Sprint HTC Hero :: Calendar Recurrence - Get End Dates For It?

Nov 10, 2009

I transitioned from a Windows Mobile Device that synced with outlook calendar. I often create appointments that recur a set number of times (say every Tues afternoon for 3 weeks). Outlook lets me choose when to end the recurrence. However, I can't seem to get the HTC Hero calendar to let me choose a stop date on recurrence. I can choose weekly recurrence, but no end date.

Anyone know how I can get end dates for the recurrence?

HTC EVO 4G :: Possible To Set Movie Reminder Dates To Calendar

Jun 11, 2010

I am new to android and coming from a pre like many of you.I was wondering if there is way with android to display movie times and dates in your calendar we were able to using synergy with the pre. When I would use flixster or fandango and look at upcoming movies, there was a feature where I can select "add to calendar" and voila! that movie scheduled date would show up in my calendar. It was pretty sweet and set as a reminder for me to know when that scheduled movie date and time were.

Android :: Comparing Two Calendar Dates

Aug 18, 2010

I wanted to compare the current system date to a fix date, but get the wrong result. By trying to find out what's wrong, The small differences for deltaOlder and deltaSystems are due to the execution time, that's no problem.But the results of the comparison of today (18th of August) and the first set date (1st of August) is wrong IMO. isAfter1 should be true and isBefore1 should be false;
The comparison with the second set date (1st of October) is ok.Any suggenstion what I'm doing wrong in the simple thing to compare two dates?

General :: Calendar Sync - Older Dates Don't Show

Sep 22, 2013

HTC One, gCal synced to iCal (OSX Lion) with no issues. All dates show on either calendar.

However, neither gCal nor aCalendar on the HTC show dates before August when I bought the phone.

I removed my google acct completely. Restarted the phone and re-entered the google acct. No change.

It seems out of the 5 calendars I use, only one shows all older dates prior to Aug '13. 3 Other calendars show all older dates Oct '11 to present. And the primary calendar doesn't show prior to Aug '13.

HTC Droid Eris :: Sync With Outlook Calendar - Contacts Changes Dates

Jan 21, 2010

Has anyone else noticed that an Outlook contact that has a birthday or anniversary date stored within the details, when sync'd to the phone is imported with 1 or 2 days earlier? For example my parents anniversary is stored in Outlook as June 4, 19xx and Outlook adds this to my calendar automatically. After syncing with my Droid Eris the Eris calendar item shows June 3rd. Then when I sync again it shows up in the Outlook calendar on the 3rd and the 4th. This has been going on for quite a while maybe since my 1st sync.

HTC Hero :: Looking For Specific Dates In Browser History / Connecting To PC?

Sep 8, 2010

Is there a way to look at specific days in the browsers history, possibly by connecting to my PC?

My bill lists two huge and expensive downloads and I am sceptical about them. I'd like to see what pages I may have browsed on those specific dates (about 2 months ago). The browser history is broken down into Last 5 days, Last month, and More than a month ago which isn't much help.

Or is there some kind of generic GPRS history I can access on the phone to see what connections were made at the time?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Google Calendar

Dec 23, 2009

I'm having some issues with utilizing my Google Calendar on my Hero.

First off, I've always used my company's Exchange Server for Contacts and Calendar, simply because my Outlook is always open at work and it's easier than opening a web browser to access my Google Calendar and Contacts. The problem I've been seeing lately with my Hero, for some reason, is that the Exchange syncronization is out of whack. There are times where it acts as it should (it's set to sync "As Items Arrive") and other times where it won't sync for 12 hours. I'll look at my phone, and emails and calendar entries that have either been deleted, changed or added are not sync'd with the server.

Yesterday, I realized that Google has a sync client that can sync the Exchange with your Google Calendar, so I set that up on my work computer to sync every 10 minutes with my Exchange Server, and then set my phone to only sync/show the Google Calendar, figuring that I could bypass the potential Exchange Issues. I gave this setup a try, and the calendar became virtually unusable. It would take 40 seconds to open and perform any kind of action. Once opened, it would hang. I also noticed that under "Date Syncronization" in the Google tab, the Calendar was continually trying to sync (it was always showing the little sync circle) and the icon was a mainstay at the top of the screen. I've always had the Google calendar sync with the phone (no idea why, since I never had it viewed in the Calendar app) and I never saw this behavior (interesting note....I finally figured out why I was getting dual notifications on things even after dismissing....even though the calendar isn't being "shown" in the app....the data is still being synced and the notification will still go off...duh on my part). Could this constant syncing and hanging of the app be a result of the calendar continually polling my Exchange Server? I'd really like a way to utilize the Google Calendar sync on my phone without actually having to use the UI of Google Calendar on the computer.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Looking For Calendar App For Phone?

