View 3 RepliesI currently own the Samsung Moment and at first I loved it. But now, the size is really getting to me. I have had it for 28 days. Should I take it back for the HTC Hero although the Moment has a faster processor? Also if i root the Hero, will it be faster?

Long story short: JIT make your Samsung moment 2-3 times faster when running non native programs people reported to fix stability problem: please disable live wallpaper and remove custom launcher. You will need joey's recovery to apply. You need to restart the phone 4 times.
Anyone have any recs on a browser to run faster than the stock Android browser on the Moment?
I downloaded Dolphin, which gets a lot of positive reviews on these forums, but found that it ran even slower than the stock. Tried Steel but it wouldn't load on my Moment.
Am used to Opera Mini on my Instinct loading faster than what I'm getting with the Moment which I find hard to accept given how much faster the phone is supposed to be...
OK so i got this application because it says it can make phone faster or make it save battery, i dont know what settings to have it at or what presets for sleep/wake, etc. if someone can help me as to what settings it would help alot. currently its running at 800max and 66 min.

View 4 Replies View Relatedanyone else having this problem? using 2.1 under caulkin's kernel. it seems like I can kind of overload the phone doing too much and the mobile network connection on my phone will disappear completely. this is while downloading something that may download too fast, sometimes it happens loading .GIF images too. I'll have to restart the phone to get the internet back. this happens no matter if I'm using wireless, USB or bluetooth tethering.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a 3-week old Galaxy S and i'm loving it. but i noticed that it seems to be "slower" in some ways (compared to the iPhone 4) in the way it open & closes an app, the way it loads an app sometimes, the way it animates in going back to previous screens or menus and in general really. don't get me wrong it's quick but having a 1GHz processor i'm kinda left feeling and wanting.

Just look at all the comments of some pretty angry htc phone users lol
To be fair, I doubt that it would really take until Dec. 25th to get it done but its just ironic in my opinion with all the Samsung hate (by reason of software updates) as of late.
I do hope that Motorola, HTC, LG and Samsung all update their handsets very soon and timely though
I have read a couple of people on here say that the Slide is faster than the vibrant. That the slide's browser is actually faster? Is that true? I would of thought the vibrant would be faster? I'm having trouble deciding what phone to buy next.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHere I am with 2 HTC Hero phones, with only one on an active account. I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account. Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Maybe we can work out a swap. Now for the additional 1 to 2 feet of snow that is forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow, on top of the 2.5 feet still on the ground.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the oclf, rooted and its all working nicely. Tested on quadrant and got this big sexy bar right at the top. Phone seems a little faster for sure. But if u use quadrant advanced u can see that CPU speed isn't really changing much if at all. Its i/o that is increasing and giving us these huge scores. Whatever that is. So are there further steps I can take to speed up my phone.
Is oclf actually overclocking my phone or just giving it another file system which speeds up processing slightly? I also use launcherpro which seems to help a bit for home screen navigating and such. But I am looking for a real noticeable boost. I know some of the ROMs out there are pretty fast as well but I am a little reluctant to remodel my phone much more with froyo supposedly on the horizon.
I am getting a bit futher with setup of my screens and experimented with folders. I fine them quite slow to populate when opening, even if everything else seems to be running fast.Same for you? Alternatives?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI ended up buying a Behold 2 off of ebay (new) and I still sort of have a battery problem after reading and doing most of the tips on here. My phone charged overnight and has been unplugged on standby since 7am (now 2pm) and the battery is at 74%. Is this normal? WiFi/BT/GPS are all disabled, I always kill unnecessary tasks with taskiller but still, any other suggestions?
Also: it's some cool stuff you guys are doing with the galaxy ROM; I tried rooting it last night but got $ when I typed in su instead of #. Oh well, I can wait until the galaxy ROM is 100% working, afaik the vibration still isn't. With classes picking up again next week, vibrate would be my only setting.
Love the Vibrant, but the charging using the included charger is unbelievably slow. Does anyone know if an aftermarket charger would allow for faster charges?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android and rooting. I have a Galaxy S and love it! I didn't even know what rooting was. I just came across it after looking for ways to make my phone faster. After a while I realized my phone speed slowed down and was looking for the reason behind it. That's when I learned rooting is the answer. So I used the One Click method and everything is fine so far.
My Kernel is 2.6.29 root@SE-S602 #2 and Baseband is XXJF3 (2.1). So I went into my apps and saw the superuser permission app. But it doesn'thttp://android.bigresource.com/add/add.php work! It is just a blacked out screen. So I am not sure where to go from here. I have tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one, just guides how to root. How to make my phone faster from this point? I get confused with all these ROM things! Which is the best ROM? MoDaCo? Is there a Froyo version of it?
If you need a fast charge turn the handset off for awhile and see the difference.

View 38 Replies View RelatedI currently own a Palm Pre and I'm ready to ditch it for an Android device. Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.
