I have them backed up via htc sync, and it doesnt backup the pictures with them. suggestions? i have over 300 ppl in my phone, it was a pain in the ass the first 2 times editing each one and cropping a pic for the contact pic.

I was reading a previous thread about blury contact pictures so I thought I would try to assign pictures to some of my contacts. I looked up the instructions in Gmail Help and they refer to a picture section in Contacts. The problem is I do not see any reference to pictures in either new or existing contacts or edits. Am I missing something or do I have a old version of Gmail if there is such a thing?

If I match pictures to contacts on my phone will it sync with my web mail contacts, or will it work if I sync my google contacts on my web mail, then sync to my phone. Will either achieve my goal of having the picture attached to the contact on both my phone and web browser? OR must I do each one on the phone, and on the web mail browser?

So I spent over hours trying to figure out a way to do it and eventually forced me to create all my contacts in my PC (which I just import/exported to my gmail account), but that took me about an hour or 2. So I was wondering if there was some way I can backup my contacts FROM the phone, directly onto gmail, or a contacts file. I made the mistake of linking my Facebook to my contacts when I first got my EVO, so my address book was a complete melting pot of mess (Facebook friends, imported contacts from my Blackberry, and others) and it absolutely drove me up the wall. I figured out how to unsync my Facebook, and I did.I now have two problems. I imported all of my contacts from my Blackberry to my EVO and two things happened. Most of the numbers didn't come with them, and all of the pictures from my old berry did. Elsewise, this phone is still finding Facebook contacts and linking them with imported contacts. I'm going bananas.I need to find a way to mass delete the low res contact pictures from my contacts, find a way to I guess "link" or find the numbers for all of these contacts, and a way to make this beautiful phone stop putting Facebook icons and low res pics on the people in my address book.

Installing apps, uninstalling apps, etc, etc. It has become a little laggy, certainly not as fast as when it first arrived. The main things that concern me are how to backup all of my contacts, including their pictures. As this has taken me some time to compile. I have backed up my contacts to the sd card, but i dont think this does the pictures as well.

I tried to use Google contact sync but that brings in all the people I have emailed and is not specific to just phone numbers. I am currently on 1.5 (am using PCCW/Hong Kong) and I see via HTC's website that they have announced a 2.1 OTA upgrade. I presume after the update I'll have to set everything back up (email accounts, ringtones, volumes, notifications, scenes)? I can copy my music and pictures onto my PC and I don't care about SMS.
I'll have to re-install apps and set them all back up too.
All I care about are my contacts really. I don't want to use HTC sync as that wants to copy them to Outlook and I keep my work contacts in outlook (not my personal ones). I don't use my google account for anything other than the market so I don't really want to sync with google.
Can I just copy them all to the SIM card? Will I lose pics and facebook links?
Is there any way or any app I can get that will let me use pictures I take as wallpaper? I mean I can set the pictures as my wallpaper, but I only see a small portion of it.