May 27, 2010

A Calendar App for the Hero that (a) has holidays already plugged in (so I can look ahead and find out what day Christmas falls on, etc), and (b) let's me schedule things (vacations, trips, appointments and meetings) then reminds me of those things via something like a pop-up or text message the day before. Does anything like this exist?

Every App I look at has to be "synced" with something else, or just seems to have way more than what I need. Ideas? Bueller? Anyone?

Sprint HTC Hero :: How To Search Calendar Entries?

Jan 28, 2010

For the life of me, I can't find a way to search for entries in my calendar other than manually swiping left or right while viewing the day in time grid format. This works of course but it has some obvious limitations. Now I can predict that someone will say, just use the Gmail Calendar. This is because calendar entries input into the Web Gmail Calendar show up in my HTC Hero calendar and the Gmail Calendar has a search option; i.e. so I could go to the Web, open the Gmail Calendar and search for the item there. This method works, of course, but it's kind of double the work and forces me to depend on the web instead of my HTC phone where I'd prefer to search directly inside the default Hero calendar application.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Set Default Reminder In Calendar

Feb 17, 2010

I see lots of threads about getting reminders to go off, but I cannot figure out how to set the default for new appointments to have NO reminder. I can make an appointment and go down to reminder, scroll up to "none," but when I go to set the default reminder in the calendar I am offered 5 minutes and less. I don't want reminders, and I would prefer to have it default to none every time rather than having to go the extra step to set it to none. Is there a way to change the default to no reminder? I have set up my google calendar online to have none, but when I enter an appointment in my calendar it won't allow that.

Sprint HTC : Having Hero 2.1 Calendar Bugs - How To Remove

May 21, 2010

Anybody seeing this problem in the 2.1 Hero from the HTC community forum? Can somebody test this and see if this guy is correct? From Sprint Hero 2.1 calendar bugs! - HTC Hero (Sprint) - Android Forums - HTC Community "I just updated my Hero to 2.1 and discovered a bug in the calendar app. When I edit a multi-day or recurring event, I noticed the calendar automatically advances the start and end dates by 1 day. I must remember to set the start date back 1 day (which auto adjusts the end date) before I save the event. If I don't revert the start date, each edit causes the event to creep forward 1 day at a time. Another bug I noticed: if I go to a different date (not today) and view or edit an event, when I return from view/edit, the calendar jumps to today. In 1.5, the calendar would stay on whatever date I was viewing, even after a view or edit. This is especially annoying if I need to schedule several events on a given future date. After saving each event, the calendar jumps back to today, which requires me to again advance to the future date before I can create the next event."

Sprint HTC Hero :: All Day Event In Calendar Shows Up One Day Early

Oct 20, 2009

Anyone heard anything about when this issue with Android and the calendar will be fixed?

I did some searches and this issue has been brought up as long ago as Feb 2009 on google's help page with a response from a google employee that the issue is known and being looked into.

Here's the issue: Whether you key an all day event into your google calendar via the web or onto your phone, the issue is the same. When you pull up the calendar via the monthly grid, you'll see the triangles on the days with events. If you click on a day that has an all day event (I'm not sure if this only affects 1 day events or multiple days) you'll drill down into the daily view and see the event at the top of the screen. So far, so good. The problem arises when you select the event. Under event details, the date of the event will be the day before it's actually entered into your calendar (i.e. a event for Fri 10/23 will show as Thu 10/22). If you hit menu and edit, the event edit screen now shows the correct date! The calendar widget will also show the event a day early.

For me, it doesn't matter if it's my calendar, my wife's shared calendar, google's pre-made calendars like moon phases or holidays, or whether the event was keyed into the phone or via the web interface. how many all day events I and my wife have keyed on our separate google calendars and while I want to see my current and upcoming events on my home screen with the calendar widget, this is just really irritating.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Detailed Calendar - Tasks Info

Oct 9, 2009

As you can see from my sig below, I'm a longtime PalmOS user. webOS has some nice features, but unfortunately the PIM apps are a major step backward from the PalmOS versions. SO, now I'm considering switching from webOS to Android and the Sprint Hero. The key for me is finding some detailed description or screenshots or video that show how to create events in the Android calendar and how to manage tasks. I really need a step-by-step explanation so that I can judge whether Android will be more efficient than webOS in using the calendar. I do like what HTC has done with Sense and Scenes, which would help me keep my calendar more easily accessible than in webOS.
