Sprint HTC Hero :: Lines Through Pics When Take Picture / How To Fix?

Sprint HTC Hero :: All Of Sudden 2 Lines Appeared Across Screen Horizontally About 1" Up From Bottom
Oct 31, 2009So last night I was riding in the car using my hero. All of a sudden 2 lines appeared across the screen horizontally about 1" up from bottom. Can't fix it. Tried a hard reset to factory and still there. Any suggestions? I am traveling in Chicago today so will find a sprint store for exchange. I have TEP. But at 2 days old should it just be swapped for a new one and not affect TEP?

Jan 26, 2010For the past 3 days, everytime someone sends me a text with an attached picture it will not show up. It now shows a box that says download and when I push the download button it doesnt do anything. Before the pic or video would show up, all I had to do was hit the play button and I could view the pic or video.

Jan 11, 2010I love my sprint hero, but am on the fence about sprint itself tons of people have told me how they hated sprints service, customer service, etc..my wife and I thought the ability to send pics via messaging is a cool feature however it doesn't appear to work all that well.have tried the built in and also handcent messaging. am connected currently via my wifi at home and that doesn't help either. i realize there are probably size restrictions ( size anyone) but it should work sometimes.also the voice record feature on handsentend feature doesn't work either.

May 30, 2010I get pics and forward messages that I can't view.. Plus I also like to send pics to people. I have 1.5 on my phone on 2.1 is this issue fixed I will risk the trouble just to send pics. I can't find a solution other then going on sprint.com/picturemail and I'm tired of doing that now.

Nov 28, 2009Didn't wanna hijack the other thread, so I wanted to share some pics of the Innocase II that I received today. I used there products for my Curve (made it too bulky) and the 3GS (perfect case it was). Buying this case was a no brainer IMO since those silicon cases collect tons of dust. Best Buy gave a free OEM Hero skin and WOW it is a dust collector. This Innocase gives the device a better grip and makes it a touch thicker, which IMO makes the phone a better handheld device to hold. Also covers up the blah grey color. As you can see from the pics, the slider case is a great fit and gives a nice "lay on the table" design, which I love.Not much more to add, but for anyone looking for a case, this has to be the best case made for the Hero.

May 11, 2010I'm new to the forum. (Love it so far). I have a HTC Hero on Sprint and for some odd reason it just stopped allowing me to send messages that I have attached pics to. It also tells me that I have reached my size limit if I try to attach more than 1 pic to a message. It's very frustrating and I have reset it several times (taken out the battery for a few mins), but nothing seems to be working.

May 22, 2010I did the 2.1 upgrade and camera seems to have same lagginess. Does anyone have any pointers for how to set camera for responsive pics (I have a 2 year old)? I remember seeing some tips when I first got the phone last year and it helped...I'm having no luck my own. Also, when I go to send a pic with text, it is compressing the pics very small and the quality goes to crap. Went into text setting and set the file size to the largest, but it doesn't seem to help.

It was 9mb of precious space and when I connect my phone to my PC I cant find it anywhere and I for sure can't find it anywhere on my phone. Apr 23, 2010So I was told by a Sprint rep that if the phone memory gets below about 80 MB then the phone will start to lag. Well I can't seem to delete enough stuff to get back above 80 MB available memory, I deleted pics, texts messages and various apps that I would have liked to keep. I started playing with my wife's phone which has more apps then mine, I checked her available phone memory and she has 102 MB!!! I can't figure out what I could have on my phone memory that would be taking up over 20 MB of space. Where can I look to try and figure this out? My wife's phone is very zippy and quick, while my phone waits forever when switching apps.
Also, How do I transfer pics I have taken on my phone to the SD card instead of using phone memory?

Apr 15, 2010I have not gotten my picture mail since The 1st of the month.I have gotten like 4 total that have slipped through. I have called Sprint like 8 times and was told it was a known problem with the HTC Hero. I asked if it possibly had anything to do with the 2.1 upgrade.I was told absolutely not! On the 7th, one operator told me that the upgrade was coming out on the 9th.On the 9th, no upgrade.So I called and was told that it was coming, but unsure when, but still unrelated.Called again this Monday, still a known unrelated issue. I was offered a service credit if $35.00. Called today and spoke with Operator Pamela. She told me that it is a known problem and would be fixed with the 2.1 update.She said it was suppose to come out on the 9th but got pushed to the end of the month.Keep checking sprint.com/download.

Dec 9, 2009I am having is when I try to send a picture through picture message I get an error saying message size limit reached, you cannot attach this to your message. So in order to send a picture this way do I have to either:
a. change my camera settings to lower resolution?
b. is there a program or setting to automatically send a smaller image and keep my high res photo?
Obviously I would prefer option B as this camera rocks and takes some good pics.

Mar 13, 2010well i got my phone two months ago, after 1 week of having it my picture mail messages were not coming in, they would get the download, then "unsuccesful download." After dealing with Sprint they convinced me it was a problem on 1 in 4 phones and i had to give up my brand new phone for a stupid refurbished phone. It ended up working until now, around 1 1/2 months.This is not a Wifi Issue, i dont have it turned on, and i am aware of that problem. I have 90mb free on my phone, ive cleared all my caches, pulled battery, turned mobile network off and on. Over the last month i have been getting the download button but they would come through. I would then get a picture message from someone i didnt have a conversation open with, then i would open it and the message would dissapear. Well now today none are going through, its extremely frustrating and i dont want to tell my fanboy iPhone friends they have to email me pictures.
The one workaround to go to the website and view them would be fine if i could view them on my phone. I dont want to log into sprint to view NWS pictures at work.I can log on through my phone, but when going to messages nothing shows. up.I know about the wiping the phone, but that is hours of work getting all apps, setting up my custom scenes, adding all bookmarks, adding all my passwords in the password keeper, rooting, adding all my roms and kernels again.THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING.I love this phone except for this simple function it cant perform.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Taking Picture Using Trackball
Apr 7, 2010I just got my Hero a few days ago, previously I had an Instinct. So far I love the Hero, but one of my few complaints about it is having to take pictures by pressing the trackball. The trackball just feels odd to press and most of the time I have to press it multiple times for it to take a photo. Anyone have any solutions to this? I doubt there is a way to change this in the settings, but is there an app or something that uses a more convenient button for photos?
