Samsung Moment : Apps Keep Reopening After I Close Them?

Watching Taskiller, I've seen that programs I close continually reopen.
My first thought was 'oh, I have them set to sync, I'll turn that off' so I disabled all syncing items on the phone - went through every menu and every setting and submenu to ensure there wasn't anything calling up a program I didn't need running.
That said, many of the programs I randomly see when going into Taskiller are things like Sprint Navigation, Moxier Mail, Messaging, NFL Mobile Live, Sprint TV, the Weather Channel app, and Calendar.
If I've turned off syncing, things like Moxier Mail and Calendar shouldn't be opening - and the rest of the items up there DEFINITELY shouldn't be automatically reopening, sucking up my memory and (presumably) my battery.
My fiancee and I each got Moments on Tuesday, each love them, but we're each seeing these rogue programs continually restarting and while she's not meticulous and crazy about it, it's driving me nuts.
I grabbed Startup Auditor, but aside from that not even working from a warm reboot, it restarted itself repeatedly and that led to a quick uninstallation...not to mention that these programs weren't just starting on boot, but randomly appearing in my open apps list in Taskiller at various times I'd check it during the day.
First, I'm assuming we're not alone in seeing this issue, right?
Second, what the HELL can I do to stop these things from starting? I absolutely do NOT NEED the Weather Channel app to start up - I live in San Diego, damnit, it's gonna be 70 and partly cloudy!

Just installed chomp sms and then sms pop up. When I tried to launch the sms pop up to adjust settings...force close. I do get pop ups though. Slick. Like Chomp also.

I own a samsung moment which was rooted about a month+ ago. I started receiving an error message randomly today from HelixLauncher: The application HelixLauncher (process com.helixproject.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. It prompts me to force close then I receive the same error message yet again.
I cannot access anything on my phone as this error message renders anything on the phone almost completely inaccessible. I don't understand why I've randomly gotten stuck with this error message. I'm guessing my only option is a hard reset/safemode reboot and eventually re-root; this application seems to fuel a large part of the current 'root' I am running.

I'm trying to use papaya free and it keeps giving me an error unexpectedly forced to close. I rebooted my phone and still same error. One thing I did notice is it said install unsuccessfully after it downloaded. Any Ideas How to fix this

Is there an application (or one in the works) that will allow us to apply a sound effect to the slider opening and closing? Maybe base it off of when the screen rotates + keyboard lights up? I would love to apply 2 seperate notifications. One for open and one for close. Anyone got an application like this in the works or know of one that would work on Samsung Moment? I know there is a notification for when you unplug the power, but I'd love to have 2 seperate from that for JUST the slider. I can't believe we can't modify seperate notification sounds custom without apps.

I have the capitvate At&t and have rooted and sideloaded from this site and have downloaded apps. I use Launcher Pro and have no problems with it. Recently I had tried to open Google Calendar and the Daily Briefing app, (I don't know if there is more) and it comes up with "Sorry the process com.android.calendar has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. blah blah blah. Use #9900# to copy out log. Neither one ever opens now. I have not done a hard reset, but have turned off pulled the battery. Any ideas short of starting all over. I mean its not crucial as I use DejaOffice, but I finally got my outlook to sync to the phone and all and don't really want to have to go through all the headach. In addition I have some paid apps and am afraid it will be a pain to get them back. I probably did too much tweaking to the phone I assume. Any help or advice other than "Sucks to be you" would be great.

Hey everyone, I'm sort of new to this but I figured I'd give it a shot to see if anyone might have an answer.
This happens fairly frequently actually, but I'll be in an app (any app - it's not really particular) and sometimes it'll just randomly shut me out of it and return to the home screen. As it does this, the home button blinks and vibrates incessantly until I hold down on it - at which point it brings up a sort of mini-list of six apps (the last six apps I've opened, I suppose). Once I clear out of that list, then the phone resumes working normally.
I initially thought it had something to do with the memory and running too many apps at once, so I downloaded Advance Task Killer and run that occasionally...only to find the same problem occurring, sometimes RIGHT after I kill all the apps.
Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone help me out?

Do not get me wrong - I love the Android, especially the vast amount of apps to choose from. But has anyone noticed how much more vibrant and polished the Palm Pre apps are as opposed to Android apps? Take the weather apps for example (Weather Bug or Weather Channel). They are so much brighter and complex on the Pre. I know the Pre apps are far less in number, but the ones that are there seem much more polished. Am I crazy, or does anyone else notice this?

I have installed my 128 mb galaxy i7500 galaxo 1.6.3 ( with new patch)
I see some lags between switching programs and wait close apps messages..
I think everyone see such mesegase...
I tried to use beutiful widgets or some other widgets but my processing power gets high (also battery usage) and force close messages are make me nuts.
But then I thing it must related to ram issues (after copilot usage) becouse we have limitted ram.. my firend have a hero and she uses copilot faster like google maps...
So I installed root required memory programs like autokiller & minfreemanager.. and readjust memory values...

