View 4 RepliesThe media player shuts off after i unlock the screen. What is causing this? It will play, then lock itself after a minute or so, keep playing, and when I unlock it, it shuts off. Also annoying is that it shuffles forward AND reverse. When I put the weather channel widget on my home screen It never updates itself even though I Juice defender that should allow it to refresh periodically.I'll add one more - the last few apps I downlaoded, i had to cancel 3-4 times, then retry before they are started to download.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought my Xperia x10 mini yesterday, and one of the first things I did was to set it up for WiFi in my house (which I already have 2 laptops and a stationary PC connected to). Setting it up was easy and quick, but my phone doesn't find the network, not even if I am standing right beside the router. I have tried to restart the WiFi connection, restart my phone, delete and re-add the home connection, but the phone still doesn't connect to the network.
The network's SSID isn't broadcasted for security reasons, could this be the problem? When I search for networks, it doesn't find any 'unnamed' networks like the windows pcs do. (which is normally the one I need to connect to.) Is there something wrong with my hardware? Or my software (my phone is completely up-to-date)? (Except broadcast the SSID, which is not an option..)
Just recieved my X10 (hooray!) and, because Vodafone have clearly not ported anybody over to their network before (or so it seems by the level of incompetence!), I didn't received a temp. number and my SIM is not active.
So, does anyone know if you can access the internet via WiFi through via your home wireless without the SIM? I know you can do this on the, ahem, iPhone...
I have a wireless network with a linksys router. I am unable to connect to the network with my x10 at all. The phone sees my network, the wep is correct and it say's it's obtaining an ip address but then it says unsuccessful and starts the whole process again.

View 25 Replies View RelatedI have set up the phone to connect to my home wifi connection and it does this just fine. Once connected I can do everything I wan't. Upload, download, browse and so on.But after a while, once the phone has been asleep, the wifi connection is dropped and the phone drops back onto the cellular data connection. The problem is that once it has done this, the only way to reconnect to the wifi is to switch off wifi and switch it back on again at which point it works fine again until next time it goes to sleep.I have checked the wifi sleep settings etc and this does not help so any clues? How can I persuade this phone to connect to wifi when it's available. Likewise, my other phone (a HTC Desire) will always connect to the wifi if it is in range so I am happy that this is a phone specific issue.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy X10i keeps dropping its WiFi conection. It is in an "excellent" signal strength area. I can now see that is related to my poor mobile network coverage at home. When the mobile network signal drops, then the WiFi turns off and the turns on again, scans and reconnects. When the mobile network connects again (after a minute or two) the WiFi turns off, then on again, scans and reconnects. This cycling is happening every minute or two. Which leads to lots of frustrating network errors. Things improve if I turn off 3G and set network to GSM only.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving given it much thought I decided against rooting until the updates are out and XDA have sorted out a new 2.1 root for us which meant Barnacle was out for me at present so I have just installed PdaNet on my phone and netbook.
OMG I'm so over excited by it. I am typing this on my netbook using my phone. Yeah so I need to get a life, but I am in de-mob happy mode and the thought that I may be able to use my phone for wifi whilst away has really pleased me. It couldn't have been more simple. Download on my netbook, (had already downloaded it from market on my phone) and follow the on screen instructions.
Anyway it seems to be working pretty well, so just wondered if anyone had had any negative effect using it other than it maybe using up battery power and eating into my 3 gig of data for the month?
I think this problem arose after I purchased 'Extended Controls'. I turn off wifi (doesn't matter if I use extended controls or not) and the APN Control turns itself on, really quite annoying! Is there any way to fix this? Edit - Forgot to mention, this seems to be intermittent as well :/....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got an x10. I want to connect to this wireless network but it requires both username and password log in information. I can't seem to find a way to adjust my wireless settings so that it will allow me to enter the information. It only lets me enter password information. I know it requires both because I have connected to it on my computer. I know that there are other networks available, but there is reason that I want to use this one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been doing a lot of browsing of sites such as youtube on my phone. I thought this was all happening via the wifi connection to my home network, however I have discovered it has been doing it from 3G as well, since it has eaten up a lot of money on my phone.
The question is how do I enable Internet browsing on wifi as default (when wifi connections are present) rather than through 3G?
This is really important since it seems to have cost me a fortune, when I could have been browsing for free at home. I have the X10mini pro and am running Android 2.1
For some reason my wifi wont conect to my homes wifi as of last night? i have had the x10 months and had no problems but my girlfriend bought the x10 mini yesturday, showed her how to connect it up to wifi networks i.e my own home one, then since that my x10 will not connect to mine an say unsuccessful even tho it will connect to any others. as it is very annoying having to boot the pc up to get on the web.

View 8 Replies View RelatedUpgraded my x10 to 2.1 and the improvement in battery life is brilliant. My problem is that I can get the phone to connect to my home wifi, ping it, use Skype, BUT I cannot get it to browse the net or download from the market. It is a linksys - WRT54G on firmware v4.30.2, other phones and pc have no problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis may sound strange but a few days ago I decided to have my WIFI 'Always On', and since then my battery seems to last alot longer.I have tried switching it off for a day to see if it was just coincidence, but with WIFI turned off, my battery died alot quicker. I thought it could be that when connecting through 3G it has to connect through the mass which could be miles away, but through WIFI it only has to connect to my router which is within 5 metres at all times. Maybe I am wrong but nonetheless its great being able to have my WIFI switched on at all times without loosing battery power quicker Is this the case with anyone else?Maybe some people could try this for a day to see if it improves your battery, and if it does so for you as it does for me, then there is another option to improve your battery life
View 24 Replies View RelatedI had mine X10i over 4 months now, no matter how I updated the version or reset the device back to factory default, the WiFi still did not work properly unless I re-start the device. The WiFi only can be turn on is when the device just turned on. If the WiFi connection got disconnected or was being turned off, then it can NEVER be connect it back or NEVER can be turn back on. This is killing me that I have to at least re-start my phone twice a day. Another thing is that if I don't turn on my WiFi at the time the device was turned on, then I never could be able to turn on the WiFi again. What is the issue with this function?
