I cannot get HTC Sync installed on my WinXP laptop. Based on all the posts I've read I'm not the only one with this problem. None of the posts seemed to have a fix and based on the comments of users who'd contacted HTC, they don't have a fix either. I don't want to beat a dead issue but how am I supposed to sync my phone and computer? Anyone know of another program that I could use in place of HTC Sync?

Lately it seems that installing or updating an app is about a 50/50 chance of failure. This is both before and after I rooted. Then I installed LithiumMod and see the same thing. It doesn't appear to be any particular apps, and I've noticed it most recently with pandora update, wow armory, angry birds lite, and others. It makes the phone very useless in the instance where I need a new app and can't get it to work.
Going to Settings > Applications > Market > Clear Data seems to work... again, 50/50. Doesn't fix it every time.
Any ideas? I've googled around and most solutions are the "clear data" method, or just "try it again".
I need some guidence please. I've been on a mission to sync my contacts to my PC and have failed. I understand the GMail Sync is there for me also, well i see i have apparently established an account when i first got the phone. The settings show it does sync with Google (show's last sync time stamp etc) but how do i view my account if i don't remember sign-in/password? I think i would need to start a new one (GMail Account) and this time save the log-in data.Two questions:
1. Can i retrieve from my phone the original Gmail info that is currently there?
2. If i need to create a new account; how to change it in the phone

I flashed from the old Fresh 1.1 to its latest ROM. I followed the instructions step by step. Now when my hero boots up i get "Sorry the process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly please try again." and "Sorry the process com.google.process.gapps has stooped." Then i get the "Complete action using" screen HTC Sense or Launcher. It seems like if i click HTC Sense i keep getting the Force Quit but if i select Launcher i get to the home screen but cant place phone calls......
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Hero is going haywire. I was trying to download some apps from the market today and they don't want to start. So I rebooted my phone to see if it made any difference. Now when it starts up I get error messages that the com.android.phone and a few others are not working and have to force a close. I have no service either. All the installed apps and components are working but not phone itself. I am with Cellular South in Mississippi and my wife has a Hero also which is working normally so I know it's not a network issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the past few days, ive noticed that when i delete an email on my phone, it doesnt actually delete it from my gmail, as i can still log into my computer and the emails are still there and unread. Then i noticed today that i cant send email from the phone. I have 2 emails that have been "sending" for the past hour. Ive tried both over 3g and wifi, neither worked. Im on the 9/25 nightly, a somewhat recent gapps (not sure of the date), but just upgraded the gmail through the market. Any ideas?

If you've been following this guide you will see your phone's serial number. If you get "device not found" error, you either need to make sure you the drivers were properly installed or make sure you enable USB debugging AFTER you connect the USB cable. Continue on once you get the proper phone serial output.

4: Code:adb shell
5: Code:chmod 0755 /data/local/asroot2
6: Code:/data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh You should see an output that says: $ /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh [+] Using newer pope_inode_info layout
Opening: /proc/857/fd/3
SUCCESS: Enjoy the shell.
#Now for a few last commands.
7: Code:mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
8: Code:cd /system/bin

10: Code:chmod 4755 su
You are now officially rooted. A few more steps and you will have flashed the recovery image.

I done the *#*#4636#*#*, the gps on networks off, auto killer on aggressive, battery defender and still her battery doesn't last. She keeps blue tooth on all the time and has three email accounts set @ every 15 mins. She says that when she was stock 1.5 it lasted all day. But the stock rom would restart by itself all the time. Boy I wish that I never rooted her phone. I've upgraded radio without any change in performance. What 2.1rom is easiest on the battery? Can I flash her back to a 1.5 rooted rom that is not a battery hog. I love my Fresh 2.0d I'm 75% at night before I go to bed. But I don't blue tooth either.

I flashed ZenEXP-0.9.7-O.zip and then flashed Zen-Aria_Alpha5-D-signed.zip. I think I may have done that incorrectly. Phone works perfectly otherwise.
Where can I change the MEID? Do I need to unroot?
Tried to buy game tower raider. Click buy entered info clicked download it failed hit install everything failed over and over. So i hit refund and said it refunded. I just went to the email widget, typed in my email address and password, and it autoconfigured the imap settings. Worked like a charm. Yesterday it decided to "authentification failed, please verify your username/password"
Well, although my un/pw were right, I changed my pw just to be sure I wasnt being a dumbass, no luck. I googled the problem and heard some people changed to pop3 so I tried those settings, no luck. I even tried changing my preferred location to asia, lol, no luck.
I see this has been a problem for a LOT of people since the beginning, but whats really bothering me is I had yahoo for a month...problem free. So whats the deal with this? I am NOT paying for yahoo. this crap makes me crabby!

a little background info, rooted my first hero no problem using fresh kitchen, but ended up bricking my phone. got my new hero today from sprint, came home connected it up to 2 different computers to try and root it but in both cases both htc sync and kitchen dont see my phone, but i can run the tests in kitchen and see my sd card if i mount it.my build number is 1.56.651.2 cl85027 release-key and it says my hardware version is 002 if that helps.

View 19 Replies View RelatedEver since I flashed to this ROM, I haven't been able to sync none of my contacts through the People app even though it says "all contacts synced" within Accounts & Sync. When I try to match a contact with their facebook account, "no matches" show and I don't even have a list of who I can choose.
Does this have something to do with the PRL not being 60663? Mines says 60662. I've tried every solution that was said in the forums. Delete then restart then readd the account. Still nothing.
Should I just reflash? I don't want to but my contacts look so boring without their pictures and statuses
Is seems like only contacts I have saved in my Google contacts are being linked. I thought The Hero would sync all information from my Facebook contacts. So even if I have not saved them I would be able to access their information on my phone, similarly to Palm's Synergy. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it works?

Anyone else having this problem and i have hard reset and checked all settings for data sync. I have not seen this problem so i am thinking it a software problem. I just want to know if anyone has setup using gmail and is getting mail pushed to them right away. Also i know its not push mail but it suppose to come kinda close.

I have Windows 7 64Bit and have downloaded and installed the latest sync as well as drivers and followed all the instructions I could find and it shows up in devices just fine but still just shows me as disconnected on HTCSync and in the sync settings on the phone. I download the 2.1 update and I'm preparing to Sync my contacts...can't do it. i'm not very computer savvy but here is what i've gathered: for some reason the driver for the phone is missing something. i've uninstalled and reinstalled Sync several times, still nothing. when i hook my phone up i get the little circle arrow thingy in the notifications bar and when i drop that and click on HTC Sync it says its looking for HTC Sync on my pc. after a minute it says it can't find it and that i need to install it. i've turned off or on the usb debugging, nothing. i can't seem to find anything on the internet to download the driver and don't know what else to do.

View 5 Replies View Relatedanyone experience this within the last hour or so?I noticed that i had to sign back into my account on "Social Networking" in settings, but nothing is syncing back up. they are all still sync'd (if you go into a contact on the computer, there is a "note" in the "notes" section showing the link), but nothing is showing up. I'm guessing eventually it will download everything again and I just need to give it time, and I'm also sure it's a Facebook issue thing, since they just updated and tweaked their UI, but i was curious if anyone else noticed this.
