I really need to type Chinese and Japanese and found that there's no such input method. However, I can view my SMS and mails in other languages through side panels. Is this a big mistake?

I don't read Chinese, and most of the applications pre-installed on the phone are in Chinese (including Market and SE Sync !)
Can you tell me how to upgrade the firmware to french or english version, knowing that the hardware keyboard is Qwerty
I just received my Xperia mini and I'd like to change the keyboard to "landscape keyboard". The user manual says that I have to change the settings to auto rotate for the keypad to function in landscape. I've done this but I still don't have it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell looks like the Xperia x10 supprots a T9 keyboard like a normal mobile phone except Sony ericson has decided to hide it. What you do is say go to start text message select the input box hold finger down on it and it will say imput method. Select chinese keyboard. When you got to type hold the EN button with the tool on it it will come up with menu. Select both portrait keyboard and Landscape keyboard and select 12 Key Phonepad. And whalla you have T9 keyboard on your phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAlot of people seem to have continuous problems installing the HTC keyboard, so last week rosered asked me to write a fool-proof step-by-step guide for those users. So after getting back from my short vacation I decided to write a step-by-step guide which also includes screenshots to make it easier for you First of all I will explain how to install the original HTC keybaord, then I will tell you where to customize your own HTC keyboard for those of you that prefer it customized How to install the HTC keybaord on your Xperia X10Before you start, make sure your phone is set to allow apps from unknown sources. To enable this, go to Settings > Applications and make sure Unknown Sources is checked 1. Download the HTC Keyboard here2. Open the zip archive and copy the files to your desktopAT&T users will not be able to install this keyboard using steps 3-8 as they cannot side load apps. If you are an AT&T user, scroll down to see the instructions at the bottom of this guide explaining how to install the HTC keyboard. When you have done that, go to step 9 3. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable, drag down the notification bar on your Xperia and tap "USB COnnected" then tap "Mount". Alternatively, some people prefer to slide the SD card into a Memory Card slot on your computer4. Copy the HTC Keyboard files from your desktop, into a directory on your phone that you will remember (in my example I will use the 'downloads' directory5. Disconnect your phone from the usb cable (or put the SD card back into your phone if you used a memory card.

My gf got herself an X10 recently and compared to my desire the keyboard is, well, it's not really as good.
I've briefly seen mention of some using a downloaded HTC keyboard but I can't see this in the market. Is there one readily available or are there any other better ones out there?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do I just take the sound off when texting? The noise the keyboard makes does my head in. It wasn't on before so I've obviously done something to put it on so I was wondering how to take it off?
View 8 Replies View RelatedNot many reactions as yet, to the update. So far I am more or less satisfied. However, I cant seem to get the Norwegian keyboard. My only options are Japan, Corea, China and standard keyboard. Thus all my writing is spell-checked also in Danish. Why? And why are apps priced in swedish currency, and not in nok (norwegian currency)? I am in Norway, not in sweden. Phone is bought in Norway, and has never been used in either Sweden or Denmark.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI keep my phone in my pocket and I guess I forgot to turn it off before I put it in my pocket for some reason now the default keyboard on my x10 is Korean.I am not sure where I can get it back to English, anyone help?
View 4 Replies View Relatedso hopefully this question/problem isn't as simple/dumb as my previous.I've somehow messed up my keyboard settings or language. the bottom right and bottom left buttons now have some Chinese/Japanese text on them and the bottom left button turns on some alternative keyboard options and changes my text output to Japanese. Now I presumed this was simply something in my language settings but I've set them back to UK and still no joy.I'm also using Handcent sms and the Handcent keyboard ui but that's not displaying either. Tried un-install/reinstall but no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile I -am- enjoying it to a degree, I am getting bloody tired of needing an apostrophe, clicking the "12#" button, and having it put an automatic SPACE as soon as I push it, which requires me to backspace, then add apostrophe, then back out to the letters. I'm a gal who can type pretty damn fast, even on a phone, so this is really ticking me off since I'll look up several lines later and see a catastrophe of misplaced spaces in my words before apostrophe. How do I make it stop this entirely frustrating behavior?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe screen on the X10 mini pro is pretty small, but why make it even smaller when texting by taking up the bottom portion of the screen with the language of the keyboard? I do not envisage myself ever needing to change the keyboard language, well except for when I have changed it by mistake, by accidently hitting the language bar that shouldnt be there?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI remember seeing somewhere in the x10 section a post regarding instructions to install a better keyboard on our x10's. I am enjoying swype, but would also like to have a "regular" keyboard that works better than the preinstalled ones. Can anyone direct me to the thread, or a site with instructions? Does the phone need to be rooted?
