I just switched from the HTC Hero to the Samsung Moment and one of the main things I miss, other than the amazing camera, is not having a ringtone trimmer. Does anybody know of any apps or something similar that I can use to trim my ringtones?

I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. I've searched in the forums and I havnt found a solution to it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen in the HTC music app, I select Menu/Set as Ringtone - the only 2 options it gives me is Phone Ringtone or Contact Ringtone. There is no trimmer option. Any ideas how to get to that option? I assumed it was standard. (Yes, I know I could download Ringdroid but if the built-in app works, all the better.)

Step 2, Touch it and it should go full screen pic below
Step 3, Touch menu button and this screen below appears
Step 4, Hit the set as ringtone button and below screen appears
Step 5, select trim ringtone and below screen appears. When in this screen you can adjust ringtone from each end to where it begins and ends. There is a play button and a left and right arrow. The left and right arrow allow for second to second adjusting.
Where did the ringtone trimmer go that was integrated into 1.5? I installed Fresh 2.0d and its gone. Any ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedPerhaps I missed it but what happened to this app? I can still see it under settings>applications>manage applications. However, there is no shortcut icon for this app under my main menu of loaded apps. I don't guess it really matters, because I never used it, but was it removed in the MR update? I downloaded and have used Ringdroid and it works great for me, but I am curious as to what happened to the preloaded app?
View 4 Replies View RelatedNot sure if I'm being thick and missing something but. I set an mp3 to be my ringtone the other day, and when i did it, I had a play with the trimmer, but just decided to use the whole thing in the end. The point being that the trimmer was definitely working. Today I went to change to a different MP3, and wanted to trim, but the trimmer is not working. It seems to think the mp3 is 0 seconds long:
The big "timer" at the top shows 00:00, as does the small one to the right, next to the stopwatch. Both "speech bubbles" above either end of the time bar are empty and greyed out Timer to the left of the bar says 00:00 Lefthand slider (with the 6 dots) is green, but right hand one is grey.
I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?
The music player blows. how do i get the old htc music player back along with the widgets and ringtone trimmer?

It was downloaded from the website Myxer.com and I can not for the life of me figure out this phone. My brother-in-law just said I don't know how to get rid of it sorry, and left. Had a friend text and email me a cool ring tone to my phone which I clicked on save to sd card. Now once I save it and even download it I can never find it on my phone. I even went to the net and found this same ring tone and downloaded it and aved it to the sd card but of course I can't find it anywhere on my phone. I can never find crap when I save to my sd card there is no where on my phone I can go to and look at stuff that I down loaded to the sd card. I would really like to learn how to find crap that I save to my sd card and then use it as a ring tone.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy particular problem is that the phone is answering with a voice command that tells you who is calling if the caller is in my contacts list. I tried to find it listed in the list for ringtones to no avail. I've also checked a couple of different options but the phone is set to the voice announcement by default. Please help. My phone is rooted (I think), but currently I am on a looong learning curve to be able to troubleshoot these things on my own.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk. I did one of the updates to 2.1 on my moment back when it was first leaked, and did the change to CE10 or whatever it was, then I just did the other day a custom makeshift one from the pick and choose list from Joey. Both of these 2.1 updates land me in this issue.
I can not find a setting to change it, and I thought it might have been from the Dialer One application but it isn't.
Whenever I choose a ringtone whether from Android, Music, or Zedge, no matter what it is. My ringtone when I get a call is always an audible call from John Doe. Or if the number isn't in my phone book it would say call from ###-###-####.
I have tried multiple ringtones and I still run into this. It never happened on the original 1.5. Is there a setting I need to change?
I accidentally set to select default ring tone and I need to change it back to where I can select the folder. How do I do that?

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account.Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?
