing was there. So after a few more tries I left. When I got home, I noticed that all my sim card contacts, including my Facebook contacts, were visible when I hit the "phone" icon. My question is, how do I get my contacts in the "people" icon? I want them on the first tab "all". I was able to get one of my contacts in the "favorites" tab but it takes too long to get there. I want to hit "people" and see all my contacts right away.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWorking on a Sprint HTC Hero that was recently upgraded to 2.1.
But the contacts when added as a google contact only show up under "all contacts" in google and not on the phone itself.
At first, I worked around this by logging into google to manually switch the contacts to "my contacts" and it then showed up on the phone.
Now, I figured out that when adding the contact on the phone, I have to choose "null" as a group label for the contact to show up on the phone.
i use google contacts to sync my personal numbers to my phone but for some reason everytime i email someone from somewhere like craigslist that anonymous address is saved to my contacts? wtf? how do i stop this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did rooted my Desire few weeks ago, after i did apply 2.2 update, now i believe my HTC is unrooted again, which i am happy with. This question probably been asked 100 times, but still cant find answer to it -how to remove Superuser permission app from menu without rooting phone again?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just noticed my superuser icon is no longer a ninja, it is more like a skull and cross bones android...is this normal?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sorry if this has been answered but I couldn't find it specifically.I recently rooted my Eris to 2.1 (using GrdLock's guide) and have trouble accessing superuser permission. The program labeled this opens to a blank screen and force closes, and when I tried to download a widget to overclock my processor, it could not work because it was unable to access the superuser permission.I thought that this came standard with rooting, so is there something I did wrong? Also, occasionally I have been unable to place or recieve a call. The call timer runs as if I'm on the line, but I can't hear anything at all. I usually have to turn off/on my phone to fix it, but was wondering if this was another problem associating with the rooting or superuser permission.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Hero on the Sprint network and I'm currently trying to root it. I follow the instructions according to this guide. Root your HTC Hero CDMA Stock Android 2.1 | Gadgets DNA. and i get to step 9 and enter what I am supposed to. The problem is that when I go to my app tray there is not application for Superuser permissions... I have pushed all the indicated files to my sdcard and nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI decided tobreset up my jd. It asked for superuser rights. When it was resetting up, it installed aosp. What is aosp and why did it ask for superuser permission?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis app has never asked for superuser permissions before, but today it asked for it several times. I accepted the request until I decided to see what could happen if I deny it. The app still captured screenshots.

View 22 Replies View RelatedMy Sprint HTC hero is rooted running Fresh 2.1.2 and whenever I open superuser or try to run an app that requires root I just get a black screen that says (Su Request) at the top and it just stays their and does nothing. Any takers on how to actually launch the program that requires root or what to do with this screen?
Problem programs:
Cachemate
OverclockWidget
Setcpu
Superuser Permission
I installed the Sprint 2.1 leak RUU and then rooted. Probably backwards, but everything has been working great for the past few days regardless. My problem is when I try to use something like Titanium Backup. I get a message saying that "busybox works but the "su" command does not elevate to root" It goes on to say my superuser whitelist system app does not work. I tried to install the superuser whitelist app from the market but it said it was incompatible with my phone. What can I do now to get Superuser privileges?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo for the past year I have been using a blackberry bold 9700. At the time when I bought the phone, AT&T didn't have any really appealing android offers. Anyway, the captivate came out, and it seemed like finally there was a good, high end android phone for my carrier, despite AT&T's usual bloatware BS. So I went onto craigslist and found some dude who was willing to sell his captivate for 200 bucks + my bold 9700 (side question, was that an OK deal? I feel like a little less money would have been fair). So we met traded, I'm finally on android, I love the phone, but there is one problem. There is an application on the phone called superuser permissions that I can't delete.I found out it's a program used for rooting.Even though I plan to root my phone eventually, I don't want to root it yet (I'll wait until froyo is released for my phone), and I would rather just root it myself and know what I did to my phone, if that makes any sense.
To make matters a little trickier, I use a mac. I can transfer files between my phone and my computer by going into usb debugging, but the samsung only has drivers that work with Windows... I don't know if that's a problem or not but I just thought I'd mention it.
I just joined the world of smart phones and I'm loving my HTC Hero and the Android platform but I'm not understanding all the contacts. I've never been one to keep a very neat & tidy Google contact book (though, I guess it's about time to start), so I'm noticing that now that I've synced my phone with my Google account, I have TONS upon TONS of contacts -- many of which I don't even want in my phone. Obviously, the phone has added my G mail contacts. So now, as I'm adding everyone's phone numbers (something I never kept in G mail), I'm added it to their Google Contacts listing. Is that the best way to do it? I've read a few posts about the topic and I see a lot from people who are previous smart phone users, but what about us newbies? So my question: Is there a way to make it so Google syncs everything *but* my Google Address Book, allowing me to only have my phone's contact list? What about hiding some contacts? If not, what are your suggestions for managing your Google contacts.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and flashed Fresh 2.0d last night, and all looks good until I try to use Google Voice. I get an error message of - We have a problem, Your phone number could not be verified.
I tried it several times and no go. I then downloaded and older version of Google Voice and got it to recognize my phone, but it won't take messages for missed calls. I called my number, let it go to voicemail, and just get dead air.
Also, received an email from this morning from the Android Team at Google welcoming me and my new Nexus One. I have a Sprint Hero. What's that all about?
I've noticed lately that both the Android search widget, and the HTC search widget are both not working properly. Prior to this issue, when I used either of the search widgets as I typed it would populate search results below the search text box. For some reason now this isn't happening. When I search now I don't get the instant results. I have to submit the search, and it will display the google search results in a browser window.

View 21 Replies View RelatedBecause I use gmail my contacts list on google is an insane mess...to deal with this I have my hero only sync my contacts in a group called, obviously enough "Contacts" - this is great - it gives me just the phone numbers of the people I actually call and speak with....but occasionally I do need to access a contact that I don't want saved to my permanent contact list...how do I view these contacts? Is there a way?
