i have a X10. I had loaded all of my contacts from BB via BT (weeks ago). Yesterday I noticed that all my contacts disappeared. Just says: "no contacts". The last thing I remember I did was an update to google maps (it took forever to load and yet the application does not work) The other key piece of info is that I use DME for corporate data syncing, emails etc.

First time unlocked using pc companion and update etc, which worked but she lost all her data. Now have tried gmail/ googlemail - still won't let her in. Also tried entering null into password.... still didn't work.
She is distraught. Is there ANY way of unlocking this f******* phone without losing all data and having to start from scratch?
Is it possible to create group contacts in your phonebook to send group texts to those contacts? If so, how could I do it please.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my 2.1 update this week in Belgium. As i was synchro'ing my facebook contacts in my phonebook, i noticed that my phone doesn't sync all my contacts with facebook. Wen i tried to do this manually per contact, some fb persons do not appear in my "choose contact" list however the contact has the same name in my phone as on facebook ? It appears that the sync is random in choosing the contacts and some contacts'fb profile don't appear if u do the sync manually ? Anyone with the same problem? Example: a friends name is Bianca in my phone, on her facebook profile the same name followed by familyname, but my phone doesn't find her profile when i search manually.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased the X10 this week and its all up to date with software however I am having major issues with phonebook. Whenever I try and add contacts to my favorites in phonebook they only stay there for a few seconds before they vanish. When viewing call log if I try and save a number by adding a contact again this will do it for only a few seconds and then just delete the contact.
Facebook links on the contacts aren't coming through and painfully slow to link all the address book up. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it? I have downloaded a different version of phonebook but I didn't think it looked as good as the default and want to make the normal one work.
I am saving contacts on my Xperia X10 and am not sure if they are saving to phone or the SIM card? How can u tell where they are being stored? Just now I am going into phonebook and selecting new contact from the sub menu once I hit the key on the left it then displays.

I've got my X10 yesterday, and was transferring my phone book across. But i use to have one name with 2 number such as "mobile + home" .. but it only transfered one across, so i want to edit the contacts, but it's really slow so is there a way i can link my computer to edit my phone books like the nokia pc suit. because I've downloaded a pc companion which does nothing except updating and transferring files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem for last couple of weeks - When I got the phone (around 2 months ago), I created all my main contacts, added their names, numbers and email addresses. So, at least a month goes by, but then one or two contacts start losing their phone numbers (the name and email address remains). I have tried everything from simply entering and saving the number again via the phone book and even adding the number from text messages sent by the person in question - each time I have ensured that I have clicked 'done' and/or the save symbol. I exit the phone book, but if I check back later it's been lost again. This seems to happen with only one or two particular contacts - I am not sure what is unique about them. Anyone got any ideas why this may be happening? I have read the manual re: phone book, so I am following all of the steps so I am not sure whether or not the phone has a fault.

This is no good, because I have fat fingers.
I have managed, in my clumsiness to join two contacts together that should not be. The unholy matrimony is causing me great distress, and I wish to undo what I have done.
To clarify, I've accidentally joined two contacts together, and can now neither delete the new merged contact, nor "unjoin" them.
I've tried turning the facebook and google sync off and reloading the backup I made from 1.6. All to little or no avail.
And by "little to no avail" I actually mean it didn't work at all.
Anyone know some super-secret insider knowledge on how to fix this shizzle?
Also, simply saying "run a repair on the phone to restore it back to factory 2.1" is no good, as I am highly likely to do this sort of stuff on a psuedo-regular basis.

When I help the name for a while, a menu would pop up and as soon as I entered view contact details, it forced closed. I deleted the app, in the hopes that I could re-install it from Titanium, but that didn't happen. I've checked the market but cant seem to find it. In 1.6, all I had to do was tick off "data roaming" in the Mobile Network Settings to make sure I do not ever connect to the 3G network.In 2.1, there are "Data Roaming" and "Data Traffic". If I were to tick off "Data Roaming", would that mean that the "Data Traffic" is no longer in use either, even if its ticked on? I do not want to tick off the "Data Traffic" option because it leaves a huge ugly picture on the notification bar.Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I do not want an abundance phone bill due to this!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two groups of contacts "MyContacts" and "Utilities". When I set up synching I selected to copy "All contacts".
Unfortunatey, when I look what's on my area on sonyericsson.com/wportal I see only the contacts from the group "MyContacts".
I.e. the site creates a false feeling of security - if I need to restore my phone from this site I will irrecovarebly lose lots of data.
I don't know is SE forgot to test their function or Android-hackers don't understand the features of the contacts.
All area of handling the contacts stinks seriously, and mkes you wander if the Android people ever used a mobile phone :
1. X10 does not accept contacts sent via SMS (VCARD-format), (or via MMS or bluetooth)
2. X10 does not sync with Outlook where most of business people have their contacts, and maintain them when receiving corporate mails etc.
3. The only way to get the contacts is to export from PC to a csv-file and import to gmail, and then sync to the phone. This is not that flexible due the export via csv. I.e. If I create cntacts in the phone they will not reach Outlook.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust received my phone yesterday and had a problem getting the SIM contacts from my old W910i phone to the Xperia x10. Followed the instructions to the letter, then called up Orange and they tried a few ways to get them over, went to the shop this morning to try and sort it out but after over an hour it was to no avail. The young chap in the store said that it must be based on the database setup - they must be incompatible.
So I now have to manually input my old contacts on the new phone when I encountered another problem - whilst inputting a contact detail, I pressed something on the bottom left of the keyboard and suddenly I am faced with Korean language. I went to Settings and set the language to English UK and went back to the contact I was editing, but still faced with a Korean keyboard.
I found a used Xperia X10, I called the seller and he claims it is unlocked, and that ATT won't see it as a smart phone or whatever. I want the phone, but I want to make sure that ATT won't charge me randomly for data. So can I opt out of Data, or cancel data on the line if I get the phone. Is there a way I can get the phone, put in my SIM card and only use the calling and texting that I've been using currently on my Samsung Impression?

If I am at home using wifi does that use 250mb which I am allowed each month? I use face book and the auto update time scape thing. How much MB will that use? Will I only be able to use time scape with 3g or can I use 2g to get updates aswell?