When I make this changes my app launcher and other programs works faster than before and the transitions are better much better than before and less force closes...
I write it becouse I am very happy now... & just kind of information for the pros ...
Also I found problems ( no widgets or apps running behind) looking from System pannel monitoring is off
- Auto Brightness option doesn't work after restart (stays same)
- when Orientation option is selected the battery consumption is more or much more (maybe calculation)
- when the Bluetooth wifi and gps options are seleceted (means open) battery consuption or calculation is less than close...
- Bluetooth stereo has problems... buttons play pause not working stable
- Wifi doesn't connect after disconnected for a while... (screen policy set to when screen turns off)
Also advanced launcher is buggy ..
if drakaz can install adw launcher .... I am very happy ( also we can able to update it from market) becouse if i use it or other launchers dial pad contact list comes later or take time...
Android keybord don't have Turkish characters like Ş,Ğ, I, ş, ğ, ı if it's possible it is very good for us to have...

Been messing around with the Moment for a couple of days now. The battery life kinda sucks but the phone is very cool. Fast downloads and the Android Market is great. how to remove apps that came preloaded ie: weather channel, bejeweled demo? Also when you return to the browser it takes you back to where you returned to the home screen telling me it keeps pages running. Any idea how to stop or shut them down when you exit them?

so i just put 2.1 on my phone and for some reason i cant open the maority of apps i download. most of the ones not working are live wall papers, but there has been a few others. im running helix. any ideas how to load those live wall papers. and why random apps would not open? it takes me to the market from the notification sreen and the open option is greyed out.

Alright I've rooted to Joeykrim 1.9.5 and I can't put themes ON. Also I can't find an UNCOMPLICATED way to get rid of unwanted apps. I think its because MAx's recovery isn't loaded but IDK. I've tried the volume, speak, end to load themes but doesn't work. Anyone give me a hand??

I know there are a few apps threads, but did not really find one that would describe what they do or why others might like it. Might help others find something that they did not know was out there in the market. So if anyone has any suggestions, please post with the name of the app, description and if it costs or if it is free (free is always good).I just found this app called tunewiki.This is a music app. Not just another regular music app, but pretty cool. So if you have any songs on your phone, you click on it, then it will find the cover art (kind of like what pandora does) but also show the song lyrics. You can then hit the tv tube looking icon and then it will search youtube so you can see the video. And this is free.

I had my Samsung moment was acting up, had to have it factory reset. I backed up my apps in the Astro file app. Now I downloaded that app. but I don't know how to restore all my apps. Please can someone tell me how to restore them? Or do I have to do each one individually? And I can't remember most of them.

Is there anyway to make certain apps private, hidden or locked on the menu screen. I have lil brothers and nephews who I don't mind playing games or watching movies on my phone; but I don't want them getting into certain "adult" apps or my fake call and sms apps. I believe it's possible to do b/c there's an app called Call Log (Secret Monitor) that has in its description "No icon in the list of applications. Completely hidden at you eyes". I downloaded it just to check and it really doesn't appear in the menu. So does anyone know how to do it for any app that we choose?

The Android Applications forum keeps misleading me because people talk about apps and features that aren't available in Android 1.5, so I thought I'd ask the other Moment owners about home replacement apps. I think I'd like something, but I'm really hesitant to pay for one that I may not like, and I also worry that I'd not really understand all I could do with one and therefore not truly appreciate it.
I've also seen very mixed reviews on nearly every home replacement app.
So I'm curious about the opinions of other Moment owners on these home replacement apps and also if there are any good places for thorough information on them.

I finally updated my moment and I need help getting it back to how it was. I backed up all my apps, text and calls, but I don't know how to get them back on the phone. Google did my contacts, but not my text. I see my text in my gmail, but how do I put them back on my phone, as well as my apps. I went to the market and downloaded Astro as b4, and I went to my sdcard and to the folder named backup, but what's next?

i have had my phone for a few weeks and i am loving it. i downloaded the pandahome hero theme for my phone and it is really good and runs a little faster than the moment stock screen, but it crashes a lot. does anyone else have this theme and have similar issues? it seems to freak out when i open the key board when im not in a texting app. just curious if anyone has run into this issue. next pandora does not run well at all. everytime i do anything while pandora is up it starts breaking up and sounds like a transformer is talking. wondering if there is a fix for this at all. thanks for any help. also in an unrealted note, has anyone used androidplayground.net? its like 2 bucks a month for unlimited free apps. is this a good site or is it shifty? just curios if anyones tried it.

How i clear the defaults for apps that don't show up in settings>applications>manage applications? i have the regular and 3d galleries installled, and when i opened the stock gallery, it asked me to choose between gallery gallery and gallery camera when veiwing. i selected gallery gallery and set to default but now when i open a folder, it always opens the 3d gallery folder. i'd like to change this.

I just rooted and upgraded to 2.1DD10 last night. I find 2.1's lock screen extremely annoying. I currently have it disabled with No Lock. Is there any apps that have a better lock screen? Or an app that you use? I don't want to use PandaHome or apps like that. Just want a simple app that its only function is a lock screen.
