View 7 RepliesSince flashing to a 2.* rom and back a few times i am now back on fresh 1.1 and I am trying to do a few updates and download new apps but everything hangs. It just says either authorizing credit card for paid or starting download for free apps. I have even let it go over night and it never finished.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor quite some time before getting my Android phone, I was using the iPod Touch, which would automatically tell me when there were updates for my Apps, and I would simply click "update" to update and install the latest versions.Recently, Facebook updated its App.I would not have known about this unless I read an article and went to the Android Market to find the Facebook App.It appears there are no automatic updates for Apps. Is this correct?
View 16 Replies View RelatedSo I rooted my phone, did a nanodroid back-up, and added a custom Rom. At first I flashed MoCaDo onto the phone but I had a lot of force closes. So I flashed Fresh .5 over MocaDo 1.1 and the force closes stop. The phone feels a lot zipper. I have WiFi tether. Spare parts is great. Now how do I move apps to the sd card to free up more space?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to remove Sprint's Stock apps on the Hero to free up memory. Ive only seen that rooting is the way to go but it seems too complicated. Is there a simple method?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMaybe I'm the only one, but I can't find something that the developer says is there. I'm trying to find FlightTrack and I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: flighttrack." When I go to the developer's site and scan the 2D barcode and follow the link I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: pname:com.mobiata.flighttrack"
The developer is talking to Google about it. In the meantime, can some of my fellow Hero owners who took the recent update see if they can see FlightTrack in the Market and report it here? Then I'll know that the problem is either limited to my phone or is a general one for Heros.
how do i get to the android app market and download apps?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know how to update apps using the Marketplace because the App link was now replaced by Sprint link in the Marketplace. Anyone else know how to update all apps that I've downloaded without having to search each app in the Marketplace?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had Shooter Lite (a free ballistics app) on stock Hero. Then I wiped and flashed Fresh. Now that app won't show up in the market for me.I know I read something about apps not showing up if the ROM is not "signed" by Google, or something. But the zip from Fresh 2.1.2 ends with "_signed_release". So what do you do to get missing apps to show up?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo what are some of the most trusted options for getting such apps?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just want to know if it was possible to rename apps that i got from the market? i downloaded a few apps like eBay app but it is called some other silly ass name and not called "eBay" and that is what i want to change it to. if this is possible please let me know how to do it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs we all know, the Hero was released with a battery drainage issue. After successfully following the instructions on how to circumvent the issue,I kind of had a feeling like I should be careful on which apps to download so as to not undo the workaround. (It did eventually happen but I have had to factory reset my Hero only once since then.) That being said, is it now safe to download apps willie nillie?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIve installed apps to my hero from my pc, but they arnt showing up in the market as being "installed", so they can be updated, etc.is there a way around this, & where do the apps get installed (directory) on phone.1 last think, if i install apps on my sd card & dont want them, do i have to uninstall them, or can i just delete them off the sd card?my phone is rooted, does this effect the phones ability to update itself to 1.6, im running 1.5
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe Market has been missing many apps lately has anyone heard why and what is happening?
View 7 Replies View RelatedToday i have been having some fun today downloading and yes buying (!) apps from the mkt. well, i started getting a little instability - i couldn't get an IP from my wireless router --- i had d/l "wifi keep alive" and "wifi reconnect" and "wifi reassociation". so i went to the mkt intending to uninstall one by one until i restored my ability to DHCP to the router. selecting the "downloads" section of the mkt revealed only about two pages worth of apps. believe me - i have a LOT more apps than that! mostly all the apps that appear are purchased apps (one exception - gmail is there too) - but even then, not "all" of my purchased apps are there! in doing my due dilligence checking to see if anyone else had this problem and solved it, i found this thread and this thread - neither of which have anything to say to help me. ANY idea how to get my apps to show up in the mkt? the apps themselves ARE STILL ON MY hero, they just don't appear in the mkt)
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen you root your hero and load a Rom, is the android market and all the apps still compatible?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently updated about 10 apps manually that I already had on my G1, since I saw them relisted in the market (again) but higher up on the "by date" tab. This system is horrid. If a user has an app and a new release comes online it should not only notify the user it should offer to auto update and the first screen that pops up should be a release notes screen so we know why it was updated and what to look for.Another more minor annoyance is that devs seems to lose track of download counts and comments in new vers. This is much more minor, but useful to both the community and the device. If anyone from Android peeks in here, hopefully this makes a list of suggested improvements.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt used to be the market would separate apps that were approved for auto update from those that had disabled auto update set. One could then simply hit the Update All (for the group) button and it would update ONLY the apps that were auto update enabled. Over the past few months Play Store has changed their behavior in that it no longer separates the apps and will only enable auto updates for everything or nothing.
