Samsung Vibrant :: Media Players To Support MP4s
Jul 21, 2010Are there any players that support MP4s.

Are there any players that support MP4s.
Does certain media players support different codecs
I'm looking for a media player that supports some kind of lossless.
Liking the phone but the video playback is driving me nuts. I transfer Mp4s to the SD card, a new folder called Video and the phone sees them but only plays the audio. These Mp4s all work on my iPod Touch so is there something not right about them for Android? ie do they need reconverting?
They all have .mp4 as extensions and I have tried having the new video file on it's own on the SD card as well as trying it in the DCIM folder as suggested on another forum. Cheers for any help as I'm thinking this is all too much of a faff and I will have to get the iPhone. Shame as the HTC deal with Orange is very cheap.
Does any one know of any audio players with good sound or an equalizer for free or reasonable priced.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of any apps or media players that have a sound equalizer? Speakers on my Motorola Cliq aren't great and at full volume the speakers pop because of the bass on some songs. Equalizer would be great so I can turn the bass down as the Cliqs speakers cant handle it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I added a bunch of songs to my phone for listening in work, I noticed a huge chunk of them got lumped together in a folder "unknown artist/unknown album". The common factor was they all ended up with a track number before each song title. I have always been a stickler for removing track numbers when working with my MP3s, so any idea what may be triggering this phenomenon? I went back and verified some of the culprit tracks in iTunes and no where in any setting, was there a track number associated with the song name.
View 10 Replies View RelatedOne of the main reasons I went with a android phone instead of an iPhone is the flash support. But it seems my vibrant doesn't really have full flash support. I could not watch a "flip" video from my email. I got a flash media player error message. Is there anything I can do about this or just have to wait for android 2.2? Will froyo provide full flash support?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a quick question/issue on the Exchange Calendar support on the Vibrant. I can accept a meeting invite I receive just fine, but if I try and schedule a meeting from my phone and add recipients, an invite never gets emailed out. The event is sent to my exchange calendar, but not any of the recipients I specify.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAre there any video players for the HTC Desire that support MKV playback? this would be VERY advantageous for me as most of my movies/music videos/videos are in MKV format
If not, what are the best players for AVI/MP4 files?
How come the vibrant does not support landscape mode on the home screens? Sprint variation of the Galaxy S is able to do this. Froyo ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI should have posted this here instead of over in apps. i know the "best MP3 player" debate has been beaten to death, but i want to know whick player does the best job at randomizing your playlists? I have a large collection on my 16g card and mixzing still likes to stick to one or two albums ... the only things i need are great random (i like to shuffle all my songs and let it play) and a album cover and forward, backward, pause buttons like mixzings ..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Incredible, and I have music stored on both the phone and the SD card. Meridian and Cubed only read the music that's on the SD card, and while the music player that came with the phone reads both, it can't play FLAC or apple lossless files (DoubleTwist does neither). Is there any way to either reconfigure Meridian or Cubed, is there anyway to get the music player that came with the phone to play those formats, or is there some other player that reads all the data AND plays those formats.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was hoping to be able to listen to audio media with my bluetooth headset. I've only tried one podcast player (Mypod) and it doesn't play through bluetooth. The headset does work with the phone. Is this media player dependent? Is there a work around?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using doubleTwist to sync & manage my music on my HTC EVO 4G (and Palm Pre) and I've had just about enough of its slow iTunes syncing, slow device syncing and overall clunkiness (yes, I'm a previous user of the iPod/iTunes and Zune/Zune Software systems). Though I love the doubleTwist player for Android I'm done with doubleTwist. And no I'm not interested in Salling Media Sync (especially since its not free).
If I manage things myself by manually syncing/copying music to my Android (i.e., artist/album/ folder structure under /sdcard/music/):
[1] Where do I place the playlists (in .m3u format)?: /sdcard/music/playlists OR /sdcard/music/playlist1.m3u, playlist2.m3u, etc.
[2] what Android players are compatible with this format/structure (i.e., that'll pick up the playlists just fine)?

View 21 Replies View RelatedThis is technically a Win7 question, but much related to Android. On my older Android devices, when connected to PC via USB for file transfer, they would "mount" the SD card as a standard disk drive within Windows. On my newer Android devices, however, they instead connect the device to Windows as a "portable media player." This is fine, except for one thing which really irks me. Every time the portable media player director structure comes up, it is displayed as giant icons. If I change it to "list" or "detail" view within Windows, there are two big problems:
- it doesn't stick (i.e. I'll reconnect later and it will be back to giant icon view)
- it doesn't apply recursively to all subfolders
With regular Win7 file explorer (i.e. for disk drives), it is really easy to set a default folder view for all disk drives on the whole system, and it will stick forever, and apply to all subfolders on every drive. Is it possible to do the same thing with portable media players?
This post in AndroidGuys claims that the Epic 4G's Media Hub update will also work on other Galaxy S phones. Not that I care about the Media Hub that much but has anyone tried to apply the Epic 4G's Media Hub update to their non-Epic 4G Galaxy S phones? View 6 Replies View RelatedOk, so I may be leaving the USA soon. I plan on unlocking my phone and going out of the country with it. I don't know how long I may be gone.maybe years, so here are a few questions.
1. I plan on going South Africa. According to this site, both the phone and 3g should work perfectly right? GSM World Coverage Map- GSM Country List by frequency bands
2. I have seen an app to unlock the Vibrant. It is by DaGentooBoy from XDA. Its called Samsung Galxy S Unlock. Would it be better for me to use this app or to just request T-Mobile to give me the unlock code. Are there any pros or cons for using either method.
3. If the OTA update or Froyo don't come out before I am gone, will I be able to get an OTA over wifi while I am in South Africa. Just to clarify, I will be using a local sim over there. I will discontinue from tmobile when I leave the US I know nothing of rooting. This is my first smartphone, so if possible I would be hesitant of doing any updates via the computer that requires me to loose all my info. I have too many apps and saved games and settings to download again so its just a scary thought of loosing it all.
4. Will google navigation work overseas. I have heard people say yes and no. I am hesitant to buy apps like co-pilot as they cost a lot and have mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out about this.
what music players does everyone use and how do you sync them? i think i've got a pretty good set up with my mac. I used to use the Double twist player with double twist installed on my mac to sync with iTunes. works pretty well, just wish it had landscape on the device. then i heard about WinAmp being on the android so i switched to that. better device playlist management, plus it still works with the double twist files so i can still sync with double twist on my mac.
