While taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3
I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution.
I root my vibrant i have the wifi working but i want to get the bloatware to be gone for more space please if there is any video up there let me know have to be for nobies lol this is my first android phone i rooted with this link. model number
GT-I9000
firmware version
2.1-update1
base band version 19000xxjm1
kernel version
2.6.29
root@SE-S603#2
build number
ECLAIR.XWJM2.
After the last firmware update the sound was pretty low,so i wanted to increase the volume... tried the volume hack but it did not increase the headphone volume, only the handset volume..... this is kinda a hardware fix...
Do this at your own risk
first close musi app
then open dailer an type :
*#197328640#*
This will open service mode
here click [8] audio
then click [2] headset
then click [2] rx value
then click [5] rx codec for midi
then click [1] rx codec gain:
Then pres menu key, key input, and type in 5fff , this increases the gain to about 4db,wich is in my opinion the best option. after u inputed the value pres menu key and select end. no restart needed, just open music player and press play and you will see the differences. I was about to sell my i7500 because of lack of headphone volume but now im happy...i think this will work with i5700 and moment, haven;t tried it though!
I have updated my Galaxy S with the registry hack to Froyo but I still have 2.1 update1 on it. I have read here How to get the Galaxy S Froyo 2.2 update RIGHT NOW if you own a GT-i9000 device, regardless of European country [UPDATED] | CareAce that Samsung pulled the Froyo update so people with can't access it with the registry hack. Is there any other way to get the update through Kies?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAre there third party battery covers for the Samsung Galaxy S? And will they work for the Vibrant since they look so similar? What I mean by battery cover is the piece of plastic you remove to get to the battery and sim card, maybe also called the backplate. Because all the accessories I see on eBay are just covers for the cover itself. In video reviews, the vibrant has two battery covers that are different. I was thinking of something along those lines so I can swap up battery covers if I get bored of one.

Product: Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant i9000m
Problem 1:
Connect usb into phone from laptop - both connected
Battery appears for second and continues loops
-=-Unplug
Problem 2:
Power on phone, stays on Vibrant Logo
I try to get into recovery and it just loops the Samsung Galaxy S and Vibrant logo.
it wont connect to my laptop - cause it loops and since it does that, I cannot use odin.
I downloaded a kernal on ryans lag fix and then it made my phone get stuck on the VIBRANT SAMSUNG screen so i tried to fix it by using odin, but all it did was make it go to the Galaxy s sign now, any suggestions on how i can fix this? (and also, after the galaxy s sign shows up for about ten seconds or something like that it goes all black and all that stays lit are the home button, the back button, the search button, and the settings button), i need serious help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i3nLHXO6gE
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe galaxy s phones were made for high end games. I want to find and try all the high end games for android, so please post which games you found...Here are the high end games I've tried and what I think about them:
Asphalt HD from Gameloft. I really love this racing game. Its on par with racing games made for the psp. I hope they release an expansion pack with more cars/tracks/events. N.O.V.A from Gameloft. A pretty good fps. It kinda reminds me of halo. I wish there was more weapons and enemies/bosses. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Dungeon Hunter from Gameloft. A standard rpg. Im playing this right now. my thoughts so far is that its a pretty good rpg for a phone but pales in comparison to handheld console rpgs. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Hero of Sparta from gameloft. its a hack n slash game. this is the only game from the gameloft hd series that I didnt like so far. I havent tried the other 5 HD games from gameloft but I plan on doing so.
I really want to try all the high end games for android so please any games you have found

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android and rooting. I have a Galaxy S and love it! I didn't even know what rooting was. I just came across it after looking for ways to make my phone faster. After a while I realized my phone speed slowed down and was looking for the reason behind it. That's when I learned rooting is the answer. So I used the One Click method and everything is fine so far.
My Kernel is 2.6.29 root@SE-S602 #2 and Baseband is XXJF3 (2.1). So I went into my apps and saw the superuser permission app. But it doesn'thttp://android.bigresource.com/add/add.php work! It is just a blacked out screen. So I am not sure where to go from here. I have tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one, just guides how to root. How to make my phone faster from this point? I get confused with all these ROM things! Which is the best ROM? MoDaCo? Is there a Froyo version of it?
What is the benefit or rooting your phone?

View 27 Replies View RelatedI have narrowed it down to the Samsung Galaxies - either Tmobile or Sprint.
I understand that Tmobile has much better customer service ratings in surveys but some say Sprint has improved?
Tmobile phone has 16g internal memory vs sprints 1g(but 16g SD). How important is internal memory size for androids? Some say in 2.2 you will be able to use SD memory for apps so internal isnt as important in the future? I assume these phones will be able to upgrade?
Sprint phone has better features for me - forward camera for video conf, hard keybd, and 4G.- all of which are big pluses for me. When is Tmobile getting 4g and will the phones upgrade?
Trying to find any info on froyo coming out for the vibrant? I have the Samsung Galaxy S from T-Mobile.
View 49 Replies View RelatedRecorded some video at a concert last night and the video came out ok but the audio was way over modulated. Even when I am in a quiet setting and have the phone close to my mouth and try recording video and talk in a normal to somewhat loud voice the modulation is still over modulated. I can't seem to find any way to adjust the audio record level or mic level. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have this issue? Tried the same quiet setting and talked loud into my Blackberry 9700 and no over modulation issue. When talking on the phone with someone they say I sound fine, so what's up? If you have this type of phone and have recorded video and have no problem with the quality of the sound please let me know in case i need to have mine replaced.
