I currently own the Samsung Moment and at first I loved it. But now, the size is really getting to me. I have had it for 28 days. Should I take it back for the HTC Hero although the Moment has a faster processor? Also if i root the Hero, will it be faster?

I would like to know which gpu is faster between the iphone and the captivate. I'm leaning towards the captivate and gonna try to get it tomorrow or Saturday, but i also want a phone that could game. the iphone has some pretty cool games and i haven't seen some really fun ones on the captivate. just would like to know which has a better to gpu to game. I'm not expecting some crazy graphics cus i know there just phones, but just wanna know.

I'm coming over to Android from the original iPhone, so I thought I would write up some of my experiences so far.Love the phone, love the ability to customize phone functions. Love the notification panel up top. The touch response is not as good as my 2 year old iPhone though, that was a disappointment.
Main gripes - my 2 favorite apps for iPhone are Bejeweled and NY Times crossword. Bejeweled on android is a bad imitation of the iPhone version, and NY Times crosswords is not available.Couple of quick questions too Does the Moment have a dedicated 3D processor like iPhone?I transferred music from iTunes on the mac (latest version) to the SD card on the moment. Only one album seems to show the tagging correctly. Any ideas on that?
Does anyone know if it's possible to put a faster processor in the motorola droid? ie: a snapdragon processor, a droid 2 chip, etc?...or maybe an amoled screen? or does it not work that way?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThought some people may be interested in how to get JAR/JAD files running on their Samsung Moment (this should work for most Android devices, but I've been running on my Moment). I also don't think that all JAR/JAD programs convert; but so far most mine have...
1. With your JAD & JAR files, go to: Get APK and convert to an APK file
2. Save your APK file onto your SD card
3. Download AppManager (one word) or comparable program that allows you to install from your SD card
4. Install Java J2ME Runner App
5. Using AppManager, install the created apk file from your SD card
Your file should be found both in your main folder; as well as in the J2ME's "App Manager". You may need to play with the configuration to get the program to fit alright. I have Auto detect Game Canvas clicked; but have had to change it for a few games.It's not perfect, but it seems to work alright with some of my old java games.
Idk if you guys heard of this but it is a great app. It will make your backlight blink at intervals to notify you of a sms or missed call. It is great considering that the moment doesnt have a LED light. It is free so try it out.

I picked up a Samsung Moment through Sprint back around June. I wanted the new Sprint 4G phone but figured I would make due with the Moment until the craze died down. Anyhow, I own a small firearm forum,Semi-auto Rifles. This is my main reason for going with a driod phone. It allows me to monitor my site away from home without popping out my laptop. Well for the last 2-3 months the Moment did it's job flawlessly. I was able to use it to maintain my site...even when my cable modem blew up one time and some cable guy disconnected our cable by mistake.My problem started this past weekend when all of a sudden my Samsung Moment started having issues locating my website. I keep getting the same "Web Page Not Available" message. Now sometimes it will allow me to access the home page and then freak out on the forum index page. This is the only site I have trouble with, I can access any other site and surf until I'm blue in the face. I took my phone down to the local Sprint store and they said my phone was out dated. So after 15mins and deleting all my Apps, they had my phone working again. Then come about 2-3hrs later, I started getting the same Web Page Not Available" message. During the whole time my site has been up and running with zero issues.
Anyhow, does anyone have a clue? I'm lost and this phone is worthless if I can't even access my own website. While I was at the Sprint store, I started tooling around on the new HTC 4G phone. It pulled up my web site and worked for about 10-15 minutes before it started giving me the same dang "Web Page Not Working" message. So I'm not sure if it's a phone thing or a Sprint thing? Then for the interest of Science, I started surfing other related forums to see if maybe Sprint was blocking firearm forums. I was able to tool around on other gun forums for about 10 minutes with zero issues.
I have recently been given a samsung moment for sprint, unfortunately i have verzons service and i am very happy with them. i have played with several android phones but this is the first time i have had one of my own, and i am still learning.. i have to questions. 1) is it possible to change the network on the phone. 2) can i do it myself, and if so how???
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, I mentioned that I exchanged my first Moment due to a clicking noise that would occur any time I pressed down on the glass near the left side edge. I originally thought it was a defect in the glass area and that maybe the plastic underneath had cracked etc. However, tonight I realized the clicking noise is actually from loose plastic on the outer edge of the QK where the down arrow is and the Z key.
The two Moments I've owned each had this defect. I'd say it was just wear and tear except I've only had each phone a total of 3 days. I have my wife's phone as a comparison and her phone has never had this problem, whereas my two phones have and each of them were perfectly fine at the time of purchase.I'm not returning the second one unless it gets considerably worse, for now it's just a clicking noise that you can hear in a quiet room. I'm guessing this is due to the fact I carry it in my jeans pockets and she carries it in a purse, so there is not as much pressure on the phone.

