Xperia X8 runs on a very outdated Android OS. Although it is due for an OS update to Android 2.1 in the months to come, my question is will it be updated to next level of Android OS ie 2.2 and 3.0? I have heard that it might not get 2.2 update at all, Is it true?

I have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.
Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
I tried upgrading my Xperia x10 mini pro but my PC freezes at point where update tries to install SEMC drivers.
I have tried following things:
-Disabled the Anti virus.
-Inset USB cable to High power USB port.
-Reinstalled PC companion software.
I have seen one post where manually installing SEMC driver has helped. But I could not find the SEMC drivers at Sony Ericsson web site. I am using Windows XP SP3 32-bit.
I have been using Xperia X10i from its launch. It was amazing when it was 1.6. Today it is 2.1 and the access is more to its core. Recently I have installed Z4 Root and ROM Manager. When I click on ROM Manager, it asks to select Phone Model. And in the list I do not find Xperia X10. Can I select any phone model and run the process. Got little scared, as phone might brick.
Besides, I noticed of custom ROM for Xperia X10i (FROYO 2.2)

In my box for my phone, there was an device i do not recognize.it reminds me of an usb device, and on the side it says "micro sd adapter".what is it for,and how do i connect it to the phone?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've just tried to update my X10 to the new 2.1 firmware, with absolutely no luck.I get through all the stages, everything works fine, no errors reported, everything reset on the phone, all looked great.But, when I check the version its' still at 1.6. And every time i connect it to the PC after the upgrade, it tells me there's an update available, just to go through the same thing again, and still leave me with 1.6.
Any ideas?I tried uninstalling and reinstalling PC Companion.No change. I'm on Orange UK, and the update only became available to me today.

1. I bought the new one before update software to R3AA035 - originally, can sync Only my contact, calender, and task in only 2 hours. I have some contact, but in other phone product, sync only takes 30 minutes. so special with XPeria X2 with WM 6.5

I read that along with 2.1 Android update, the X10 is also getting an update to be able to record in HD? I was wondering does this mean you will have to get another X10 for it to video record? Or can you just update your phone and it will be able to HD record?

T-Mobile only approved the update yesterday so I went to update it via PCC after updating PCC and Backup And Restore.Before I started updating, I backed it up. Now I started the updating process and I was on step 2. It asks me to remove the USB cable from the phone and turn it off. Then insert the cable back in WHILE holding the Back key. When I do this, nothing happens except PCC tells me that they can sense a Sony Ericsson phone. I've tried doing it more than 5 times and it's the same thing over again.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi got the update notification for xperia x10 few days back, i quickily connected it to pc using pc companion and took the backup, then i started the update process, it reached till prepared, and after that it started initialization, but here the problem started. it was showing the initialization for 4 hours,i thought may be it hanged so i stopped it and disconnected the phone and restarted the update process, same thing happened this time. the progress bar doesnt show any progress after initialization, it showed 100% in initialization after some 4 hours but after tht nothing happened.i dont knw the problem, it can't be network problem, as i have a 1mbps connection and i checked the speed also before starting the update,i kept the update process as it is for 10 hours, but it still didnt show any progress from the last time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedXperia X10 was rocking with the earlier android 1.6 version. Now with the android 2.1 update its even more rocking.WOW am loving it. Live Wallpapers is just mindblowing. The phone is still more improved with the update. Additional homescreens and the layout of the homescreen is changed and its even more attractive. New menu applications have been added. And messaging delivery reports pattern has changed. Calling interface has been given a change. These are just some of the changes I have mentioned. There are still lots of stuff which have changed. I thank sony ericsson for bringing out such a great phone. SE team and Xperia X10 Rocks.
