My notification light comes comes on as it should , but only blinks for maybe two minutes then stops. Is there any way to have it stay on until you check ( like on all my other phones i have had ?

I have read and watched many reviews on the Hero and I have yet to hear or read about a notification LED light. I know it sounds like something that isn't important, but to me it is.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI know there isn't a firmware update but for the past 2 days when I go in and check for Firmware updates it says "checking for Firmware update" then it just dissapears, it no longer comes back with "No update available". Anyone else having this problem? I powercycled and pulled the battery and it still does this. It also fails updating my profile and fails updating the PRL. All other data features work just fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when viewing the screen in a darkened room that the screen is actually too dark. Yet in a normal setting that the screen is correctly lit. I've tried increasing the intensity to maximum with the sensor enabled and it's still to dark in the darkened room. Now, I've disabled the sensor entirely and the screen just runs wide open all the time - day or night.
Has anyone else felt that it was too dark in the darkened setting? I'm wondering if there is a setting (probably not yet written for the phone/OS) to vary how linear the light sensor is at darker levels? Maybe a 'minimum darkness' adjustment?
I find this extremely annoying that at night when I am using the scroll ball that the thing keeps lighting up, and then shutting off, lighting up..etc.
Is there a way or an app that shuts off the lights to the hardbuttons/trackball?
This is especially necessary in the day time when i can see the buttons, i don't need them illuminated.
When I owned a palm, there was a program call KBlights... shut of the keyboard, hardbutton lights.
Ok, sSand it wont do anything but light up green. Even if I go through and push call contact still nothing. Not even with the green button.? I did get a force close of android phone (I think that is what it said)

Is there a way to make your phones screen light up when you receive a text message? Also is there a way to set a reminder like every few minutes that you have a text message? Anyway he was on this website to check his internet speed on his pre and so I wanted to check mine. I was averaging ~500kbps and I hit 1000kbps once. But my friend, he was averaging 8.5MBps, yes MBps. Obviously same network, at the same time. What up wit dat?
We also tried to go to websites we had never been to at the same time and he was beating me pretty handly. Anyway, I wanted to see what you guys were getting? Site is mobilespeedtest.com, then it run test and post results! Whoa, just did it right now and I got 1311kbps.
Does anyone else want the stock (white) nofication bar on the Sprint Hero? If any one has it on their please share how to get it. I think because its a HTC phone it is made with the black bar, but is their anyway to extract the APK from any other android phone if such a file exists and just install it on the Hero, I really prefer the white one.

Battery life has been just fine(And thats with the system at 100% lol), and the apps are amazing. But I have a question. I noticed there's two LED lights at the top of the phone. Yet I've only ever seen one light up! Is this how it is for everyone else? Only my left one lights up(green for texts, and amber for charging). And my friend's G1's Scroll Wheel also lights up, and was just wondering why ours doesn't.

When checked, it states "deselect to conserve battery"
So, the question is, should this be enabled?
I imagine for some applications, knowing your precise location should be useful, especially if the turn-by-turn maps are installed and used.
I'm thinking to deselect this, and selecting it at times when I need it.
