Sep 16, 2013What is weird to me is that on the closeup line graph the second half plummets much faster than the first half. But at the same time, the second half doesn't nearly have as many wakelocks (as indicated by the "Awake" bar being basically completely empty during that time.
What the mobile network colours represent but I never had this problem previously with it on all the time so this shouldn't be an issue. GPS is always on. Again, this was never an issue until supposedly now so this also shouldn't be an issue.
Now, the four big drainers are Cell Standby, Android System, Google Services, and Android OS. Cell Standby I know is due to a missplaced decimal point in the framework, so I know that's just false battery recording. Android System I don't have a clue what the problem is, I read somewhere it might have to deal with wakelocks. But it won't tell me what process exactly is causing battery drain. Google Services are well, google services. I don't know what are classified as google services exactly (like this was never a problem before..), and finally Android OS. Again, the battery statistics thing isn't nearly specific enough.

Jun 3, 2014I just got a new AT&T Radiant (aka ZTE Z740). I had it for a few days while I waited for a SIM card to come in the mail, installed one app, and just got a feel for how it worked on wifi. (I've never had an Android or any smart phone before). Last night after activating the phone and setting up the data connection with Consumer Cellular, I noticed that the Chrome browser icon was missing from the app tray. I don't know exactly when that happened, but it was possibly related to the data setup process.
I've searched Google and the forums here and haven't come up with a solution. I've seen suggestions for unhiding icons, but I don't seem to have the option to hide/unhide icons, or at least I'm not finding it (if I hit the menu button from the app drawer, I just get 'manage apps' and 'system settings').
I also a suggestion to look at the disabled apps list, but the 'manage apps' function doesn't indicate that Chrome is disabled. It is still there - I don't think it can be uninstalled.
I'm not sure what else to do. Is factory reset the next step? Not looking forward to setting up the data connection again (I guess I would need to go through all the settings and write them down, unless there is a way to back them up).

It's really annoying to have to slide the notifications , on iPhone you just have to wake the screen to have a look on all your notifications (and i'm not even talking about the fact that the screen didn't switch on when you receive an email or sms on JB)
I'm using for now Widget Locker with Executive Assistant but there is a lot of things that's going wrong....
SO, is there a way to have the notification screen instead of the lockscreen...? I think it would be a great feature for customs roms!

Jan 16, 2014Galaxy S4 on 4.3 using stock email app for Exchange connectivity. (Verizon)
I receive about 100 new messages a day from our Exchange server. 1st email comes in for the day and I get a from and subject in the status bar. Messages after that show : (message count) new messages blah blah. By the end of the day it says I have 100 new messages. If I clear the notification, the next time I get a new email, it says 101 new emails. The "clear notifications" does not reset the count! It does for Gmail, which makes sense. The only thing that will reset the count is by going into the email program and then exiting back out. This is a bug, right? I realize I can "drag down" and get more detail on the messages, which is great, but I want the count to reset when I swipe the notification away.
I am writing an app for a smart watch and the problem lies where everything after the first message is not giving me the detailed information I need for my app. As a human using the phone, I can just launch the email app. No big deal. Can't do that from a watch when the phone is locked.

Oct 23, 2013I've a couple of Android devices, and I'm looking for an application that will email me (once) when the battery is full, (or when the battery is almost dead).
I don't always stick around when it's charging, so having it just make a sound when it's full doesn't catch my attention. Being notified with an email before my device's battery dies, would catch it and recharge, before I have to do a long recharge session.
Email just works best for me. I've checked around, and it doesn't seem that an app like this is out there. Having a notification via prowl/growl could work too, but less so than email.

May 18, 2014I just bought an Alcatel One Touch Pop C1 with Android 4.2. The internal memory has the folders /Music, /Ringtones, /Notifications and /media/audio/notifications (among others). My files are all fine oggs with a title tag at the very least.
Copying my oggs into /Music makes them show in the standard music app and they play fine. Immediately after copying them into /Ringtones, they all show up under ringtones and I can set any of them as my ringtone. However, none of it works for notification sounds. The notification sound picker has no Add button (the ringtone picker does) and the picker doesn't list anything except the default sounds (the ringtones picker shows every ogg there is). The option in the Messaging app shows the same unuseful picker. Rebooting doesn't work, having the files in any combination of the folders doesn't work.
In addition, the standard Contacts app doesn't seem to have a way to set a custom notification sound per contact (again, it does for ringtones). I'd like not only calls but also texts from certain contacts to have a custom sound.

First three or four time i tapped and hold and its took me to Language and input option and shows me that update and every time it stacked on 64%. after that when i again i tapped and hold it shows just app info nothing else and i cant remove it from my notification area. Its very annoying to see and some file goes to queue under it too download never start and i have to restart downloads. I am using android 4.2.2.
