Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Korean Button On Message Keyboard / Get Rid Of It
Nov 9, 2010
I recently went to write a message the other day and notice that I have got a symbol in the bottom left hand corner where the change to number mode was that changes the keyboard to Korean and I cannot for the life of me get rid of it.

Has anyone else found that their keyboard is now in (what appears to be) Korean and English. I have been told to rest back to factor settings by my provider but am really reluctant to do so in case, even if I back-up, I lose all my info. Anyone got any suggestions?

I've just got myself and X10. Which is great. But, randomly the language settings seem to have changed to Korean! I've checked under the settings and they are still set as locale UK and language English but the keyboard is Korean.

I just received my Xperia mini and I'd like to change the keyboard to "landscape keyboard". The user manual says that I have to change the settings to auto rotate for the keypad to function in landscape. I've done this but I still don't have it.

I am a no-ob cause i got the phone yesterday. anyways, I find this phone/system pretty weird as there are settings for Chinese input but there is nothing about switching on Chinese keyboard in the settings where u turn in on or off. is it because my phone has install in the euro edition? and how can i get it so i can type Chinese as i need it sometimes for business.

Well looks like the Xperia x10 supprots a T9 keyboard like a normal mobile phone except Sony ericson has decided to hide it. What you do is say go to start text message select the input box hold finger down on it and it will say imput method. Select chinese keyboard. When you got to type hold the EN button with the tool on it it will come up with menu. Select both portrait keyboard and Landscape keyboard and select 12 Key Phonepad. And whalla you have T9 keyboard on your phone.

Alot of people seem to have continuous problems installing the HTC keyboard, so last week rosered asked me to write a fool-proof step-by-step guide for those users. So after getting back from my short vacation I decided to write a step-by-step guide which also includes screenshots to make it easier for you First of all I will explain how to install the original HTC keybaord, then I will tell you where to customize your own HTC keyboard for those of you that prefer it customized How to install the HTC keybaord on your Xperia X10Before you start, make sure your phone is set to allow apps from unknown sources. To enable this, go to Settings > Applications and make sure Unknown Sources is checked 1. Download the HTC Keyboard here2. Open the zip archive and copy the files to your desktopAT&T users will not be able to install this keyboard using steps 3-8 as they cannot side load apps. If you are an AT&T user, scroll down to see the instructions at the bottom of this guide explaining how to install the HTC keyboard. When you have done that, go to step 9 3. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable, drag down the notification bar on your Xperia and tap "USB COnnected" then tap "Mount". Alternatively, some people prefer to slide the SD card into a Memory Card slot on your computer4. Copy the HTC Keyboard files from your desktop, into a directory on your phone that you will remember (in my example I will use the 'downloads' directory5. Disconnect your phone from the usb cable (or put the SD card back into your phone if you used a memory card.

What keyboards are you X10 users typing on?
My gf got herself an X10 recently and compared to my desire the keyboard is, well, it's not really as good.
I've briefly seen mention of some using a downloaded HTC keyboard but I can't see this in the market. Is there one readily available or are there any other better ones out there?

I'm having trouble with the X10's front buttons freezing. The phone seemed fine most of the day, then I installed three things.. a Background app to get a new background (found QR code on this forum), Advanced Task Killer, and Juice Defender. I installed Juice Defender first, then the background app, then ATK. I was in ATK when the freeze happened. I was stuck in it and I couldn't get out, but I could still activate things on-screen but the buttons were dead? I rebooted and removed ATK thinking that might have been the issue. About 20 minutes later though I turned it on to find the same problem. So I removed the background app. Now I just have juice defender... so far everything seems fine but I'm not 100% sure why it happened in the first place so it may just be a matter of time. I'm terrified to install any more apps.

Have just got my new X10 - all OK except one thing that is frustrating. Is there any way I can get sms text message tone to repeat if I miss one. With other phones, if an sms is not read it repeats the sms tone every minute or so to remind you there is one waiting to be read - cant see any way of doing this on the X10 - anybody know if this is possible and I am just missing it, or is there an app that does it?

I've searched the forum and can't find anything similar so I'm assuming it's most likely a set up issue on my phone. I hope someone can suggest something to help?I occasionally have issues replying to text messages! When I send the messages, I receive a message saying: 'message not sent', even though I have signal at the time. In order to send the message, I have to leave the messaging app (SE default) and go to my contacts list, find the person and send the message as a new message.

I post this thread to ask whether there is a way to set different sounds for message and alarm notification. I have a cool sound set for message notification (something like "Message arrives"). However, in the setting, there are only Phone Ringtone(for incoming calls) and Notification Ringtone(for both message and alarm notification. Therefor, when I do something like plug-in my phone to PC, the message ringtone is played, which is quite annoying. My question is that is there any way to set the separate sounds for message and alarm notifications? (maybe an app)
