Samsung I7500 :: How To Close Apps?
Oct 25, 2010My question is how to close applications properly? (they're not closing either by back nor by home buttons) and how to prevent some applications to start at start up?

My question is how to close applications properly? (they're not closing either by back nor by home buttons) and how to prevent some applications to start at start up?
I have installed my 128 mb galaxy i7500 galaxo 1.6.3 ( with new patch)
I see some lags between switching programs and wait close apps messages..
I think everyone see such mesegase...
I tried to use beutiful widgets or some other widgets but my processing power gets high (also battery usage) and force close messages are make me nuts.
But then I thing it must related to ram issues (after copilot usage) becouse we have limitted ram.. my firend have a hero and she uses copilot faster like google maps...
So I installed root required memory programs like autokiller & minfreemanager.. and readjust memory values...
I make
Foreground 8 mb
Visible App 10
Secondary server 12
Hidden app 24
Content Provider 26
Empty app 24
When I make this changes my app launcher and other programs works faster than before and the transitions are better much better than before and less force closes...
I write it becouse I am very happy now... & just kind of information for the pros ...
Also I found problems ( no widgets or apps running behind) looking from System pannel monitoring is off
- Auto Brightness option doesn't work after restart (stays same)
- when Orientation option is selected the battery consumption is more or much more (maybe calculation)
- when the Bluetooth wifi and gps options are seleceted (means open) battery consuption or calculation is less than close...
- Bluetooth stereo has problems... buttons play pause not working stable
- Wifi doesn't connect after disconnected for a while... (screen policy set to when screen turns off)
Also advanced launcher is buggy ..
if drakaz can install adw launcher .... I am very happy ( also we can able to update it from market) becouse if i use it or other launchers dial pad contact list comes later or take time...
Android keybord don't have Turkish characters like Ş,Ğ, I, ş, ğ, ı if it's possible it is very good for us to have...
On XXIFF firmware after I turned on 3G I got the error "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.". When I updated to XXII5 I can turn on 3G, but GPRS is dead, both on 2G and 3G (the same error occurs). Internet access point is disabled in Quick Settings, when i turn it on the error occurs. On XXIFF I could turn on GPRS on 2G and it worked, however on that firmware the phone sometimes turned itself off and couldn't be turned on without removing the battery first.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWatching Taskiller, I've seen that programs I close continually reopen.
My first thought was 'oh, I have them set to sync, I'll turn that off' so I disabled all syncing items on the phone - went through every menu and every setting and submenu to ensure there wasn't anything calling up a program I didn't need running.
That said, many of the programs I randomly see when going into Taskiller are things like Sprint Navigation, Moxier Mail, Messaging, NFL Mobile Live, Sprint TV, the Weather Channel app, and Calendar.
If I've turned off syncing, things like Moxier Mail and Calendar shouldn't be opening - and the rest of the items up there DEFINITELY shouldn't be automatically reopening, sucking up my memory and (presumably) my battery.
My fiancee and I each got Moments on Tuesday, each love them, but we're each seeing these rogue programs continually restarting and while she's not meticulous and crazy about it, it's driving me nuts.
I grabbed Startup Auditor, but aside from that not even working from a warm reboot, it restarted itself repeatedly and that led to a quick uninstallation...not to mention that these programs weren't just starting on boot, but randomly appearing in my open apps list in Taskiller at various times I'd check it during the day.
First, I'm assuming we're not alone in seeing this issue, right?
Second, what the HELL can I do to stop these things from starting? I absolutely do NOT NEED the Weather Channel app to start up - I live in San Diego, damnit, it's gonna be 70 and partly cloudy!
I have the capitvate At&t and have rooted and sideloaded from this site and have downloaded apps. I use Launcher Pro and have no problems with it. Recently I had tried to open Google Calendar and the Daily Briefing app, (I don't know if there is more) and it comes up with "Sorry the process com.android.calendar has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. blah blah blah. Use #9900# to copy out log. Neither one ever opens now. I have not done a hard reset, but have turned off pulled the battery. Any ideas short of starting all over. I mean its not crucial as I use DejaOffice, but I finally got my outlook to sync to the phone and all and don't really want to have to go through all the headach. In addition I have some paid apps and am afraid it will be a pain to get them back. I probably did too much tweaking to the phone I assume. Any help or advice other than "Sucks to be you" would be great.

for the most part, whenever i run an app, i close it, then immediately open advanced task killer and shut it down to spare some memory. am i missing something? i have a lot of apps to entertain my son in a pinch (14 months old) like bubbles and a block puzzle game and a couple videos etc... and if any of them are running in the background, the phone gets pretty sluggish. (i am running galaxhero 1.1)
View 2 Replies View RelatedHey everyone, I'm sort of new to this but I figured I'd give it a shot to see if anyone might have an answer.
This happens fairly frequently actually, but I'll be in an app (any app - it's not really particular) and sometimes it'll just randomly shut me out of it and return to the home screen. As it does this, the home button blinks and vibrates incessantly until I hold down on it - at which point it brings up a sort of mini-list of six apps (the last six apps I've opened, I suppose). Once I clear out of that list, then the phone resumes working normally.
I initially thought it had something to do with the memory and running too many apps at once, so I downloaded Advance Task Killer and run that occasionally...only to find the same problem occurring, sometimes RIGHT after I kill all the apps.
Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone help me out?
I am a using samsung galaxy i 7500 in india could any one guide me where could i get the games ,Apps & firm ware updates.

I'm using wi-fi to access the market, which confuses me even more because the operator codes don't even come into play with this.

I see that Android apps are based off of Java... So would it be better for me to learn Java before getting started with the SDK and eclipse? Or is it just the same to jump right in on App development and learn on the fly?
View 12 Replies View RelatedBetween looking around here and on androidzoom, I found a couple of apps I want. Problem when I use myphone to access the market, it says that they aren't there. Specifically, I am looking for Launcherpro beta and Adobe Reader. If I find them in androidzoom and scan the barcode its not there either. Short of rooting my phone to install market enabler, is there anything else I can do ?? Or are these not appearing because they won't run on 1.6 ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if anyone's experienced this. I'm using II5 firmware with Galaxo 1.1 None of my google apps seems to ever sync if I turn off background data. It'd be cool if there was a way to let it use background data only when the phone is unlocked, but whatever it's alright. So, fr gmail you can manually go in and chose to "Refresh", but for Calendar and Contacts there is no way to do this within the app.. Also, it never seems to sync even when you use it for a while.Has anyone found a way to sync calendar or contacts without turning on background data?

Is this a canada thing or what? Is the firmware so old that these phones are useless?
I'm trying to boot up the galaxohero rom,I indeed successfully restore the gapps before, but now, it didn't work anymore. I'm using the recovery 4.2 image and i'm sure i have done everything as the how to odin guide said, but it still couldn't restore the g.apps, the restore was aborted after a few sec. I have even formatted the storage card and start again. For my successful attempt, i use the old methods with a g.apps directory, but now I'm using II5.tar to restore, and it didn't work anymore.

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.
