I'm new to the forum. (Love it so far). I have a HTC Hero on Sprint and for some odd reason it just stopped allowing me to send messages that I have attached pics to. It also tells me that I have reached my size limit if I try to attach more than 1 pic to a message. It's very frustrating and I have reset it several times (taken out the battery for a few mins), but nothing seems to be working.

I am having is when I try to send a picture through picture message I get an error saying message size limit reached, you cannot attach this to your message. So in order to send a picture this way do I have to either:
a. change my camera settings to lower resolution?
b. is there a program or setting to automatically send a smaller image and keep my high res photo?
Obviously I would prefer option B as this camera rocks and takes some good pics.
How do you Bluetooth pics from one phone to another. Turn both on paired them nut can't figure out transfers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI did the 2.1 upgrade and camera seems to have same lagginess. Does anyone have any pointers for how to set camera for responsive pics (I have a 2 year old)? I remember seeing some tips when I first got the phone last year and it helped...I'm having no luck my own. Also, when I go to send a pic with text, it is compressing the pics very small and the quality goes to crap. Went into text setting and set the file size to the largest, but it doesn't seem to help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was told by a Sprint rep that if the phone memory gets below about 80 MB then the phone will start to lag. Well I can't seem to delete enough stuff to get back above 80 MB available memory, I deleted pics, texts messages and various apps that I would have liked to keep. I started playing with my wife's phone which has more apps then mine, I checked her available phone memory and she has 102 MB!!! I can't figure out what I could have on my phone memory that would be taking up over 20 MB of space. Where can I look to try and figure this out? My wife's phone is very zippy and quick, while my phone waits forever when switching apps.
Also, How do I transfer pics I have taken on my phone to the SD card instead of using phone memory?
I am attempting to delete text messages from my "messages" app and every time I choose delete it freezes and causes a Force Close pop-up. Anyone know why it might do this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my sprint hero from day 1 and till this day I cannot delete my texts from anyone. If I try, my phone just crashes. my phone is so slow and my gf is such a snoop on my phone and I want to delete my texts from other people. I downloaded Delete Old Messages and I always try and delete stuff. It will try and delete them all, like around 3,000ish and I will leave the phone alone for like 4 hours and only around like 30 will be deleted.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just posted a new status on facebook, and stayed on there for 10 minutes. My phone is set up to receive the comment updates. On facebook someone left me a comment 2 minutes after i put it there and my phone got it 7 minutes later. Come to think about it, I barely get any text from facebook. Does the hero have some sorta delay? or could it just be sprint? I have wifi and mobile on so idk how this would work at all?

Once I do call. i get like 5 messages. anyone else have this problem? Quite frustrating. Called sprint to reset network n stuff but still no resolution. They said to hard reset but I'm reluctant.

Also, recently (as in today). My phone has been sending messages to other people, randomly. I got a phone call from my mother but it popped up as a totally different number.

It now shows a box that says download and when I push the download button it doesnt do anything. Before the pic or video would show up, all I had to do was hit the play button and I could view the pic or video.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI love my sprint hero, but am on the fence about sprint itself tons of people have told me how they hated sprints service, customer service, etc..my wife and I thought the ability to send pics via messaging is a cool feature however it doesn't appear to work all that well.have tried the built in and also handcent messaging. am connected currently via my wifi at home and that doesn't help either. i realize there are probably size restrictions ( size anyone) but it should work sometimes.also the voice record feature on handsentend feature doesn't work either.

I have 1.5 on my phone on 2.1 is this issue fixed I will risk the trouble just to send pics. I can't find a solution other then going on sprint.com/picturemail and I'm tired of doing that now.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDidn't wanna hijack the other thread, so I wanted to share some pics of the Innocase II that I received today. I used there products for my Curve (made it too bulky) and the 3GS (perfect case it was). Buying this case was a no brainer IMO since those silicon cases collect tons of dust. Best Buy gave a free OEM Hero skin and WOW it is a dust collector. This Innocase gives the device a better grip and makes it a touch thicker, which IMO makes the phone a better handheld device to hold. Also covers up the blah grey color. As you can see from the pics, the slider case is a great fit and gives a nice "lay on the table" design, which I love.Not much more to add, but for anyone looking for a case, this has to be the best case made for the Hero.

If they are not stored locally, is there an app that does this? I have SMS Backup, but i want the MMS files to be local on my SD card and in an album as all other pics/vids.

It was 9mb of precious space and when I connect my phone to my PC I cant find it anywhere and I for sure can't find it anywhere on my phone. I also have a ton of pics on my card apparently from viewing pictures through email. How do i delete this junk. The pics don't show under gallery they just showed up when I transferred pics to my PC.

View 20 Replies View Relatedthis is my first time post but I've been looking at this forum for quite sometime. I got my hero about one week ago and its been great. I have not had any problems with it and it is actually really fast and I have not had any lag on it yet but I did have my first problem yesterday. For some reason my phone stopped recieving texts but i would be able too send them and my friends would get them but i still would not recieve any of their texts. I tried texting allow all to 9999 but still nothing so i did a soft reset and it worked! btw im using handcent and neither handcent or the stock messaging app would recieve texts but i did have over 120+ up hours and an awake time of 20%. would that have to do with anything? im not rooted and i did uninstall recent apps to see if that was the cause but it was not but has anyone had this problem?

What are the advantages of using the stock messages application? I almost immediately downloaded Handcent after reading all the temporary fixes. So I am not aware of the advantages of it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased the HTC Hero from Sprint around a week ago, and it came with a stock 1.5. Had no issues at all, so today decided to try out the leaked 2.1 RUU. Updated without a hassle, but I've been experiencing some issues. This led to me repairing the bootloader and then trying DamageControl 2.08, and now finally fresh 2.0d. All installations went perfectly, nothing to call home about.
It cannot automatically detect my timezone, and it has no clue as to my location for weather nor other features. When I enable the GPS to go onto Maps, it locates me as around 1,000 miles off the west coast of Africa, whereas I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. I can call my phone from another line, but no response on my phone (no calls received, nor missed calls). When voicemails/messages come in, they flood in (10 new messages, etc, that have all stacked up).
I'm using the Wireless Tethering that comes with Fresh 2.0d, and I used PDANet/EasyTether prior to now (as my sole internet is tethering). I'm wondering if this could have at all affected it. Even with tethering disabled for a good hour, still nothing can reach me. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be greatly appreciated. (Perhaps a radio update?)
I can't receive any text messages. I can send messages just fine, but when someone responds it does not come in. I was using handcent and uninstalled it to reinstall it and now I can't reinstall the application. Am using the default messager and still nothing.