Long story short: JIT make your Samsung moment 2-3 times faster when running non native programs people reported to fix stability problem: please disable live wallpaper and remove custom launcher. You will need joey's recovery to apply. You need to restart the phone 4 times.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy samsung moment (NOT rooted with 2.1) gets stuck in a boot loop when I restart it. After about 10 mins the lock screen comes up and if I unlock it quick enough the phone runs fine but if I dont unlock it within a certain period of time it will just go back into booting up and go back to showing the samsung logo.
The phone has been running very sluggish since Ive been experiencing this and Im about to do a factory data reset but I dont feel like reloading all my apps and redoing all my settings. Does anyone know of a way to fix this without resetting the whole phone? anyone else experiencing the same thing? any help would be appreciated. Im about to get a blackberry, I love the android when it works but it just seems the slightest adjustment to the phone sends the whole thing haywire. Living with this aggrevation is becoming not worth it.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI've always said that the Behold2 is a great looking phone. It has software/OS issues for sure. However, I don't use the cube so, that bit of nonsense doesn't get in my way. The laggi-ness does get on my nerves because it slows things to a crawl much too often. Sometimes programs or the TouchWiz slider don't open when they should. Frozen-ness happens too.
The scary part is that I have very few third party apps installed. Sometimes the controls for the Media player don't show up at all. So you can see why I am reticent to install anything beyond what I consider to be essentials so as not to over-burden an already beleaguered setup.Considering these known issues, why were we ignored on the Android 1.6 release? We weren't graced with 2.0 either. Now 2.1 is on the horizon and there is no word about its being sent our way. I'd like to think that Samsung or Tmo wants to keep us happy so that we don't jump ship in a few days. I could dump this puppy because I am within my 14 days and am not a happy camper.
Questions: What if anything will an upgraded OS do to improve the performance of our processor? Or, what improvements might we expect with a new OS release?
I new here & new to Galaxy which i brought a month ago. I am running JC6 Drakaz. I wondering, may be this is a dum question but can the OSX of Iphone can be installed instead of Android. I thought few things are common like screen resolution, almost similar processor speed. With OSX you will get all multitouch, good performance and of coerce ITunes store.

To be fair, I doubt that it would really take until Dec. 25th to get it done but its just ironic in my opinion with all the Samsung hate (by reason of software updates) as of late.

I have a activated prepaid tmobile sim card that i have been trying to use to get the behld update but I've had no luck. I've tried the force update posted in this thread but it did not work for me. I've also called tmobile and samsung and all they could tell me was that updates are sent out Monday nights so ive had my phone on with more than fifty percent battery and tmobile sim in every monday night. I really need this update can anyone help?

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. View 11 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the oclf, rooted and its all working nicely. Tested on quadrant and got this big sexy bar right at the top. Phone seems a little faster for sure. But if u use quadrant advanced u can see that CPU speed isn't really changing much if at all. Its i/o that is increasing and giving us these huge scores. Whatever that is. So are there further steps I can take to speed up my phone.
Is oclf actually overclocking my phone or just giving it another file system which speeds up processing slightly? I also use launcherpro which seems to help a bit for home screen navigating and such. But I am looking for a real noticeable boost. I know some of the ROMs out there are pretty fast as well but I am a little reluctant to remodel my phone much more with froyo supposedly on the horizon.
I am getting a bit futher with setup of my screens and experimented with folders. I fine them quite slow to populate when opening, even if everything else seems to be running fast.Same for you? Alternatives?
