Samsung Moment :: Screen Protector Needed?
Apr 9, 2010
Just wondering if a screen protector is needed? Anyone go commando with their Moment? I've had a screen protector on mine since I got it, however I have oily skin and I've found the oils just gather on the protector and discolor/distort the image.

Can anyone suggest a screen protector for the Samsung Moment? I am coming over from an Iphone and used a Power Support Anti-Glare screen protector. They are the best I have ever used. I am just assuming they will not make one for the Moment. I am considering trying to trim one down to fit the Moment, but not sure how it will work. I would prefer something similar, uses static to hold it on, not an adhesive. You can remove it and reuse them.

Is a screen protector necassary for the moment? I have a invisible shield on it and i feel like it doesn't let the AMOLED screen really shine. I want to remove it, but is it needed or is the screen scratch resistant?

Google verify apps now has an always on scanning mechanism for catching harmful apps, but little is talked about if this is all you need now, negating the need for a 3rd party virus protector or not. So what the ideal config is with this now?

Anyone know for sure if this will fit the Samsung Vibrant properly?
SGP Steinheil ULTRA CRYSTAL Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S i9000
It says it's Galaxy S i9000. I'm not sure it's going to be exact.
If not, anyone want to suggest some alternatives?
No, don't bother suggesting invisishield.
I've used Steinheil before, so I know I like that kind.
Is the Ghost Armor closer to the rubbery feel of the Inivisishield or the hard plastic feel of the Steinheil?
How's the Amzer one?
http://www.amzer.com/Amzer-Super-Clear-Screen-Protector-with-Cleaning-Cloth-P88775.htm
I've heard that the T-Mo one doesn't cover the buttons at the bottom too, so I'd prefer not to get that one.

I picked up a gadget guard (full body) for 13.97 from eBay user jusage. You can also order it from iPhone, iPod, Cell Phone, Cases, Screen Protectors, Shields, Covers by Invisible Gadget Guard.
So I received this, steamed up a room for 10 minutes and then made a little bit of a solution (water and a drop or 2 of dish soap) I then began the process to apply it. Trust me, this isn't easy to apply. The video makes it seem easy but it is actually pretty hard. Now as of now the screen has some soap/water bubbles that are under, but it was pretty easy to squeegee out the big air bubbles. I finished that, but then it slid off again so I had to reapply. After this, I went to the battery cover and I put it on. The back was really easy to apply, I just put it on right onto place and it fit perfectly. The bottom of the back was fairly simple to put on because it runs a little bit small. Now the camera one comes attached to the sides and I tried to put it on. It was WAY to big. The hole for the camera was pretty big, but the sides went way over and just didn't fit at all. Then I tried to put the front cover (over the 3.5 and the bottom) and it just didn't fit at all. The actual product itself is okay ( I honestly hope that the bubbles go away) and it isn't to resistant. It is just about the same feel of the invisible shield.
Overall- I would recommend several other products over this. Personally, I would choose the invisible shield over this. It is much easier to put, and just a better product (the invisible shield is what I mean). I would also suggest the screen protector's from AT&T because I have put them on my past devices. So would I buy this case again? Probably not...
Feel- 7/10
Applying- 3/10 (pretty hard to put on well)
Look- will keep you updated

How's it going fellow Vibrant owners? I'm new here, been lurking for awhile and decided to register to ask some questions and help out others. My question; is this usb cable the same as the one provided with the vibrant? Amazon.com: Samsung Replacement USB Data Charging Cable for Samsung SPH-M330, SCH-R100, SGH-T939, SCH-R850: Cell Phones & Service looks identical, but anyone have input? or atleast anywhere thats cheap? I'd like to order from Amazon so I can do a group my order for a screen protector for those curious:
Amazon.com: REALOOK T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant Anti-Fingerprint Premium LCD Screen Protector 2 Pack: Electronics.

Any found any good cases online for their Samsung Galaxy S. So far I am finding people selling crappy plastic things with cheesy logos for $25+ here in Canada. What a rip off... would love to find a place that will ship and buy some cases at around $5 each. Looking for a hard case with a screen protector + a running armband.

Anybody know for sure whether the Moment's screen is glass or plastic?I've looked around for the answer, but there seems to be conflicting reports. So far I'm amazed at how scratch resistant the screen is.Still pristine after heavy usage, so I'm assuming it's a glass screen. But I haven't been able to find any definitive source.

Well having just got a X10. It has a pre-installed screen protector. Somehow I managed to scratch the screen protector and now I want to remove it however I'm having much difficulty removing it. Now I'm thinking if I should get a replacement screen protector as the Rogers version doesn't come with a spare one or just go without it. Anyone without the screen protector wanna add input about the durability of the mineral glass screen? I know that the screen on the iPod Touch 2G is very durable since I own one without having a protector on but I want to know if the X10s screen is just as durable.

So I recently got a set of screen protectors and put one on.All was well just noticed a few bubbles and so I tried to work them out. They weren't going away, so I figured I would try again so I removed it and to my astonishment the bubbles were still there. It's like they formed under the screen somehow when I put the protector on, they were absolutely not there before. There are 2 in the center of the screen and a few along the edges. At first I just thought it was a water spot but I cannot wipe them off.The ones on the edge of the screen I can"push out" to the edge to almost make them disappear. When you touch them with the pads of your fingers you can feel a slight "bump" in the screen (very minute but still there). They bubbles are easily visible when the screen is off and almost go away when the screen is on but you can still tell they are there. Is this a defect in the phone or did I cause this trying to install the protector? I didn't push down hard on the screen, just applied the protector and they appeared.

1. What is the best way of cleaning any marks off the screen before affixing the screen protector?
2. What is recommended method of fixing the protector?
3. Does the use of this affect the ease of using the touch screen?

I'm currently using the phantom skinz line and although I like the body protectors I think the screen protector has reduced some of the screen's clarity/sharpness. This wasn't an issue with the static protectors I got from verizon. The only reason I replaced the verizon ones is because they didn't cover the buttons along the bottom of the screen. Anyone find a static protector they like that covers the whole screen?

anyone have this problem w/ the moment whereby your face touches the screen and causes accidentally pressed keys, things to move on screen, etc. associated w/ touching the screen? I think I remember this happening once or twice on the moment but admittedly, I don't use it much so not sure if the lock screen was on, screen was off, etc. Just looking to see if anyone if affected by this or if it's a known problem.

I have had a screen protector on my Evo since I got it from Sprint on June 5th. It is a Sprint brand and is the anti glare type. It still looks good...no scratches, not falling apart etc. But I was wondering if it will damage the screen from being on so long and should I replace it with a new one. I never had occasion to use a protector before so forgive me if the question sounds like a stupid one.

What brand of screen protectors do you all like? I've heard people talking about Zagg, Wrapsol, and Phanton Skinz, but which is the best? Preferrably would like one that is not very "grippy" and has as little orange peel effect as possible.

I have had an Invisible Shield on my droid since I got it. There were a few pieces of dust under it that have been driving me crazy so I decided to take it off. What a difference! It looks better, feels more responsive to touch, and it is a lot smoother when I use pinch to zoom (no friction between my finger and the screen). I am paranoid that I'm going to scratch the screen but the trade off is worth it.

I bought the Droid Screen Protectors (came in a three pack) from Verizon, and I really don't like them. Every time I touch the phone, it leaves a finger print or a smear mark where I dragged my finger, and i don't really like the texture it adds to the screen. (Maybe I applied it wrong?)Just curious who is using a screen protector, and furthermore if you are, what screen protector are you using?
