Since the 8gb with in the i7500 is flash and built in, does the phone use this to store apps/games? Or does it store it in the RAM? If it's in the RAM thats now a lot of space for apps/games especially when some are pretty big files.

I'm a long time WinMo user and I switched to Android recently. Bought Galaxy some two months ago. I like it. However, I've never owned an iPhone, in fact, I never even used an iPhone. So I am curious as to how the Galaxy compares with Apple's product. If someone has had extended experience with both, I'd appreciate your comments.

Has anyone tried they galaxy with "iPhone compatible" earphones?I've tried the Klipsch s4i and they did not really work with my phone. The sound would be 'hollow' unless you held the middle button (call answering button) on the earphones. Is this an OS limitation?I just bought UE triple.fi 10vi, and I'm wondering if they would work.. they are kind of costly.. so.. I'm just hoping that the s4i was an odd-off case.

I'm a beginner android developer and thinking about making a decently big game. I know that Flash air is only available to android 2.2 and future releases, but should I still make the game using Flash? Using Java would imo be so much more difficult and time consuming, but I suppose all android versions would be able to run it. Also, how efficient can android 2.2 run Flash Air? Can a game made in Flash Air run almost as fast as the game made with Java?

Well for me Android really fell off the edge of a cliff in the last 6mts as a "single platform across all devices". Anyway whilst we whinge in other threads and some kind souls try and fix it I thought might be good to have a thread for Apps which DO work well in Android after all wherever we are or aren't in the development curve the user experience can be really transformed by a neat App. As well as the old favorites I came across recently:
[1.5/K4] Speaker Shake really neat you pick up the phone shake it and it answers a call with the speaker phone on Dolphin Browser - haven't succeed out the really neat gesture controls yet but do like how it downloads you tubes no prob for viewing when off line.

someone showed me their iphone I have to admit, my jaw dropped and I was drooling when I saw some of their games (i would that all games were freebie versions)
Question: why does the android platform not have games that are as good??
I remember seeing one games, I think it was called scooter - the whole damn screen moved as u mived the iphone left and right I only played for a minute - but it looked damn awesome why dont we have as good games! the persons phone: heck, it was only an iphone 3g - so u cant say it was better hardware or anything angry birds - I like - apart from that, I haven't seen any games I would even rate (ok, so angry birds is just worms game reinvented - but the subtle use of great graphics make it brilliant)
Important: I have an x10 mini pro which is STILL running android 1.6 - is this the reason why? are there better games on 2.1 and 2.2? or is it to do with the fact that there are better developers for the iphone?

how to develop android applications. Right now I am trying to write a very simple app that calculates miles per gallon. i have wrote two versions in regular JAVA but after the past few day I just have gotten stuck trying to teach myself how i can "port" it over to work on an android phone. This one is just works within the compiler
Code:
import java.util.Scanner;
public class Mpg
{
public static void main(String [] args)
{
[code]...
I'm trying to get a simple app set up like the 2nd version, but I'm having trouble setting up the boxes for user input and re displaying it once calculated.

I have rooted my captivate, but don't know how to use it yet! I am still a newb to this! But I found and application called "tattachapkinstaller" where it lets you install apps from gmail. But the problem is when I tried to use the app it would say "install blocked: for security, your phone is set to block installation of application not sourced in android market". I thought rooting the phone will allow me to?

I have made apps for the iPhone, but want to also code for the Android but want to know if it is first worth my time, second worth my having to learn another language, and third worth the effort in the sense that am I going to make a profit from this. Also if in any way Android code is similar, then will it be hard to bring the iPhone (Xcode) files, or copy and paste my iPhone code into the Android code.

So we all know iPhone has better games than Android. And I'm love the "Fruit Ninja" game which is like the only one I enjoy playing on my Evo because it has good graphics and above all it's fun. I was wondering if there is anyway to get iPhone games on Android phones? Or if we can request someone to make some of the iPhone games for Android.

I'm really new with this thing of "Android development" and I was really excited when I found Appcelerator Titanium, but now I got the big surprise, it doesn't work on my computer. What other alternatives are there for Android development specially if they include HTML, JavaScript and CSS for creating such applications?

I ordered Le Pan II tablet yesterday.Today I found out that so far there are no ADB drivers released by manufacturer.Does it mean I will not be able to develop applications on this device at all? I do not mean developing applications that require root access (this tablet has not been rooted either but I am OK with this).

I am relatively new to android but a very big fan. I'm not a stranger to development on handheld devices, since I have some experience with Symbian OS, both 3rd and 5th edition, using C++. Implicitly I prefer development using this language, so I was a little disappointed when I heard that the preferred API for Android is in Java, though the core of Android is linux.
I read in a book that at least some parts of the Java API for android is just a wrapper for C/C++ frameworks. My question to you:
Would it be possible to develop applications in C++ without going through the Java wrapper? As far as I know, the NDK does not provide support for all the features within Android ( for example SQLite, though it's heart is not java ).
I believe it is not impossible ( I've seen some demos of early stages of Qt ported on Android ), but I'm not sure how to approach this. Would these applications be installable via an apk?