How can I hide or otherwise prevent these few apps that I do not want to update from being in the play store update list? As it is now, I have to selectively update each individual app from the list, skipping the few apps I do not want updated.
Currently on a Samsung GS3, rooted, stock.
Not sure if anyone has noticed or if its just my phone.Im running the OTA2.1 rooted with the Aloysius Rom(has happened with other roms also) and it seems like every app that i have installed through Astro Manager doesnt show/update in the market.is anyone else having this problem whether your phone is stock or rooted?
View 12 Replies View RelatedMidwest here again. Since I was brave enough to post a message about PDAnet, I figured I would ask this as well. I never had a phone with GPS in it before. Can people track my location? Can I turn this "tracking" off should I wish? And is there an easy way to check for it in the phone: Sprint Hero by HTC.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have come across several sites that advertise that you can spend $9.99 a year and get all the apps that are on android market for free. How legit are these sites. The site that I keep coming across is url removed I have come across others, but I can't think of their names. Does anyone use this route to get apps? If so which sites do you recommend to use.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have had my instinct since 10/15 and the track ball is already getting dirty and sticking. i have never used a phone with a track ball before so i am looking for tips and advice on how to clean it and keep it clean.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo a guy I work with has a Droid Eris and the ball will light up when he has a missed call or a text. Is there a way to get the Hero (sprint) to do this? Also it seems the phone has two lights on the front? I have only seen the red/green light, light up.

View 12 Replies View RelatedSprint gears up for more Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile goodness Boy Genius Report
Sprint said itself that the Hero/Moment would be getting software updates. They didn't say 2.0, but HTC already said they're skipping 1.6 for 2.0. It would be suicide for Sprint to go to 1.6 when Verizon will have 2.0 in 3 days.
Yay Sprint! Now don't be too laggy in releasing this! My phone has SO many bugs it's not even funny!
Don't know what happened but the my downloads section looks like it does after a factory reset, with all the free downloads not listed, the difference though is that if I search for them in the market, they all still show as installed. anyone have any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to download some FREE apps from google play without having the market installed. To make a long story short: I don't like the market to know what my phone runs. So is there any software I could download there free app "My Callya" with? Have looked everywhere on the interwebs, but can't find it. I'd be more than happy about a download link to it though.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI finally got rooted backed up and flashed now can someone please tell me how to turn off auto updates to ensure I can maintain my root status
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using CM6 and it had an option that i could unlock the phone by double pressing the menu button or by pressing the trackball. Now I am back to Darchdroid v2.8 because i like it way better than froyo, but the only way to unlock the phone is by sliding the screen icon. Is there a way to re-enable that menu/trackball way of unlocking the phone? I am using launcherpro 8.1 as home screen, not sure if that makes a difference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm an adroid newb. just wanted to get it out there.First thing i've noticed now is this worrying trend of us consumers being dependent on the good graces of the manufacturers depending on them for OS upgrades and we all know they never really care or are motivated with providing something for free.It seems like the same problem as the Laptop PC market has with them being slow releasing new drivers making our choices of which Linux or windows one wants to install limited and the negative performance impact that follows. My having to install drivers in compatibility mode on my HTC SHIFT to be able to run win7 on it which is waaay better on such a slow machine rather than the originally bundled vista.SO, to the point. What android smartphone builder are generally considered the best and fastest, most reliable at releasing these new updates Froyo and future versions. If i wanted to buy a real top-of-the-line model which would make the best investment, like will any of them get android 3 updates when it becomes available?
