Been having fun downloading new apps and games. I'm avoiding the mass add your friends games though. I have a few from app brain, Jewels, barer gem miner are fun when i have free time at work What are your favourites?

Since the 8gb with in the i7500 is flash and built in, does the phone use this to store apps/games? Or does it store it in the RAM? If it's in the RAM thats now a lot of space for apps/games especially when some are pretty big files.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs you know if you have Donut or Galaxo roms on your I7500, you cant install some appsa and games like Hero of Sparta, Nova,Skype, etc. "Application could not be installed on this phone." alert appears.I installed Gaosp Nightly but it was not stable enough for daily use so I had to turn back to donut rom. (Lags, Force closes, etc. on Gaosp cause its still beta)Is there a way to install these games or apps on Donut rom?

My question is how to close applications properly? (they're not closing either by back nor by home buttons) and how to prevent some applications to start at start up?
View 4 Replies View Relatedfor the most part, whenever i run an app, i close it, then immediately open advanced task killer and shut it down to spare some memory. am i missing something? i have a lot of apps to entertain my son in a pinch (14 months old) like bubbles and a block puzzle game and a couple videos etc... and if any of them are running in the background, the phone gets pretty sluggish. (i am running galaxhero 1.1)

I see that Android apps are based off of Java... So would it be better for me to learn Java before getting started with the SDK and eclipse? View 12 Replies View RelatedBetween looking around here and on androidzoom, I found a couple of apps I want. Problem when I use myphone to access the market, it says that they aren't there. Specifically, I am looking for Launcherpro beta and Adobe Reader. If I find them in androidzoom and scan the barcode its not there either. Short of rooting my phone to install market enabler, is there anything else I can do ?? Or are these not appearing because they won't run on 1.6 ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if anyone's experienced this. I'm using II5 firmware with Galaxo 1.1 None of my google apps seems to ever sync if I turn off background data. It'd be cool if there was a way to let it use background data only when the phone is unlocked, but whatever it's alright.So, fr gmail you can manually go in and chose to "Refresh", but for Calendar and Contacts there is no way to do this within the app.. Also, it never seems to sync even when you use it for a while.Has anyone found a way to sync calendar or contacts without turning on background data?

Is this a canada thing or what? Is the firmware so old that these phones are useless?
I'm trying to boot up the galaxohero rom,I indeed successfully restore the gapps before, but now, it didn't work anymore. I'm using the recovery 4.2 image and i'm sure i have done everything as the how to odin guide said, but it still couldn't restore the g.apps, the restore was aborted after a few sec. I have even formatted the storage card and start again. For my successful attempt, i use the old methods with a g.apps directory, but now I'm using II5.tar to restore, and it didn't work anymore.

1. How to Boot into Recovery.
2. Fix Package permissions.
3. Apply any zip from SD and choose one particular zip.
4. Also, how to install non-market applications.
What are some of your best or most used apps or games (paid or free) with the behold 2. since coming from the g1 I was able to eliminate a few. APP Klaxon alarm- Paid (as Night clock wont work with the phone) (got rid of this as it wouldn't stay on all night)
Flashlight- free (use every day) Games Robo defense- Paid (awesome, free or paid version) abduction- Free
The vibrant is advertised as 16gb internal memory, however after all of whatever is on the 16gb we're left with about 12.75 give or take of room left. Now i see that 2gb is apparently reserved for apps and the like, while the other is for music,movies, and so on. here is where my questions begin...
What if I have more than 2gb of apps and games to install? Will it not let me or will it partition more room? I think its kind of stupid to have a phone with this much internal memory and only let 2gb of it be for apps and games, that is absolutely stupid. I may consider activating my 14 day buyers remouse should this be the case. (and its not really 2gb, its 1.58gb)
I do plan on getting an 8gb+ class 4 or above microsd card, can i install apps to this WITHOUT rooting? or is rooting needed?I really, REALLY, hope im not screwed over with only 2gb of wiggle room for apps and games. that will definately put a halt on things.

Becuase this would definately put my mind at ease.I also read that its not your choice if you can, the developer has to enable it in said application. so that it gives you a choice of where to save it, or you can move it at a later date.
I did notice, however, that Asphalt 5 was 8mb but required 103mb of additional data to be downloaded. i was worried it would save it to the whimpy 1.58gb of space but alas, it was smarter than that, and saved it on to the 12gb part. But if the option in all/certain apps is to save it to sd (or in the vibrants case, the 12gb partition sd space, or an external SD card) that would be HUGE.

I own a Nexus One and Dell Streak and one thing that I find disappointing is that some apps don't run at the native resolution on the Nexus which makes things look blurry compared to my Streak. Examples: (all screenshots taken with the Android SDK) Now, I understand that the PenTile display will have an effect on image quality Vs my Streak but why does the N1 seem to be rendering things in a lower resolution compared to my Streak?

I tried to use beutiful widgets or some other widgets but my processing power gets high (also battery usage) and force close messages are make me nuts.
But then I thing it must related to ram issues (after copilot usage) becouse we have limitted ram.. my firend have a hero and she uses copilot faster like google maps...
So I installed root required memory programs like autokiller & minfreemanager.. and readjust memory values...

When I make this changes my app launcher and other programs works faster than before and the transitions are better much better than before and less force closes...
I write it becouse I am very happy now... & just kind of information for the pros ...
Also I found problems ( no widgets or apps running behind) looking from System pannel monitoring is off
- Auto Brightness option doesn't work after restart (stays same)
- when Orientation option is selected the battery consumption is more or much more (maybe calculation)
- when the Bluetooth wifi and gps options are seleceted (means open) battery consuption or calculation is less than close...
- Bluetooth stereo has problems... buttons play pause not working stable
- Wifi doesn't connect after disconnected for a while... (screen policy set to when screen turns off)
Also advanced launcher is buggy ..
if drakaz can install adw launcher .... I am very happy ( also we can able to update it from market) becouse if i use it or other launchers dial pad contact list comes later or take time...
Android keybord don't have Turkish characters like Ş,Ğ, I, ş, ğ, ı if it's possible it is very good for us to have...

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.
Relatively new to android so please bare with, A few weeks after purchasing i had to uhh update firmware etc etc ..which basically removed all apps/games i had previously purchased/installed off of the market .. Id just like to know if the new update's going to do the same .. not real keen on losing a great deal of paid apps

I read a lot about this and I can't find any simple instructions.
How can I listen to music and browse the web/play games/use other apps? Every time I start the music player and then hit home or back, the music stops. I've tried it using the speaker and the headphones. I have seen at some point the music player widget in the notifications bar so I know it can be done, but I just can't find the setting to make it work. Also, how do I access the equalizer?
