Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: How To Connect To Wifi Networks
Aug 11, 2010For some reason my wifi wont conect to my homes wifi as of last night? i have had the x10 months and had no problems but my girlfriend bought the x10 mini yesturday, showed her how to connect it up to wifi networks i.e my own home one, then since that my x10 will not connect to mine an say unsuccessful even tho it will connect to any others. as it is very annoying having to boot the pc up to get on the web.

Jun 5, 2010I'm trying to scan for wireless networks and found this helpful source on the net. Unfortunately it's not working and I have no idea why. My problem is that I can't wait 10 minutes for the result - I need them within a few seconds and thought about setting the boolean variable waiting on false as soon as I get a result, well it runs forever. Looks like nothing is received.

So, does anyone know if you can access the internet via WiFi through via your home wireless without the SIM? I know you can do this on the, ahem, iPhone...
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: USB Not Working
Nov 6, 2010Whenever I try to connect my Xperia to my pc via USB port nothing happens. The problem started after I updated my phone's software not to 2.1 (as its not available for my phone as yet) but another update that the software said was available. Upon completing the update I then reconnected my phone to the USB port but then my computer said there's no drivers installed for my phone. I've tried letting windows search for drivers but no luck with that. I find this strange when previously everything worked fine and I could browse the files on my memory card, but now all I get is no drivers are available. I've tried searching for drivers on line, but there doesn't seem to be none. Is there any way to solve this problem?

Jul 23, 2010I am a new x10 owner, I have 1 dekstop, 2 laptops, and a playstation3 all connected to my router wirelessly and they all work fine, so the signal strength and availability are definitely out of question. I've tried using different security protocols and they all yield the same result, it cannot successfully obtain an IP address. Occasionally it would work, but most of the time it doesn't.

Aug 21, 2010I have set up the phone to connect to my home wifi connection and it does this just fine. Once connected I can do everything I wan't. Upload, download, browse and so on.But after a while, once the phone has been asleep, the wifi connection is dropped and the phone drops back onto the cellular data connection. The problem is that once it has done this, the only way to reconnect to the wifi is to switch off wifi and switch it back on again at which point it works fine again until next time it goes to sleep.I have checked the wifi sleep settings etc and this does not help so any clues? How can I persuade this phone to connect to wifi when it's available. Likewise, my other phone (a HTC Desire) will always connect to the wifi if it is in range so I am happy that this is a phone specific issue.

Aug 3, 2010My X10i keeps dropping its WiFi conection. It is in an "excellent" signal strength area. I can now see that is related to my poor mobile network coverage at home. When the mobile network signal drops, then the WiFi turns off and the turns on again, scans and reconnects. When the mobile network connects again (after a minute or two) the WiFi turns off, then on again, scans and reconnects. This cycling is happening every minute or two. Which leads to lots of frustrating network errors. Things improve if I turn off 3G and set network to GSM only.

Oct 14, 2010Up until Sunday, my Sat Nav on either Co Pilot or Google Navigation was perfect - it knew exactly where I was and was incredibly accurate.On Sunday, for some reason, both sat nav apps can't seem to pin point my location and think I'm up to 30 feet away from where I actually am.. which then has a problem with navigation as it thinks I'm on another street.I tried re-installing the phone software (using PC Companion, so it was completely a clean install) and this still hasn't helped.

Nov 7, 2010I only got this phone 2 days ago and I don't think the camera is working, or I need to set it up somehow.
Firstly, the button on the side doesn't activate it. It does go into it from the apps screen though.
However, when you push the camera button to take a photo, it focusses for a brief time then it bleeps loudly and the focus square on the screen turns green. It never actually takes the shot.

Aug 28, 2010I only got my X10 just over a week ago and the menu, home and back buttons on the bottom were randomly not working and it's only becoming more and more consistant. It's driving me nuts and it's especially frustrating since it's a brand new phone. I can't find anything on the internet and yes my phone software is upgraded. Oct 15, 2010Having given it much thought I decided against rooting until the updates are out and XDA have sorted out a new 2.1 root for us which meant Barnacle was out for me at present so I have just installed PdaNet on my phone and netbook.
OMG I'm so over excited by it. I am typing this on my netbook using my phone. Yeah so I need to get a life, but I am in de-mob happy mode and the thought that I may be able to use my phone for wifi whilst away has really pleased me. It couldn't have been more simple. Download on my netbook, (had already downloaded it from market on my phone) and follow the on screen instructions.
Anyway it seems to be working pretty well, so just wondered if anyone had had any negative effect using it other than it maybe using up battery power and eating into my 3 gig of data for the month?
