I checked a similar thread but wasn't satisfied with the answers there. I just bought a Moment with 2.1 loaded. I'd like to know if the contacts program or the texting app that came loaded on the phone have a way to send text messages to groups.(Maybe this is a Google question.) I'm using Gmail contacts, which load into the phone fine, but I can't locate (in the phone) the groups I've set up. (As if they don't survive the sync). So the only way to send txt to multiple recipients is to enter each manually. Can get tedious for large lists.

The last time I used this feature was about a month ago.Logging into my Sprint account, it appears Sprint has updated their website to include something called ZipText.This is new to me but may not actually be new. It appears to be set up to forward any texts it receives by default and the messages I expected to see did not appear there. In fact no texts appeared there.So is anyone experiencing problems receiving texts? I have tried powering down and up my phone.I have successfully sent 2 texts to different people but I do not receive their replies or new messages.I cannot see a setting that would cause this.I have gone into the "Messaging" application to send texts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend is having an issue with her phone. I don't see it being an issue with mine but it might be something else. She is receiving non-alpha numeric characters in her text messages. So far shes gotten it from me and one of her other friends not knowing what to say she called it "caligraphy". Anyways, I am on Metro and her friend is on Verizon. I'd figure its a CDMA issue but she is on a Samsung Moment on Sprint which is also CDMA so idunno.
To me they send fine, but to her some of the texts she receives come in all garbled. Not sure whats going on, anyone got any ideas? Her phone is unrooted, stock, and like a week and a half ago had a factory reset done. Its 2.1 android. In this screenshot I asked her to forward me the "jibberish." She had tried to do it several times earlier but i never got the messages, this time i got it so heres a screenie for you all.

View 30 Replies View RelatedOn my sister's phone (and I've checked the contact, and reentered the number) when she receives a message from a certain number, the other number on her account and replies to it, the message seems to be sent to the 7 digit number, without area code, and so it fails. She keeps having to resend messages, as a new message, to the number typed in in full. On receiving a reply, simply responding to it results in another failure.This is samsung moment to samsung moment, only happens with the one contact, and doesn't happen on mine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did attempt to use the search feature here but didnt come up with the results I was looking for (or maybe I used it wrong?) I ask the following questions because unfortunately, I dont have good eyesight.
1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. So far my browsing experience hasent been that good because of this (having to constantly strain my eyes looking at website text) Any tips on why the text size option doesent seem to work?
3. is there anyway to increase the text size of emails and text messages?
Is there something i need to download to enable auto-correct and auto-replace typing features?
I can see in my text messaging that im automatically becomes I'm, which is great. But it doesn't do this in any other applications (only in text messages).
Furthermore, i want to add items to the autoreplace list, such as my name (capitalizing the first letter automatically), and other changes that i used to have on my Sidekick 3 (itss -> it's, smoment -> Samsung Moment, and probably many others i would think of over the months).
Is there an app i need to download? I want this feature enabled on every part of my phone, not just text messages.
I am invoking the default SMS activity by using the following code-
intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("sms:")); intent.putExtra("sms_body", "SMSText"); startActivityForResult(intent, 11); //Here 11 is my request code
The SMS activity gets opened in emulator (5554), i type the number 5556 (device number of my second emulator) and click on "Send"
The SMS is received in second emulator(5556) successfully. I click back on 5554 (my SMS generating emulator )and come back to my application. I notice that the onActivityResult method is getting called successfully as desired.
When i check for the result code i get it as RESULT_CANCELED ( 0 ) instead of RESULT_OK (-1). The data is also coming as null.
Is it possible to select text from a received text? Such as an address to copy and paste into nav. Possible to select multiple pictures to delete/send?

I have been reading all the posts concerning battery issues and have the same problems myself. I have tried numerous tips and tricks that i have read on this forum to hopefully increase my battery life. My post today is about how to forward a text message using the moment. I upgraded from an Samsung Instict and had no problem forwarding messages using the phone; however, I do not get the option to forward when i hit the menu key when looking at a text.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having is when I try to send a picture through picture message I get an error saying message size limit reached, you cannot attach this to your message. So in order to send a picture this way do I have to either:
a. change my camera settings to lower resolution?
b. is there a program or setting to automatically send a smaller image and keep my high res photo?
Obviously I would prefer option B as this camera rocks and takes some good pics.
I'm still new to Sprint.. I used to be a Verizon guy for 8 years. And I'm used to send and receive pictures with the original resolution they were taken. But I've notice that Everytime I get a Pic msg with my moment they're ridiculously resized. Same thing happens if I send one they get a crappy sized pic.
Is there a way around it?
Is it sprint?
Or is it Android?
How do you get speech text to work on the samsung moment?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am going crazy! Every time I try to text my wife's phone from my contacts, it removes the area code and errors out when trying to send. I have edited the contact info and sure enough it has the correct 10 digit number. I have tried deleting the her contact info and recreating it. No dice. I again deleted her contact info, went to her phone and sent a text to mine and replied. The incoming message has the correct 10 digit number. Replying again stripped the area code and tried to use the 7 digit number. Of course this failed.Any ideas? I need some help here. I am not sure if this is an issue with the phone or with AT&T.

It states that all of the things I have on my cell will be deleted or erased so it would be best to back up some things that I may want to save. I have a text message from a friend asking to borrow money and that they will pay it back. I want to keep all of the details from that message thread just in case. I can copy and paste it to my notepad or I can forward it to my email address but neither of these have the vital information such as the day and time these messages were sent to me. I have a 16GB memory card in my phone but I can't do anything but mount or unmount it. Is there a app where I can save my text messages to either my card or computer? I want to update my phone but don't want to lose the old stuff that may be erased or deleted.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI first reported this error msg here I am getting this error msg while replying to a threaded txt msg it happens at random sometimes but on the average between 7-10 msgs deep. I cannot make any sense of this because if it was a format issue of how I have my contact entered then why would it allow me to respond to the msg until I get the error. I know looking at the image below you cannot see my previous replies but trust me I am able to reply to txt msg's. I will mention this I do have my line blocked so my contact entries are as follows *821732-555-5555 mobile pager 732-555-5555 <<This is the one I txt to the other number example is the one I select for when calling the person so the number is unlocked.
