Samsung I7500 :: Headphones Volume Hack - Galaxy
May 12, 2010
After the last firmware update the sound was pretty low,so i wanted to increase the volume... tried the volume hack but it did not increase the headphone volume, only the handset volume..... this is kinda a hardware fix...
Do this at your own risk
first close musi app
then open dailer an type :
*#197328640#*
This will open service mode
here click [8] audio
then click [2] headset
then click [2] rx value
then click [5] rx codec for midi
then click [1] rx codec gain:
Then pres menu key, key input, and type in 5fff , this increases the gain to about 4db,wich is in my opinion the best option. after u inputed the value pres menu key and select end. no restart needed, just open music player and press play and you will see the differences. I was about to sell my i7500 because of lack of headphone volume but now im happy...i think this will work with i5700 and moment, haven;t tried it though!

While taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3
I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution.

I've been reading these forums for a while now, and some of these posts are the reason I got a Galaxy myself, imported from Germany
So far I totally love it, but there's this small issue that made me register and finally make a post here.
My previous phone was an Apple iPhone, but I dropped it so the screen broke, and I didn't bother with trying to fix it, so I decided to try something new.
Now, what I loved about the iPhone was the headset/handsfree that came with it. It's the best I've tried so far, and that's why I really wanna use it instead of the crap one Samsung bundled with the Galaxy.
Now here's the problem:
When I use the Apple headset with my Galaxy, the vocals on music doesn't play, unless I press and hold the answer/hang up/shuffle button on the handsfree. And because of this, it does ofcourse not work as a answer/hang up button. The bundled handsfree works as it should, with normal sound, and buttons.
I have no idea if this is a hardware 3.5mm issue, or a software issue, but all I know is the Apple headset works fine on my brother's HTC Hero, which makes me believe it's less likely to be a software issue.
I'm also reluctant of buying another handsfree, incase the Galaxy only works with the bundled one.
Oh, almost forgot, if it's of any use, I'm running the II5 firmware, updated through NPS.

I have updated my Galaxy S with the registry hack to Froyo but I still have 2.1 update1 on it. I have read here How to get the Galaxy S Froyo 2.2 update RIGHT NOW if you own a GT-i9000 device, regardless of European country [UPDATED] | CareAce that Samsung pulled the Froyo update so people with can't access it with the registry hack. Is there any other way to get the update through Kies?

Does GAOSP Froyo support live wallpapers for i7500? If yes, can you recommend some that seem to run fine without (major) slowdown? I would suspect that the CPU is too slow to run most live wallpapers, but there might be some neat ones that are good to go?

Still debating on which phone to buy. With the droid x the major concern is soft volume (some phones seem softer than others); rumors of over heating and wifi issues.
Is there a known hack to fix the volume issue; or has Motorola ack the issue and have publically indicated a fix is in the works? Next weekend is no-tax weekend (in Ma) so I might try to pick a phone up then...
I'm pretty sure the wifi issue is a firmware problem (shame on moto for using an encrypted boot loader and having bugs like this one); not sure if overheating is limited to a few phones or is a design issue.
Anyways please add comments (negative and positive) relative to alternatives (samsung s and evo are major contenders). With the samsung the major negative is it pauses now and then and also have soft volume (there is a fix for the gps issue); for evo the major negative is +$10 and poor battery life (this phone is nice and loud) also the display is a bit dimmer than the droid x (an issue for outdoor usage).

Doing the volume increment/steps modification on their Nexus 5 yet.I have followed this method that I found here :[URL]everything went smooth.
I got the framework.jar using BakSmali
edited the AudioService.smali file
generated classes.dex
merge classes.dex with framework.jar using 7-zip
push new framework.jar to my nexus5
change permission on framework.jar
I change the AudioService.smali so i can have 30 steps instead of the default 15 steps. The following is what i have after modifications.
.line 205
:array_2c
.array-data 0x4
0x5t 0x0t 0x0t 0x0t
0x7t 0x0t 0x0t 0x0t
0x7t 0x0t 0x0t 0x0t
0x1Et 0x0t 0x0t 0x0t
0x7t 0x0t 0x0t 0x0t
[code].....
Note that 0x1Et should give me 30 steps but my nexus 5 still only give me 15 steps on Music/Bluetooth.
Results:
I am still getting 15 steps while listening to music on both headphone jacks and Bluetooth devices.
I double check the total number of steps with some apps and confirmed that the original 15 was not changed.
I also double check if my framework.jar are pushed correctly by re-pulling the framework.jar and looking into the AudioServices file and they are all the newly modded values.

I use in-ear headphones which usually perform at very high volume. That is to say, I have to put the volume very low on the phone for an optimal use.
However, my HTC Desire, even at the lowest possible volume, is still too loud for my fragile ears. Is there any way to fix this and change volume settings?

I have noticed that when I have my headphones plugged in (but not in my ears) and the phone rings, the ring tone comes out of both (the phone and the headphones, which is fine) but it is not as loud out of the phone as when the headphones out not plugged in. If I pull the headphones out while its ringing the phone starts ringing almost twice as loud. Anyone know how I can make sure the phone will ring at full volume for those times when I forget to take my headphones out and put everything in pocket?

I've searched this forum, but couldn't find the post that is same problem as mine, so I'm hoping you guys could help me out.I updated my HTC Desire a week ago to Froyo, and was having no trouble until today, when I plugged my headphones into my Desire, I couldn't change its volume when I played the music on the device. Even I pressed the volume controls on the left, it didn't change. It stayed in loud volume. I went to setting on Desire, and changed the media volume, but still nothing. I did the Factory data reset twice today, but still having the same problem. Also, this has nothing to do with the volume issue, but I cannot turn my cell phone off. Every time I tried to turn it off by pressing the button on the left top, it once does turn off, but few seconds later, it turns on automatically. I didn't know if I should create two different threads for each of them or not.

Got a Desire partly because once the 32GB comes out (on pre-order) I'll be using it as an mp3 player as well as a phone. Managed to find a good program to sync my music with it (MediaMonkey) and now the only other hurdle to this seems to be the volume levels which are too low for my liking. Will simply getting headphones with a volume control push the volume up further? I'm planning on buying some headphones for it that'll include a mic, volume control and maybe a couple of buttons to control the music, but is there anything that has all these? I'm not keen on bluetooth devices in the slightest, so just want some super-duper in-ear headphones really.

Do you have any recommendations for Hero's headphones with track and volume control ? Ones that comes in the box are ok, but doesn't allow me to control volume . I've got white edition of Hero so same color will be nice but if not, I will survive.

I was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

Anyone else getting a crackling sound out of their headphones when media volume is 100%? If I turn it down one notch the crackling disappears. Headphones are not the issues as I have verified this on 3 different pair. Im gonna see if my wifes droid does the same thing but figured I would post up and see what others thought.
