Sprint HTC Hero :: Can't Mount To Put Music On Or Move Pictures Off
May 14, 2010I downloaded the sync from the sprint site (the current one they now have up) thinking I might need it for when 2.1 comes out (whenever that is now) I started the installing of it then I got some kind of warning saying that something wasn't compatible and it could ruin either my comp or something. How do I fix this I uninstalled what was put on but not it doesn't even recognize my phone anymore so I can't mount to put music on or move pictures off

For example, say I am on a website and I see a picture I like how do I save it to my phone? You can't click save as anywhere, can you? Is what I'm wanting to do called taking a screenshot? Is that what's it's called on the ipod touch when you click the two buttons and it saves it? If so, I'll go to that thread. Oh, also, when would I use the footprint widget? Does that just save a bunch of pictures for easy viewing?

1. The speakers on the laptop serve as a wireless speaker system when you make or receive a call.
2. The speakers also play music from your Hero.
3. Transfer files to and from the Hero
4. Send a fax
5. Tether!
6. PIM sync (hello WinMo users!)
7. Wireless printing
I've performed all of these functions without a hitch. So the Hero looks as if it's a better phone than anticipated... at least for me anyway.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Tethering To Laptop - Application To Do It?
Jul 2, 2010I am trying to go wireless and get rid of my DSL I have tried US Cellular tethered, abysmally slow. I tried Verizon, fast enough, very expensive for what you get. Now I am trying Sprint with a Hero and a Samsung Moment to use as phones etc, plus tether to our laptop and desk top to use as a modem. The Sprint store personnel tell me that it can be done, just not something that Sprint will tell me how to do. One of the young ladies tell me that there is an AP that I can download to do it. She uses her Hero as a modem all the time. What would I need to do?

This is what the Tips thread said:
To add new ringtones or SMS alerts, connect your Hero to USB and mount the device on your PC. Browser to the following folders:
Ringtones: /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
SMS Alerts: /sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Alarm Alerts: /sdcard/media/audio/alarms
However, I cannot find the media folder. Or maybe I have not even gotten to the sd card! I was able to add wallpapers and actually use them, so I did something right along the way.
So, if anyone wants to help a new android girl with this probably very basic task, please do!
I also synced all my contacts and my calendar from my GMail account. So, not 100% lame.

When I open my media player, I have the option to sync. I select the songs I want but when I go to sync, it sync's everything, not just the songs I selected. How does everyone else get music on their phone.

I looked up the instructions in Gmail Help and they refer to a picture section in Contacts. The problem is I do not see any reference to pictures in either new or existing contacts or edits.
