I am used to powering my phone off while charging it. On the Xperia as soon as I plug in the charger, the device turns back on. Is this normal? Is there setting somewhere I missed?

it works perfectly fine with main charge and usb charge and now it won't charge whatsoever no matter how i try. i did the factory reset on my x10. still it wont charge. btw when i turn off my x10 first, then connects it to the power. it would turn on my phone like others but just wont charge.
View 31 Replies View RelatedIM A DIE HARD FAN OF SONY PRODUCTS & USING SONY MOBILES FOR PAST 6 YEARS. My 1st mobile was 610T then 910i then 990i & then X1. Nw i got new X10 on 26th april2010 bt nw facing problems with it since 30/06/10. Its not starting up. It turns off & restarts by itself,had given it to the sonyericsson service centre on 30th June'10 at Jaipur (Raj). But till nw they hv not been able to resolve the issue. SO IM BACK TO MY X1 NW.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my X10 mini for a few weeks now and it's been working fine, but this weekend i noticed that when i plugged it in to the mains using the charger it failed to start charging. I also tried just using the USB connection with my PC but it also doesn't recognize it. My phone has now died and i have no way of making it work again! Infuriating! Has anyone else had a problem with this? The way i see it, i either have a faulty charging cable or the micro USB port has failed (a problem i jhave read is common in the x10?)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my update 3 days ago, and now I dont feel my x10 anymore. Its not special anymore.. Anybody knows how to go back to 1.6? I got unlocked rogers phone in Canada. My battery used to go almost 3 days, now not even 24 hrs!! It does NOT charge more than %91.. Texting is so harder now, touchscreen is sooooo sensitive. app. menu sucks.

Soetimeswhen i move the cable (Where it connects to the phone) around abit I can get a charge but lately nothing at all. Tried other usb cords and battery's and still nothing. View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst: I can't turn it on. When I press the on button my phone just vibrates (like those of the initial stage of turning on the phone) but there is no sony ericsson logo that appears and there's even no light in my keypads.
Second: I can't charge. I plugged my phone in the USB charger and only one red blink of light appeared, this appears like in a span of every 20 secs plugged in and not the normal charging light for my phone. I tried cleaning the ports for the USB charger even my batteries but still it doesn't work.
i noticed since going to 2.1 my battery wont fully charge. it stays plugged in on average 7 hours while i sleep and each morning its been around 90% full but no more. i know the battery will charge and discharge a little while charging but this one doesnt wanna go any higher.

Didn't charge.Tried the usb into the pc and got the battery with the lightning bolt symbol. Plugged into wall outlet wont work. What gives? I tried taking out the battery for 5-10 mins and still nothing. The guy at support asked if I could turn the usb the other way like I was an idiot, and I explained to him that it only goes in one way. Any ideas? I plan on taking it back if I cant solve it.

Sometimes it would charge then sometimes it wouldn't and it is already annoying the **** out of me. Another problem with it is that when I play music with it, it would just suddenly turn off by itself. I've tried to send it for fixing to sony ericson but they said that the problem is unfixable. And I only had my phone for 1 and a half month and im already having this problem. I tried to reason with the ericson people but they said there is nothing they could do.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPlease correct that by constructing a fixation for the USB-port on boardside, caused by the leverage-forces when plugging in or unplugging the charging-cable, so that it cannot break at the solder spots so easily any more. I think one or two gills, pressing from above onto the USB-Port, constructed into the case, would be enough to solve the problem. So the leverage-forces wouldn“t take effekt to the solder-spots of the USB-Port, but to the (new constructed) gills and the case of the X10.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was aware of the poor customer reviews of the x10's battery life, but it's turned out to be much worse than expected.
I will take the phone off of charge at 8am and ensure that no tasks or apps are running, not use the phone throughout the day, then by 3pm the charge level is around 30%. Often, if I don't start charging the phone at that point at work, the phone will run out of charge completely by around 4pm. I check throughout the day and tasks are not running, so how is the charge being lost so quick?!
This problem is not getting better: I read customer reviews saying that the battery problem improves after around the first month, but my case is the opposite - it started to get even worse after the first month!
I am also having a problem with adding contacts to the address book - all of a sudden it seems that I cannot add new contacts. I will add one contact, go back to the address book and see the new contact being displayed in the list, but when adding a second new contact both the first and second new contacts disappear. I do not have a problem with phone memory, I have tried saving to both SIM and memory, have tried backing up my address book in case that makes a difference, have switched the phone off/on again, but all to no avail. I have tried adding a new number to an existing contact and the new contact seems to disappear. It goes without saying that I have read the x10 instructions on this subject (and it goes without saying that I make sure to press save/done when adding the new entry).
It's got to the point where I am starting to regret choosing the X10. On the face of it, this is an excellent phone, but two relatively simple problems are ensuring that I feel like I own the poor man's smartphone (dare I say it, I wish I chose an iPhone now).
I checked with both my network operator and the shop I bought it from - unfortunately I am outside the 28 day initial period (I am in the UK), so the only recourse offered to me by the shop is to give me £20 to buy either a new battery or to buy a new cheap pay as you go phone so that I can return the handset/battery to SE. The problem with both options is that I am not confident that it will resolve the problem.
Anyone else had any issues like this?
Yesterday (08/08/10) my X10 said there was a new update available and to download correctly I needed to connect it to a computer update through PC Companion 2.0. I did this and followed all the on screen instructions correctly. I got to the final stage and it asked me to disconnect the phone switch it off remove the battery, reinsert and then turn it back on again. The instructions said it may take awhile for the phone to come back on again because the phone will be updating. So far my phone has not come back on again after 24 hours of waiting, all that happens is the sony ericsson logo is displayed for about 10 seconds and then the phone turns off then the same process is repeated. Any ideas whats happened or what I can do to fix this or will it be a job for Sony? I have emailed them but of course they were absolutly no help what so ever.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of upgrading my Xperia x10 to Android 2.1. I followed the instructions to update to the latest version of Backup and Restore using the
application on m.sonyericsson.com/backup, and it installed properly.
However, when I create a new restore point, and proceed to actually backing up my phone, it runs a few seconds backing up contacts and then
switches to a screen that tells me "Could not back up".
I've tried restarting the phone. Any suggestions? My backups from before the update this morning have vanished as well.
Can anyone tell me how to get my SMS settings back to UK. I have been onto Locale/Text but nothing is happening! I have English letters but have Korean symbols to change text to numbers etc. and lost the bar above the letters giving me word suggestions etc. I have switched off, removed battery and sim but still reverts back. Have TP Korean Keyboard icon but cannot remove or manage application.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been using Xperia X10i from its launch. It was amazing when it was 1.6. Today it is 2.1 and the access is more to its core. Recently I have installed Z4 Root and ROM Manager. When I click on ROM Manager, it asks to select Phone Model. And in the list I do not find Xperia X10. Can I select any phone model and run the process. Got little scared, as phone might brick.
Besides, I noticed of custom ROM for Xperia X10i (FROYO 2.2)
