View 3 RepliesThis is probably something really simple but I'm curious how to view the files on your SD card from the phone.I had a PDF file on mine that I wanted to delete but I didn't want to format the entire card.I know I'm probably being a knuckle head but I just can't figure it out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've checked related posts and this question specifically pertains to the HTC Hero Sprint CDMA phone. Before connecting my phone to my PC desktop computer, I want to verify if this is the correct method: Question May simply connect my USB cable from my HTC Hero into my USB drive into my PC desktop? Will this pop-up the files, directly, etc? May I simply Copy/Paste the file(s) (pictures, etc.) into a file on my PC desktop hard drive? Is there simply a folder with my Micro-SD card files? Are there any other folders of files, etc. that may be on my phone which may be copied as well (i.e., Apps, etc.)? It's interesting to note that if an iPhone or iPod Touch is ever lost or misplaced, everything is backed up on iTunes on an external device. I suppose if I lose my phone, I'll have to start over. Correct? Or is there a way to backup Scenes, downloaded apps, customizations, etc.?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHey for anyone that needs a good memory card for their phone for music or whatever. I found a deal on a kingston class 4 8gb microsdhc for $16.95 with free shipping and no tax for most:
Kingston 8GB microSDHC Card - (Class 4) - SDC4/8GB - Buy.com
I got a 4gb memory card for my HTC Hero, I popped it in, etc etc... I went to download an attachment from an email, i selected "Save to SD card", the message popped up saying "Successfully Saved to SD Card". So I go to Quick Office and it says "No files were found on your SD Card" what's gone on here? I can see a picture I put on my SD card earlier on by going to "Albums" but i literally have no idea how to access other media I have stored on my SD card

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's my first time here and i received my new Hero (or T Mobile G2 Touch) yesterday so sorry if i'm asking a dumb question! I put the micro SD from my old phone into the Hero and as it's full up i was hoping to transfer some of the files onto the phone using the internal memory, but i cannot find a way of doing this. Also now that the card is full i am unable to take new photos cos there is no space for them to be stored. Do i have to do something to access the internal memory?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI already had one to replace the one that it comes with at home so I didn't have Sprint open it to replace it. I forgot to ask as well.I've searched online and the "chin" hero seems to have a little dent where you can prop it open. The Sprint Hero looks pretty solid... but I know you have to open it to replace the SD card so my question is how do I do it without ruining the molding?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this answer but didn't find quite what I was looking for. I have a file that I recorded with Voice Recorder app. It is saved as a .AMR file. I'd like to use this as a ringtone and send it to my wife to use on her PRE as a ringtone as well. I assume that I have to get it to a more usable format, like .MP3. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do this?

Once I've installed an .apk file, can I delete that .apk file off my SD card? Will it still function properly?
I just got a new 8GB SDHC card for my phone. I copied over all the folders that were in my old memory card and created an additional folder called 'music' and added a few mp3 files in there. When I try up the phone and look under music I do not see the new song files. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I might me doing wrong here?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been havng trouble emailing pictures with my HTC hero ("unable to send mail" notices) and wonder if others have had similar experiences. The problem seems to be worse with anything greater than the lowest resolution. Even 400kbyte pictures are a problem. I assume this is just a file transfer problem, not a camera app problem (the app from which the file is mailed). Mails w/o attachments go thru 100% of the time.
I spoke with someone at sprint today, and the first thing they told me was that I need to have at least three bars of signal strength, then I was told that higher resolution pictures can't be sent from the hero.
Given that Sprint does not have more that two bars in most of northern new jersey, this is a bit of a problem. If this is true, I don't think they should be calling this a data service.
For the most part, internet browsing and even video like youtube and TED work fine, and most the time I can get an EVDO connection.
Playing with it a bit, it looks to me like the issue is maintaining a solid data link to upload the file. I'd expect better with a TCP/IP connection, as I've had some experience designing that sort of thing. Late at night, if I get two bars and set the phone down so the signal strength does not waver, I can generally send even a 5 mpixel picture that's nearly 1000k.
I've tried this with the mail set to allow up to 1000k transfers and with no limit on transfer size, and that has no effect.
Some specific questions I have are:
1) Are others having this problem?
2) Anybody have a solution?
3) Anybody notice if it's network congestion related?
4) Anybody know anything about messing with the TCP/IP settings like timeouts and retrys to hold a connection on a spotty rf network?
Does anyone have the original preloaded files on their memory card that came with their phone? I accidentally erased them all and I'm looking to replace it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using Astro and i found the folder on the Hero that has all the boot images, sounds, and animations. i was trying to create my own custom animations and put them in there to replace the others. Well when i try to copy the files into the folder it says i have insufficient permission so i was wondering if anyone knew of a way around that without rooting or something like that!

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a hard reset on my first Hero, the factory/system wallpaper files disappeared. Thereafter, I was unable to set the background for the lock screen to anything but the default. When I go to set lock screen background, the device reports "no media found".
Now that I have another Hero, I would like to backup those 22 factory background/wallpaper files.
1) Is that possible? If so, how? Does it require me to root the device so I can actually "copy out" the files?
2) Does there exist a backup software that can do a full system file backup? If so, please recommend one.
3) I have seen several file manager-like applications. Do any of these applications browse system files and allow one to copy them? (Is rooting reqired)?
4) Does anyone have copies of the system/default wallpapers? If so, will you please zip them up and post it here?
5) WHY did the pictures disappear after a hard reset? If they are part of the ROM, why did they not return after a reset?
Is it possible that someone who still has 1.5 on their Hero to copy all the needed files for the COMPLETE boot sequence and post it so I can download it? Someone has already posted the HERO logo with the android waving but I would like the whole boot loop.
