My application screen tab (the one that usually lives at the botton of the screen) has moved to the right side and I don't know how. Does anyone now how to move to tab back to the bottom? Its probably something simple that I am over thinking.

When I move some widgets on my Home Screen, I've seen message: "The application Home screen (process com.sonyericsson.homescreen) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" Than I switch off x10 mini, but I've already still have this error.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyways I have just got myself a Sony Ericsson X10 and it's my first Android phone. I have upgraded from a Samsung Omnia running WinMo 6.5 and I must say I'm enjoying Android so much more already As I'm completely new to Android I have a few questions:
1, Installing Apps - The SE X10 only has 256MB internal memory and I have a 8GB memory card inside, I have noticed nearly everything I download installs to the internal memory. With my Omnia you can choose where to install it, is there a way to force it to install to the SD card or move it from the internal memory to the SD card?
2, Charging - For the first time ever I have never have come across a phone that fully turns it's self on from being fully turned off when a charger is plugged in and turned on. With any rechargeable device you need to give them a good charge (16+ hours) to give them a good life. But how can I do that as the battery is being used as its charging?
3, I've seen some stuff about rooting? I kinda understand it but what is the benefit of doing it? Is it risky? Is there any cons?
On the applications screen, (the one which you drag up from the bottom of the home screen), is there any way to create folders there and re-organise the position of apps? I know that you can create folders on the home screens, but this isn't what I want to do. I would love to be able to create a folder that I can dump all of the programs I will never use but which Sony will not allow me to delete, (you know the ones - moxier etc!!)

But someone was trying to unlock it and put some wrong codes, so the Screen is now lock when I put right code still nothing nappens, the screen is lock. Can not do nothing now? can I? When someone is calling me I can not pick up the phone can not see the messages. What should I do? How do I delete Screen Lock app?

My first Android phone so still getting used to it! Been reading through loads of Threads about Tone Picker and stuff and its sorted me right out, one thing which I cant do it make Folders in my Menu to tidy it up a bit? For example I wanna put all the Moxier (Calendar, contacts, Mail etc) into one folder so it looks let bogged up! Can you even add folders and move stuff?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBy the 'arrange icons' option I seem to be only able to delete icons (or unistall the applications). I wonder how I could move them around, as in really *arrange* them. There's a weird thing happened. I have now 5 pages of icons, but the last spot on Page 4 is always left blank. Even if I install a new app, this spot won't fill up, the new icon would appear on Page 5. I wonder how I could get rid of such nuisance.

First, am I correct in that if I use Wi-Fi I will avoid the 3g charges since Im using another internet source? Also do things like the MobileTV and GPS use data?My second question was about mediascape. Is there any way to move or cut/paste media into different folders so that they dont show up in mediascape but rather have their own designated folder?

The only suggestion I was given was to "swipe" the cursor over to where I wanted it, which turns into a series of moves that have the cursor jumping all over the place. Are there no equivalents to the "cursor arrows" that let you move the cursor up, right & left?
Does anyone have a better way?
So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
How can I "move" a contact in the phonebook to, for example, a TouchDown contact? I have a number of contacts as "phone contacts" but want them also/instead in my touchdown contacts so that they sync with outlook/exchange. Is this possible and if so how?

Somehow I managed to scratch the screen protector and now I want to remove it however I'm having much difficulty removing it. Now I'm thinking if I should get a replacement screen protector as the Rogers version doesn't come with a spare one or just go without it. Anyone without the screen protector wanna add input about the durability of the mineral glass screen? I know that the screen on the iPod Touch 2G is very durable since I own one without having a protector on but I want to know if the X10s screen is just as durable.

It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.

For the last few days I have disabled task killer, and since then haven't killed a single app. First day the phone got leggy and I had to reboot, but since then no issues. Ive installed a memory meter and it got right down to 10% available memory before it got leggy. now it averages about 35% free memory (92mb) Ive read that frequently killing background apps is not really good for the operation of the phone? Should I Install a Task Manager/Killer on My Android Device? This sounds true, or am I being suckered into the media, Should I rather leave all the apps running in the background? When I did have Task panel running most of the apps where on the auto kill list, but when ever I open task panel, all these apps are listed under active apps, but are all highlighted in red. Any idea as to why? Are these apps actually being killed or is this whole app killer a farce?

I wonder because my old phone (Nokia 5800) allows one to have more than one application open at the same time, and it has a function to enable one to check what's running and to close anything that you don't want to run. Is it the same on the X10? If it's only possible to have one app open at the same time, that answers my question, I suppose - if I open another application, the previous one will be closed. That seems to be the case, but I checked the other day what was consuming so much battery and it turned out to be a game (Labyrinth Lite) which seemed to be running in the background. I've deleted it now, but I'd like to have a clearer understanding of how to check easily what is open.

Is it just my phone or every time I attempt to take a picture it takes quite sometime after I take the picture the actual moment the picture is captured? not to mention the lag between pictures, the lack of burst mode, and another thing that is quite annoying why does the image in the camera gets so DARK when you press the camera button to focus? the image on the screen should represent the actual photo your capturing not some dark version of it one or two seconds after you click/touch the screen to capture the picture.

(I was on WiFi) This morning, I pull down the Activity bar and see that the phone thinks the Download is still continuing. I couldn't see anyway to force quit other than turning off the phone. Phone works great etc etc BUT I have a tiny problem, I can go out for the day and leave my phone at home, I'll get back and it'll say "11 Updates found" for my applications. Which i'm fine with but, as i'm not connected to a WiFi, it uses my mobile internet to connect and find these "updates" which starts eating my phone credit. I'm tired of leaving it. In a matter of days my phone credit is gone.
