View 4 RepliesI am using a custom ROM that apparently doesn't include a .pdf reader. Can anyone give me a quick source (link would be nice) to either the stock 2.1 pdf viewer, or point me to a good free one in the market? I'm leaving on a trip this afternoon, and will need to be able to read some .pdfs while away.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI will soon be upgrading from my Hero running v2.1 to Evo. I have MyBackup Pro on my Hero. I have two almost-identical questions:
1. When I pickup my Evo this week, if it is running v2.1, will MyBackup Pro be able to successfully "restore" from the Hero backup onto my new Evo? I guess the lower-level uncertainty is whether there are phone dependencies that would disallow running the restore if the OS's are the same.
2. The same question if I pick up the Evo and it is running v2.2.
I've installed MyBackUp Pro, but when I try and run it it asks me to enter the google order number, which I have. However, selecting the text field doesn't open the keypad, and I can't find a way of manually opening it, so I can't enter the number. Any suggestions? The alternative of looking up the details is no use as my name or postcode wasn't on the order.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a calendar app that is better than the HTC calendar? I've read that the HTC one is pretty bad. I only use google calendar right now so something that would sync with that would be perfect. I really want something that has a week view also.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having some issues with utilizing my Google Calendar on my Hero.
First off, I've always used my company's Exchange Server for Contacts and Calendar, simply because my Outlook is always open at work and it's easier than opening a web browser to access my Google Calendar and Contacts. The problem I've been seeing lately with my Hero, for some reason, is that the Exchange syncronization is out of whack. There are times where it acts as it should (it's set to sync "As Items Arrive") and other times where it won't sync for 12 hours. I'll look at my phone, and emails and calendar entries that have either been deleted, changed or added are not sync'd with the server.
Yesterday, I realized that Google has a sync client that can sync the Exchange with your Google Calendar, so I set that up on my work computer to sync every 10 minutes with my Exchange Server, and then set my phone to only sync/show the Google Calendar, figuring that I could bypass the potential Exchange Issues. I gave this setup a try, and the calendar became virtually unusable. It would take 40 seconds to open and perform any kind of action. Once opened, it would hang. I also noticed that under "Date Syncronization" in the Google tab, the Calendar was continually trying to sync (it was always showing the little sync circle) and the icon was a mainstay at the top of the screen. I've always had the Google calendar sync with the phone (no idea why, since I never had it viewed in the Calendar app) and I never saw this behavior (interesting note....I finally figured out why I was getting dual notifications on things even after dismissing....even though the calendar isn't being "shown" in the app....the data is still being synced and the notification will still go off...duh on my part). Could this constant syncing and hanging of the app be a result of the calendar continually polling my Exchange Server? I'd really like a way to utilize the Google Calendar sync on my phone without actually having to use the UI of Google Calendar on the computer.
I was flipping through my calendar on one of my home pages when it disappeared. Does anyone know how I can get it back? I really liked having the calendar up so I can see it easily.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA Calendar App for the Hero that (a) has holidays already plugged in (so I can look ahead and find out what day Christmas falls on, etc), and (b) let's me schedule things (vacations, trips, appointments and meetings) then reminds me of those things via something like a pop-up or text message the day before. Does anything like this exist?
Every App I look at has to be "synced" with something else, or just seems to have way more than what I need. Ideas? Bueller? Anyone?
i'm having an issue with my calendar notifications and looking for some help.i'm running the default calendar app that came with the phone and it is properly synched with my google calendar. the synching is working fine; in fact everything is great in that regard. the problem lies in that when i update something from my computer.say, i'm on my home pc and put in an event, even though it shows up in my phone, my phone does not give me a notification of the event.i have done a couple 'test events' and it appears that when i update an event from my phone, i get a notification.but when i update an event from my pc, my phone does not give me a notification.

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor the life of me, I can't find a way to search for entries in my calendar other than manually swiping left or right while viewing the day in time grid format. This works of course but it has some obvious limitations. Now I can predict that someone will say, just use the Gmail Calendar. This is because calendar entries input into the Web Gmail Calendar show up in my HTC Hero calendar and the Gmail Calendar has a search option; i.e. so I could go to the Web, open the Gmail Calendar and search for the item there. This method works, of course, but it's kind of double the work and forces me to depend on the web instead of my HTC phone where I'd prefer to search directly inside the default Hero calendar application.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI see lots of threads about getting reminders to go off, but I cannot figure out how to set the default for new appointments to have NO reminder. I can make an appointment and go down to reminder, scroll up to "none," but when I go to set the default reminder in the calendar I am offered 5 minutes and less. I don't want reminders, and I would prefer to have it default to none every time rather than having to go the extra step to set it to none. Is there a way to change the default to no reminder? I have set up my google calendar online to have none, but when I enter an appointment in my calendar it won't allow that.

