In 1.5, I'm sure that I had an option to keep the screen/backlight on as long as the phone was connected to external power. On 2.1, all I can find are fixed time periods. Is it no longer possible to have the screen always on, or has that setting been moved?

Anybody know for sure whether the Moment's screen is glass or plastic?I've looked around for the answer, but there seems to be conflicting reports.So far I'm amazed at how scratch resistant the screen is.Still pristine after heavy usage, so I'm assuming it's a glass screen.But I haven't been able to find any definitive source.

All settings are set to keep the phone on for a signifiant period of time. Very frustrating to be typing a text message and have to unlock the phone mutiple times.Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

I think I remember this happening once or twice on the moment but admittedly, I don't use it much so not sure if the lock screen was on, screen was off, etc. Just looking to see if anyone if affected by this or if it's a known problem.

Once a call is placed the phone will go black and I am unable to access the onscreen functions (Speaker, Dialpad, etc). I've tried tapping the screen, hitting the back button and hitting the menu button, but the screen remains black. At some point it MAY come on or just briefly flash on. This has been very annoying - especially with calls that require multiple prompts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeems like all of a sudden my Moment never sleeps. I can press the red end call button to put it to sleep, but when I turn it back on after a few minutes or even an hour or so later, when I check spare parts it says under battery history 100% running. The screen is not on and shows a small % and since this started the battery life has gotten horrible again. The only thing I see that is running when I look at partial partial wake usage is android system and it is showing the full bar in blue. Does anyone have any idea what can be causing this problem. When I had advanced task manager installed it showed many things running in the background like music, system update, messages ect ect ect and these programs were never opened by me. I thought maybe this was the program that was running all the time because after I uninstalled it the phone started sleeping. But now it is back to staying awake 100% of the time. Any help would be appriciated.

After changing the background and getting some random apps (barcode scanner, discovery, zedge, bbc), I noticed the screen kept lighting up randomly 8 to 10 times in a row. Luckily for me, a drunk man smashed my brand new Moment the Sunday after I got it so Asurion sent me another one the next day. The new one does the exact same thing and I want to smash it (even sober). Anyone running into this? I've read on some blogs that people had the same problems when they upgraded.The keyboard sold me on this phone but if this is going to keep happening I'm getting a new one.

View 18 Replies View RelatedMy wife just dropped her Moment, and it has 3 cracks across the screen. Other than that, it works perfectly. There's no damage to the LCD. So I think it's just the 'touch' part of it that is broken. Also, are there any guides on how to take the moment apart. It doesn't seem that complicated, but looking at some instructions beforehand would make it easier.
Does the virtual keyboard on the Moment have bigger keys than the HTC Hero? I ask this because looking at the display for the moment it appears to be wider than that of the Hero.Also, does the screen shut off when not in use? I have heard people say this as well as their face hits stuff on the screen when they are talking on it.

So it boots up, and I start using it, browsing the internet, and suddenly, without warning, while my finger is on the screen scrolling, the phone locks up the screen. View 15 Replies View RelatedWent into test mode to check out the battery. And through my curiosity went into the 'touch-fw update', and now I can't use my phone. I have the touchscreen lock so can't unlock it, otherwise maybe I could use the keyboard or the optical joystick to use the phone. Is there any way to fix this? I might attempt a hard reset, but saw on another forum, that it's unfixable. I bought it at Best Buy and they aren't even open tomorrow, would another Best Buy or Sprint store exchange it if I can't fix it?

But I don't remember how I did that or what setting I went into. I also have Open Home installed and running on the first phone and now my new phone, i've searched through and through all setting for the phone itself and for Open Home and can not find how I changed it.

If i call a number that requires me to enter numbers it seems like it takes a good 3 or 4 seconds for the screen to turn back on. I know it doesnt seem like a lot but some of these calls if you dont enter the number right away they start asking questions over then i do hit a number and its the wrong one so its a pain in the a$$. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been checking for recent threads about cronic issues of dial screen problems with mute/speaker activated accidentally. I just got my phone in last 2 months and am not technically advanced enough so fear rooting my phone...dealer said it will invalidate my warrantee. My phone is already 2.1, and this issue was SUPPOSED to be resolved . Are there any work arounds for the Moments crappy dial screen? I hate that I have to hit back button to disable buttons that I never use anyway. And when the screen is gone...it is a pain to bring back the dial screen if I need to use dial tones, since the keypad letters do not work on phone system prompts because they don't activate keytones. Is there any good (not buggy) work around dial screen applications for this other than rooting my phone?

I have the "never sleep when charging" setting checked, and what it does when charging is the screen dims, but the moment does not sleep. Is there a way to prevent the dimming while charging?

1) My husband's Moment is paired with the bluetooth in our car. I know its paired because it shows up on the list of devices on the Moment but it fails to automatically connect to the car when bluetooth is on and he starts the car. This worked fine with his Treo previously and I'm pretty sure, worked with the Moment for the first coupld of times after pairing. It will connect if I do it manually but that's a pain! I have reviewed all the settings and can't find anything wrong . . .
2) Again, on my husband's Moment there seems to be a program that's running which turns on his screen and leaves it on! We hit the "end" button to turn it off but it will come back on later (I "ended" twice during the course of the night last night, a few hours apart). I have the screen timeout set to 15 secs and no other notifications/alerts in any program that would (I think) cause the screen to illuminate and not time out. Its obviously a concern for battery life and just plain annoying.
Is there a way, app or otherwise, to keep the dialer pad on the screen.
It becomes a pain in the butt when I have to use it for choosing options in a call menu.
