UPDATE Using the manual method I got to step 18 of copy and paste of the commands. But now I got the "read error (out of memory)" message while pusing the "flash_image recovery recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2.img" file.

I have a rooted samsung captivate with sideloading enabled. After experimenting with different wifi tethering apps from the unofficial market, I began experiencing difficulties with my wifi connection. Even after uninstalling every app that I thought was changing the wifi state, the problem still persists. I can turn on the wifi and it will act normally for about 30 seconds before turning off without user intervention. In dmesg, the error is as follows: 'mmc1: Got command interrupt 0x00060001 even though no command operation was in progress.' Is this caused by an app or is this a more complicated problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the sprint HTC Hero with the latest update and when I'm to create a back up it doesn't let me do it. I then tried to downgrade the phone installing the the Sprint RUU and when I tried to install the AndroidSDK drivers I can't get to see the Serial Number of my device when I search in the command bar (following the steps of the Unlock). I'm using Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Any help will be appreciated.

From the command line:
An emulator is running. adb server is running. "adb devices" lists correctly and I can see my instance on an avd in the output.
However when I manually start DDMS from the command line it just keeps trying to connect. I can find no connection config issues. (yes, it works from within eclipse and ddms shows threads etc)

In past couple of days, users of my app have sent crash reports indicating errors in layout inflation.
"android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #27: Error inflating class java.lang.reflect.Constructor"
After some investigation I found out that all four of them were using the new Sprint HTC Hero devices. This error hasn't been reported on any other device/ROM nor could I repro it in the emulator.
I figured this is the kind of error that one gets if layout is too big or too wide. Although my layout is very well within the limits that Android framework puts, I split it further and asked the users to test. However, even with this fix the users are seeing similar crash while inflating the layout.
How I can proceed to fix/workaround the issue - given that I don't have access to any such device?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI've had my Sprint Hero for around 4 months now, it is not rooted, running stock 1.5.I was trying to check the marketplace for any updates to my apps and it brought me to the set up google account screen.I've tried signing in and It tells me that there was an error on sign in and my SIM card might not be provisioned for data. Obviously as a Sprint customer I don't have a SIM card, is there anything I can do to get things working again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my Hero two days ago. I was told to make sure there were to firmware or PRL updates. The Firmware said it was up to date. I tried the PRL update this morning and it said it could not be done now to try later. If problem persists contact Sprint. Error code 1012. I am not sure what PRL even is and does this sound like a problem on Sprint's end or my phone? Sorry for the dumb question, I am new to all this technology.

If my phone rings, and I ignore or miss the call, the caller will hear a recorded voice say "The number or code you have entered is incorrect, please check the number or code and try again. Message 7, Switch .."
BUT, if the phone never rings (like it cannot connect b/c of no service or in data and call never comes thru) then the caller is forwarded to my voicemail, can leave a message, and it comes thru on visual voicemail.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the voicemail app, no such luck. I think this may be a Sprint-side problem.

I'm using the smaller version (day view I guess) of the HTC Calender Widget.Under the calender settings --> views, I have "Include Weather" checked and a city is also populated, but the weather is not showing.On the widget itself, the day is on the left hand side, then on the right it just reads "No Events Today or Tomorrow".Where is the darn weather?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got a htc hero and I am very impressed with the phone and the os as a whole but I am having one small issue. I have a pair of bluetooth headphones and when I go to pair them I get an error that says "There was a problem connecting to NS-BTHDP." (ns-bthdp == headphone name). The weird thing is, the phone says its connect to phone audio, even though I never entered in the passcode. So I go and try to listen to music/podcasts and it plays through the speak phone.. but if I go to make a phone call it goes through the headset.I have no idea what the problem is, as these worked fine on my old gen2 ipod touch.Does the hero have limited bluetooth connectivity, or are the headphones not compatible? I would like to know more about the error, does android os have an error log that I can look at? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know that the USB ports are fine because other flash drives work fine, plus my phone shows as connected on my PC. The process has permissions to write to sdcard. Even then, I am getting the following error: java.lang.SecurityException: Process not debuggable: ProcessRecord{xxxxxx/xx}
This app has multiple activities and threads. How do I deal with this? I do not have the source code for this app and hence I do not have the manifest.
When I type ADB devices, it comes up with this error: 'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file. I already installed the adb drivers, and Windows told me the drivers updated successfully. Any idea why I am getting this error? I hope to be rooted by the end of the night!
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo last night i had my phone sitting on my dresser while i watched the dodger game about 2 hours later when i picked it up and attempted to check face book, it kept giving me error messages. Convinced that this was another stupid FB error i went to surf the web only to say I was not connected to a network. I looked at the top of my phone and i had 3 bars but next to there bars there was no 1x or EV signal just the bars. I went into my settings and un clicked the mobile network and then clicked it again and it worked This has happened to me about 4 or 5 times since i owned the hero since December. View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I've been having random problems with my phone for a few months now. Nothing debilitating, but enough to cause a hassle. I took it into sprint to see if I could get a refurb or something, and when the tech opened it up, she noticed the water damage indicator was red. Now, not only do I know for sure the phone has never faced water damage, but the sticker on the battery is still in tact. I am one of many who suffer from dust under the cover, so I know that if dust can leak in, moisture would seep in even easier. I looked on ebay to find stickers that I could just replace, but couldn't find anything with the same design/size. Regardless, the Sprint store said there was nothing they could do. Is it worth calling their CS? In all actuality, I'd love it if Sprint would just allow me to upgrade to the Evo with their discount, but i'm sure that's not likely.
