I've been having trouble with Facebook contacts ever since the 2.1 update.
I want to select a custom photo from my phone to use as a contact's picture, but no matter what I do, it always defaults back to their Facebook photo.
How do I fix this? It's terribly annoying that I can't keep the photo set for longer than two minutes.

I can't access my Facebook photos using the HTC Album app or any other HTC app like contacts, but I can access all photos of my friends (except for one friend). I've played around with the settings on Facebook, but I don't know if I'm missing anything. I've also been able to access all of my photos and all of photos of my friends (including the one mentioned above) using the BFF Photo app for Android.I can access all my photos from Flickr just fine, and I can upload pictures to Facebook just fine using Facebook for Android, but I just can't view MY photos using any HTC app. I can also update my status just fine using the HTC Facebook app. Any ideas on things I should check?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor most Google Contacts, once linked to a facebook account, properly display the photo as the contact photo. There are a few though that oddly don't. I can see their picture on facebook itself, it just doesn't get pulled into the Contact. I've inquired to these individuals and they don't seem to be using any particular privacy setting that would affect this.

However, I accidentally removed my facebook account which reset them all. As it had synced with Google already, I just resynced the links back to my phone, no problems.However, now all the photos have disappeared and short of unlinking and relinking anyone (which will take a long time...), is there a quicker way to refresh their photos?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today i wanted to upload a picture to facebook and when i did i saw that there were two facebook options to choose from.. i downloaded bloo the other day but ended up deleting it.. that was the only reason why i thought i might have two options.. so i deleted the facebook for android app to see what would happen and now it only shows one facebook option when i upload pictures.. i was wondering why i have 2. i would like to have the default facebook app, but idk where the other facebook option is coming from.. can anyone help me out?

Whenever I connect to the Internet, the custom pics gets replaced by their current Facebook profile pictures. Is there any way to disable this without completely removing the Facebook synch?

So here is my question, under Menu>Settings>Social Network> Facebook appears there. I have that set to update every 12 hours.
HOWEVER, my actual Facebook App is set to update every 2 hours.
So... does the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook control my facebook app or just the bookmark that comes pre-installed on the phone?
I am trying to save battery life, and I noticed that the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook were set to update every hour, but I had the settings under the downloaded app to update every two hours. My goal is to have only one facebook medium updating so I don't drain battery life!
I have not gotten my picture mail since The 1st of the month.I have gotten like 4 total that have slipped through. I have called Sprint like 8 times and was told it was a known problem with the HTC Hero. I asked if it possibly had anything to do with the 2.1 upgrade.I was told absolutely not! On the 7th, one operator told me that the upgrade was coming out on the 9th.On the 9th, no upgrade.So I called and was told that it was coming, but unsure when, but still unrelated.Called again this Monday, still a known unrelated issue. I was offered a service credit if $35.00. Called today and spoke with Operator Pamela. She told me that it is a known problem and would be fixed with the 2.1 update.She said it was suppose to come out on the 9th but got pushed to the end of the month.Keep checking sprint.com/download.

Unfortunately some of the contacts seem to keep changing back to the facebook photo after a short while, whilst others remain OK.I have been struggling with this for quite some time, each time I change the selected image back to google but it always changes itself back.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just cleared all my browsing history, cache, form data and all that stuff. Then I went to my bookmarks, where I have the touch.facebook.com bookmarked. I type in my username and password and tap the "login" key. I see the green status bar at the bottom of the screen start to go, but the page just loops. It does not login. Just keeps refreshing... if that makes sense. What am I doing wrong ?

Since that hard reset, my camera has decided when it wants to save photos and when it doesn't want to save them. Has anyone had this issue happen to them? Do i need to perform another hard reset? On all my old basic phones I could sort out my photo albums easily, placing family photos all together and nudies together as well. On this phone, all photos go in 1 of 2 places. If I take a pic with the camera, it goes in a camera folder. If I pull it off the web or save from a text, they go in a download folder. These seem to be my only options and my pics are a jumbled mess. I've read my book, played with my phone, been to multiple Sprint stores, and searched these forums to no avail. No one seems to know or care. Is there any way I can create new folders and move pics from one to the other?

View 2 Replies View Relatedwell i got my phone two months ago, after 1 week of having it my picture mail messages were not coming in, they would get the download, then "unsuccesful download." After dealing with Sprint they convinced me it was a problem on 1 in 4 phones and i had to give up my brand new phone for a stupid refurbished phone. It ended up working until now, around 1 1/2 months.This is not a Wifi Issue, i dont have it turned on, and i am aware of that problem. I have 90mb free on my phone, ive cleared all my caches, pulled battery, turned mobile network off and on. Over the last month i have been getting the download button but they would come through. I would then get a picture message from someone i didnt have a conversation open with, then i would open it and the message would dissapear. Well now today none are going through, its extremely frustrating and i dont want to tell my fanboy iPhone friends they have to email me pictures.
The one workaround to go to the website and view them would be fine if i could view them on my phone. I dont want to log into sprint to view NWS pictures at work.I can log on through my phone, but when going to messages nothing shows. up.I know about the wiping the phone, but that is hours of work getting all apps, setting up my custom scenes, adding all bookmarks, adding all my passwords in the password keeper, rooting, adding all my roms and kernels again.THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING.I love this phone except for this simple function it cant perform.
I just got my Hero a few days ago, previously I had an Instinct. So far I love the Hero, but one of my few complaints about it is having to take pictures by pressing the trackball. The trackball just feels odd to press and most of the time I have to press it multiple times for it to take a photo. Anyone have any solutions to this? I doubt there is a way to change this in the settings, but is there an app or something that uses a more convenient button for photos?

I was told that my phone will not do picture messaging, and that it was a phone limitation not a network one. Other users have picture messaging on their blackberries. Can someone recommend a good app for SMS and MMS that might allow me to send picture messages.
