I have rooted my phone and have now the recovery mode from HD blog. It's was working fine. So I tried to get the Galaxhero ROM installed. I did the following steps:
1) Reboot in recovery mode (Volume down + both Call buttons) and choose "Nandroid backup" to save a backup of your current ROM just in case.
2) Backup G apps
3) Then, choose "Wipe data/factory reset". The phone will reboot in recovery mode again.
4) Choose "Apply sdcard:update.zip" (second menu entry on the recovery screen)
5) Restore Google applications ("Restore G.Apps")
6) "Enable root (su)".
But then enable root failed! Anyway I went on further with reboot system. It rebooted till the "android HD logo" showed up and then suddenly the screen went off and it seemed like my phone went off. So I went back to the recovery mode and did the following steps:
Wipe data
Restore backup
Restore G apps
Enable root SU, but again enable su failed!!
Again I choose reboot system, and when the reboot came again to the "android HD logo". It stuck there and stayed looping.
First, why do I still see the android HD logo again because I did a wipe!
Second, How can I get my phone working again!
So i've persuaded o2 to have a look at my phone in the hope of replacing it. First they've asked me to reset the phone using *2767*3855#. If i have the same problems (dialpad not working during calls) then i've to return it. If their engineer cannot fix it, i'll (hopefully) get a replacement. So i'm running Galaxo with JC6, what should I do before returning the phone? I'm thinking Nandroid and then copy everything to my hard disk and remove that from my phone. Then use ODIN to install the latest official firmware (which is?). Then I run the reset command they gave me. That about right or should I do something else?
Has ANy one tried opening Samsung Galaxy i7500?, I have chnaged to galaxo 1.6.4. and running it happily downloading stuff and all and all of sudden battery discharged to the point that it would not get charged any more, Insitailly I thought I fried my battery with excess charging, hence I looked for batteries, fortunately in my THIRD world county India, there is no battery in stock at service stations. Hence I needed to wait for 5 days. Now remember I said fortunately.. whyy....cause then i tried restore the old OS, which Galaxo promptly helped me with, Now i tried charging again, but NO way, but the phone was getting heated up like it was on stove or something and it again stopped charging, So I understood its not the battery but the motherboard which has problem...
Now my cell is still in warranty, so before giving it to service station, I want to open it up and see whats what.. I got the manual already.it seems pretty simple( I have disassembled AT& T's Tilt, Nokai 6630, Nokia 6600, and many small others as well) but before that I would like to ask people has any one done it before ? anything I should be looking out for?
I try to make a recovery, but i get stuck in the first step for the 50th time LOL!!
on the command prompt when i have to do the fast boot, and next, <waiting for device> there is no conection between the phone and the computer, and stays <waiting for device> forever!
what am i doing wrong?
I am wondering how to apply themes from xda in our galaxy. A lot of themes say that will only work on cyanogen mod rom and i am not that expert to make experiments with my phone. The way of setting a theme must be the same (update.zip or correct me if i am wrong). I think we can make a list here of the working themes on galaxy and maybe a how to install or modify themes to work with galaxy.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Samsung Galaxy i7500 with Bell mobility and I am trying to figure all these threads out and how to root, and how to upgrade my firmware, but the biggest hurdle I have come to is my pc will not recognize my phone as a 'phone' it only sees the internal sd card and the external card. I have downloaded three different versions of the samsung PC suite, and everyone will not recognize it. Am I missing an important driver? All I am doing is connecting via USB, and on my phone I choose to mount USB so I can access my sd cards on my PC.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhile taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3
I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution.
Does GAOSP Froyo support live wallpapers for i7500? If yes, can you recommend some that seem to run fine without (major) slowdown? I would suspect that the CPU is too slow to run most live wallpapers, but there might be some neat ones that are good to go?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android and rooting. I have a Galaxy S and love it! I didn't even know what rooting was. I just came across it after looking for ways to make my phone faster. After a while I realized my phone speed slowed down and was looking for the reason behind it. That's when I learned rooting is the answer. So I used the One Click method and everything is fine so far.
My Kernel is 2.6.29 root@SE-S602 #2 and Baseband is XXJF3 (2.1). So I went into my apps and saw the superuser permission app. But it doesn'thttp://android.bigresource.com/add/add.php work! It is just a blacked out screen. So I am not sure where to go from here. I have tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one, just guides how to root. How to make my phone faster from this point? I get confused with all these ROM things! Which is the best ROM? MoDaCo? Is there a Froyo version of it?
i7500 does 1.6 work on this model if so where can i get?

Supposedly The original galaxy S root hack is supposed to work with all versions of which should include the Samsung Vibrant.
I was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

Some people have reported the MI_04 combination above is not working; you may want to try MI_1 to MI_4 to be sure.
go to the phone -> Settings -> Applications -> Development -> enable USB debugging
Windows will ask for a new driver - this is used for debugging. Point the driver search to c:android-sdk-windows-1.5_r3usb_driverx86.
When i followed the above steps system tried to install driver and then prompt following error.

I just finished updating to Drakaz Recovery 4.6.1 and enabled root. I still cannot remount the system with "adb remount". It gives me a permission denied error. I can go into ADB shell and do a SU, but that won't allow me to remove unwanted programs in /system/app/
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am going from a Blackberry to the Fascinate so this is my first Android device. So I have learned a lot but I still have a lot to learn lol. What is the benefit of installing Launcher Pro? It is just an app in the market correct? If I install it, it will replace touch wiz right? I have read about what it can do and I like what it does but I am more concerned about what I may lose from the touch wiz features. I guess because I am not really sure what features are exactly touch wiz and what are part of the phone itself. Are there widgets I will lose or apps I will lose? It seems to be the people are overwhelmingly in favor of launcher pro so I am just wondering why.
