How can i back up my phone without rooting it or being connected to the computer. i dont want to root my phone and theres something wrong with the usb port on my computer cause everytime i connect the phone to my computer, it connects then disconnects then connects then disconnects..etc. until i unplug it plug it from the computer.

I was wondering, is there a way to further increase the volume after rooting the X10? My volume is way to low even when I set it to the highest setting, but the volume is louder in the test menu.

The problem is that I am virtually always near a wifi connection so I don't need data. I can download the software from my phone but can't install them. I also tried SE update service and PC companion. Update Service just says my phone is up to date and exits.PC companion says the same thing "your phone is up to date". I read somewhere today that you cantnot update ur phone after rooting it so I tried to repair my phone using PC companion but that failed too. I got a download error and something about checking my internet connection. I was wondering if anyone knows a way of flashing my phone with the original u20i generic uk so i can update again.

application on m.sonyericsson.com/backup, and it installed properly.
However, when I create a new restore point, and proceed to actually backing up my phone, it runs a few seconds backing up contacts and then
switches to a screen that tells me "Could not back up".
I've tried restarting the phone. Any suggestions? My backups from before the update this morning have vanished as well.
Can anyone tell me how to get my SMS settings back to UK. I have been onto Locale/Text but nothing is happening! I have English letters but have Korean symbols to change text to numbers etc. and lost the bar above the letters giving me word suggestions etc. I have switched off, removed battery and sim but still reverts back. Im about to do my first update and i really dont have a clue what im doing !! i downloaded the free MY back up yesterday .. saved apps and data to the sd card and started the download through the phone in the software update section in 'about phone' ...neway i ran out of time before i went to work and cancelled the update as it was taking AGES !
So i today , i go to resume the update , but check first that all my data is still in my back up ... and surprise surprise my 30 day free trial has ran out after less than 24 hrs ! ... thank god i checked !
Anyway ... what i really want to know is ... A) is it worth the updates .. any real benefit ? (bearing in mind im not very technically minded , clearly!)
B) If it is .. then what is the best, trusty free file manager ... that will store my apps , contacts , settings etc ... basically everything!
C) Should i do it through the website, via my laptop and usb rather than through the phone ?

I need help with two things. Firstly, i'v lost my Sony ericcson logo that should go in the middle of the screen on the homepage (I don't want to use timescape; I don't like it) so i'd like to know how to get that back. Secondly iv somehow managed to change my keyboard into Japanese or Chinese (or some language with symbols) Iv still got letters but my smiley faces have turned all weird on me and the keyboard has shifted slightly to the left and I keep putting commas instead of using the space bar - very annoying.

Standard keyboard is set (and reset) as Swedish, but still the Chinese keyboard pops up (but in english). Haven't done anything special, more than activated Spotify the last days. So it looks like despite I have Swedish keyboard as standard, the phone suddenly choose chinese keyboard anyway. How can I make settings so the X10 choose standard keyboard as input?

I am new to the forums and i needed some help. I rooted my phone last night and i am having some issues. I deleted a lot of he filler apps but i also deleted skype in the process. Is there a way to get it back? Also my phone is horrendously slow now, the opposite of what the root was supposed to accomplish, i even had a 2200 quad benchmark score. Now my pages and downloads take forever. I thought there woulx be a way to get back to defaults to solve the problem. I unrooted too using one click lag fix and nothing changed for the better.
