I have a 3 day old X10 mini and tried to use a song from music library as message alert tone. However, even after I have already opened the message, the music still keeps on playing. I have opened a lot of other apps from the phone and the music kept playing until the end. I could even play another music from the player alongside the alert tone I used.

I have a mp3 file as a text msg tone when I receive message the tone keeps going even when I've opened the message. How to stop it without changing or shorting the mp3 file.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave just got my new X10 - all OK except one thing that is frustrating. Is there any way I can get sms text message tone to repeat if I miss one. With other phones, if an sms is not read it repeats the sms tone every minute or so to remind you there is one waiting to be read - cant see any way of doing this on the X10 - anybody know if this is possible and I am just missing it, or is there an app that does it?

I have the phone set up to use one of the phones own short notifications but it isn't using it and I have to restart the phone to stop the song playing. I may have the settings wrong but I can't find anything in the instructions to put it right?

The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter a long time of wanting an Xperia x10 I finally got one on Saturday. Before that I had a Blackberry Curve, so things are quite different from what I've seen so far.I have a few questions after fiddling around for a while;
1) Is there a way to set an .mp3 song as my SMS tone?
2) My phone came with some Moxier software; is there a way to delete these? I won't be using them as they don't appeal to me.
3) I'm using the built-in Facebook app, and I'm not recieving any alerts for notifications...do I need to do something for this to work?
4) Speech Synthesis - What is this and how do I use it? (I installed some voice software like it asked, but I don't see how this software is used)
5) I downloaded a task killer which was recommended; do they work? My battery drops so fast, is there other methods around this?
6) Finally, any useful apps you'd recommend to get the most out of my Xperia X10? I've seen various new keyboard apps which have tempted me as I have a little trouble with the stock one, for example.
Is it possible to change this? It cannot be changed through notification ringtone menu; all that succeeds in doing is changing tone for other notifications like email etc. Have tried to select other notification tones, but it is the "tada" tone that always comes up when SMS is received. Can the tone for receiving SMS be changed, and if so, how?

Is there anyway to stop this happening as I want the notification to come though the phone speaker. Or is this the bug of X10 that SE needs to sort out?? Is there any app on market that can make sure the alert notification comes through in the phone speaker, not via handsfree speaker when a wired handsfree attached to X10.

I've searched the forum and can't find anything similar so I'm assuming it's most likely a set up issue on my phone. I hope someone can suggest something to help?I occasionally have issues replying to text messages! When I send the messages, I receive a message saying: 'message not sent', even though I have signal at the time. In order to send the message, I have to leave the messaging app (SE default) and go to my contacts list, find the person and send the message as a new message.