View 12 Replies View RelatedThis is in reference to the one that comes with the phone. I like it because you can select a single calendar to show events from. I sync 8 calendars on the account I have my phone associated with but only want to see events from one or two on a widget. This widget seemed to answer that issue however anytime the phone is turned off and back on all that shows is the widget background with no data. If I delete and re-add the widget everything is back to good.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAnybody seeing this problem in the 2.1 Hero from the HTC community forum? Can somebody test this and see if this guy is correct? From Sprint Hero 2.1 calendar bugs! - HTC Hero (Sprint) - Android Forums - HTC Community "I just updated my Hero to 2.1 and discovered a bug in the calendar app. When I edit a multi-day or recurring event, I noticed the calendar automatically advances the start and end dates by 1 day. I must remember to set the start date back 1 day (which auto adjusts the end date) before I save the event. If I don't revert the start date, each edit causes the event to creep forward 1 day at a time. Another bug I noticed: if I go to a different date (not today) and view or edit an event, when I return from view/edit, the calendar jumps to today. In 1.5, the calendar would stay on whatever date I was viewing, even after a view or edit. This is especially annoying if I need to schedule several events on a given future date. After saving each event, the calendar jumps back to today, which requires me to again advance to the future date before I can create the next event."
View 1 Replies View RelatedI transitioned from a Windows Mobile Device that synced with outlook calendar. I often create appointments that recur a set number of times (say every Tues afternoon for 3 weeks). Outlook lets me choose when to end the recurrence. However, I can't seem to get the HTC Hero calendar to let me choose a stop date on recurrence. I can choose weekly recurrence, but no end date.
Anyone know how I can get end dates for the recurrence?
My appointments are coming up 1 hour late? Anyone have same problem? Daylight savings coming Mar 14 anything scheduled after that is being thrown off.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone heard anything about when this issue with Android and the calendar will be fixed?
I did some searches and this issue has been brought up as long ago as Feb 2009 on google's help page with a response from a google employee that the issue is known and being looked into.
Here's the issue: Whether you key an all day event into your google calendar via the web or onto your phone, the issue is the same. When you pull up the calendar via the monthly grid, you'll see the triangles on the days with events. If you click on a day that has an all day event (I'm not sure if this only affects 1 day events or multiple days) you'll drill down into the daily view and see the event at the top of the screen. So far, so good. The problem arises when you select the event. Under event details, the date of the event will be the day before it's actually entered into your calendar (i.e. a event for Fri 10/23 will show as Thu 10/22). If you hit menu and edit, the event edit screen now shows the correct date! The calendar widget will also show the event a day early.
For me, it doesn't matter if it's my calendar, my wife's shared calendar, google's pre-made calendars like moon phases or holidays, or whether the event was keyed into the phone or via the web interface. how many all day events I and my wife have keyed on our separate google calendars and while I want to see my current and upcoming events on my home screen with the calendar widget, this is just really irritating.
As you can see from my sig below, I'm a longtime PalmOS user. webOS has some nice features, but unfortunately the PIM apps are a major step backward from the PalmOS versions. SO, now I'm considering switching from webOS to Android and the Sprint Hero. The key for me is finding some detailed description or screenshots or video that show how to create events in the Android calendar and how to manage tasks. I really need a step-by-step explanation so that I can judge whether Android will be more efficient than webOS in using the calendar. I do like what HTC has done with Sense and Scenes, which would help me keep my calendar more easily accessible than in webOS.

View 3 Replies View Relatednow, when you press a date on the calendar, instead of a list of times of the day to imput event, you see event (if one is scheduled), Add event at top, and a weather widget for the specified day at the bottom. seems to be a week's worth of forecasts.that's all i've found so far, not bad for an incremental update
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have recently gone up from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0d. Everything is working great, but for some reason Exchange items are not showing up in the calendar. The exchange calendar is selected in the calendar selection option. Items added to the phone calendar as exchange items are synced to my Outlook/Exchange calendar, so there is some communication going on. However, my calendar stubbornly refuses to display the Exchange items.
Anyone know why this might be? I can't figure it out...
